My Lumia always have this CPU heating issue. Try the browser and report back to us if your Lumia becomes hot or not while using it. At least I'll know that my motherboard is defective or something if you do not experience any heating issue.

mine also having the same issue. is it because motherboard faulty?
hv u send yours to service centre? will they able to change the motherboard freely or swap to a new phone?

I have not gone to the service center. Malas actually because I hate leaving the phone there. I suspect they will try and fix it and not replace it. I'll give it a couple more weeks and then I'll send it in. The plan is to reproduce the heating issue and let the Nokia Center people hold the phone rclxub.gif baru diaorang tahu how hot the phone can get.

Mine only occurs if I surf the net using 3G and if I use UC Browser (even with Wifi). Does not happen when I make calls (then again, I don;t spend more than 10-15 minutes on the phone, most of my calls are short and sweet.

My gf's 920 suddenly suck at taking low light pictures. When it first came in, it was brilliant. Now the pictures it takes is the same with my 620. Just barely brighter.

The wifi has intermittent problem too. Sometimes it works. sometimes it doesn't. Because of this, it eats up the data plan. My gf only have 250mb and it's all used up within 10 days though she's always on wifi.

Going to nokia SC tomorrow to have it looked at. Sucks.

This is usual. Until you get Portico update, get ready for more data consumption. When the phone goes to sleep, the WiFi will go off as well. So any toast notifications you get, it will consume your data. Portico will fix this, in February.

As for taking low light pictures, kindly enable Focus Assist Light. It will create a flash before taking pictures so that light enters the lens (something along the line, I ain't a photographer pro). You may leave your flash off though.

I know about the wifi off when screen off thing. It's not that. The wifi is problematic. I cannot upload anything to skydrive using wifi. I tried multiple AP. still same. It keeps waiting for wifi. Then i use my 620 to use those AP. works without any problem.
It's eating a lot of data, 250mb is gone in 10 days. Any youtube/surfing is done only with wifi on. My assumption is it's cannot transfer via wifi and the phone is reverting back to data. Not sure about this though

Edit: restarting the phone didn't help

I enabled AF light. Flash off.

The day I bought it, i took some pictures in really low light. Works great. Now the photo is very very dark. barely better than 620. Same pose, same location. It can still take the butterfly picture at those nokia shops. But if it is slightly dimmer, then the picture is aweful.

Cleaned it. still the same.

Hard resetting the phone seems to solve the wifi thing. But I'm tired of resetting. 3 times d. No choice but to take it ot the service centre.

Yea, in that case, it sounds more like a defect. Bring it to the service center.

ok, so barely 5 minutes on UC browser, my phone upper back top hot gila. close the app, browse using IE then it became cooler. i think the UC browser engine was pushing the hardware very hard, like we stress test desktop cpus. no wonder the app is fast and very responsive with all the settings and eyecandy it has.

Good (well not good ... but at least it's not my CPU problem). I have a suspicion that some app really pushes the enevlop with regards to the CPU usage. UC Browser is awesome in terms of speed. I mean, going back and forth (I love the back/forward button ... MS, are you listening?) was instantaneous. But I guess as you mentioned, it comes with a price ... the CPU becomes super hot and the battery drain is incredible. I bet that if you continouosly use UC browser, you can drain the battery in 90 minutes easy. The CPU heating up also takes a toll on the battery life even after you close the app. I have had to switch on Airplane mode and then shutdown the phone and after 5 minutes, the CPU will cool down and in that 5 minutes of cooling off period, the battery would have drained another 5-6 percent.

I have tested the app, by maxing out the CPU usage therefor causing CPU heat up and battery drain is a very bad mobile application. Mobile application should have a balance between the power it consume and performance it gives. A 2 Star app for me because it drains battery like drinking water. I would rather use IE 10 that works just fine without draining so much power.

The service centre basically just reset my phone. Did nothing but claimed they fixed the problem. This is so frustrating.

Just to make sure that I'm not expecting too much. Can some of you post the lumia 920 pictures in very dim conditions? I'll post mine in a while
