QUOTE(d|@voLo @ Jan 2 2013, 03:08 AM) Hi Guys, i am an existing android phone user. Currently thinking of jumping to Windows Phone 8. However my concern is whether most of the apps are paid apps? Yes then it will be an issue too limited apps at the moment and paid apps are a lot higher compare to iOS and androidUnlike Android market (Google Play), you can find tonnes of free apps. |

QUOTE(godhpf @ Jan 15 2013, 05:25 PM) My gf's 920 suddenly suck at taking low light pictures. When it first came in, it was brilliant. Now the pictures it takes is the same with my 620. Just barely brighter. clean lens fingerprint? The wifi has intermittent problem too. Sometimes it works. sometimes it doesn't. Because of this, it eats up the data plan. My gf only have 250mb and it's all used up within 10 days though she's always on wifi. Going to nokia SC tomorrow to have it looked at. Sucks. |

It does not matter what phone i use i still can apply same photography knowledge to various phone because i understand the limitation of all this OS. QUOTE(jonchai @ Jan 23 2013, 03:51 PM) When buying HTC, well, just pray that your unit works without issue. Pray that it doesn't fail, otherwise, going through their warranty is like nightmare. yea no HTC for me. After service sux.I've personally been through that, enough is enough. No more HTC as long as SIS is the main distributor. Brightstar also under SIS. |

QUOTE(jonchai @ Jan 23 2013, 06:18 PM) My problem with them was far worse. I had a Desire S for about a month+, started having issues, sent in for repair, 1 week later, it was ready for collection, then started having a different issue. The cycle went on for about 6 times, I got so fed up (delays in between, half a year gone), I asked for compensation for loss of use. Then HTC Taiwan called, ding dong ding dong, another month gone. In the end, after negotiations, they replaced it with a HTC Sensation without Beats (which I bet was yet another refurb unit). I sold it off right away. For samsung my note 2 works great todate no issue except charger got some weird sound. Phone works great till todateAs for Samsung, well, all I can say is, their units are not consistent. Sure they have good service, but I'd still stay away from Samsung until I see better track record. In the family, my cousin bought an S2, masuk factory dunno how many times. My aunty bought an S3, again, masuk factory. So far, Nokia hasn't failed me. Let's put firmware and stuff aside, at least, I haven't had to send a single unit in for repair. To me, Nokia's reputation is top notch in this regard. Worst is HTC. |

QUOTE(jonchai @ Feb 16 2013, 09:24 AM) Having issue is one thing. No taking necessary steps to resolve it is another. remember when lumia 920 was announce they delay the phone like forever to launch is okay but when launch tons of devices have problem. I cant brain this if they launch quick and have issue is acceptable but after long delay and with tons of issue is hard to accept.I'm fine with the first, but not with the latter. No device on earth is without issues, but it seems Microsoft is taking their own sweet time to address them, and Nokia could only do so much. Much of the issues stem from the new NT kernel. Majority and higher percentage is on lumia 920 This post has been edited by aspire2oo6: Feb 16 2013, 09:27 AM |

QUOTE(jonchai @ Feb 16 2013, 09:31 AM) They didn't exactly delay. According to reports, they didn't have good enough supply, so naturally, US & Canada would be their target markets first. It did come to our shores before year end with decent pricing, that, to me, was good enough. Yea WP7 to WP8 not much WOW factor to even begin to brag about it.The problem is the software, sure L920 does has its fair share of bugs, but Nokia did take steps to rectify them through PR1.1 (img algorithm tuning - sharpness). On contrary, I can't say the same for Microsoft. From WP7 to WP8, nothing much changed. Portico, nothing much added. How much more time do they want? Come July (my yearly purchase month), I'll give them the middle finger if they don't do something about their platform. I'll head over to BB or Samsung. They did delay even in US Announce in SEPT phone only available in December. 3 months delay. I using Note 2 i can say quite satsify with the phone overall. Not much complaint. Battery life also WOW Apps acceptable Updates since i got the phone i got like 5 to 7 updates just today itself got 2 100MB updates |

QUOTE(jonchai @ Feb 16 2013, 09:54 AM) Just to correct you, it was announced in Sept, available in Nov, some places, end Oct (early, unofficial release), so not too bad. its bad some place got some place do not means its not official launch? Some even secretive launch. That is bad for marketing.Note 2 is too big for me, plus it's still too early to look for a phone now. I'll see how much technology advances in the coming months. Battery life WOW because it has a tablet battery, huge one, given its form factor, no surprises Not so much on apps for me, I just want to enjoy the core experience (email, attachments, documents, reading). For heaven's sake, on WP, I can't even attach a PDF or share more than one document file through email, that alone, disappoint me to the max. Indeed the debate is not about because its tablet battery or not for a phone there is no competition for such screen size and design. Even android sux u can practically attached anything to email. Lets hope nokia comes out something like 808 on WP8 |

QUOTE(mashimarow @ Jul 12 2013, 06:39 AM) And the downside is your Android will get less and less memory left till the point become out of memory even your sms can't come in, can't update your apps and annoying out of memory keep popping up Happens to old android phones newer phones no more issue. It never happen to WP Nokia drag too long for android to catch up. Even battery life of android its manage well last alot longer than any wp phones. This post has been edited by aspire2oo6: Jul 12 2013, 01:11 PM |

QUOTE(madseason12 @ Jul 19 2013, 10:44 PM) hi all ,, i am thinking to switching to window 8 lumia 925 .. from htc one .. one of my worries is the whatsapp problem ..as i know the app Whatsapp updated to v2.10.506.0 .. so now the notification is real time or still delay and the apps still crash? thanks in advance I suggest u to stay with your htc one. If not you will regret badly. No multitasking , limited apps, lower audio quality, social media app limited features. Maybe future but now wp8 is not ready |

What I dislike the social integration is limited. They keep brag about it but only support limited.
Facebook chat don't support offline sending message |
