If they are selling 620, I'm getting one for myself. I got my gf a 920 for x'mas. Though WP8 is still missing some features, I like them better than other platforms.

anybody tried the "Find My Phone"? In the windows phone website, there's the options
1. Connect to these features faster (may use more battery).
2. Save my location every few hours for better mapping.

But I can't find these. There's only a slider to turn the feature on. When I turn it on and go back to settings page, it shows it is off but I think this is a wording mistake.

My gf's 920 suddenly suck at taking low light pictures. When it first came in, it was brilliant. Now the pictures it takes is the same with my 620. Just barely brighter.

The wifi has intermittent problem too. Sometimes it works. sometimes it doesn't. Because of this, it eats up the data plan. My gf only have 250mb and it's all used up within 10 days though she's always on wifi.

Going to nokia SC tomorrow to have it looked at. Sucks.

I know about the wifi off when screen off thing. It's not that. The wifi is problematic. I cannot upload anything to skydrive using wifi. I tried multiple AP. still same. It keeps waiting for wifi. Then i use my 620 to use those AP. works without any problem.
It's eating a lot of data, 250mb is gone in 10 days. Any youtube/surfing is done only with wifi on. My assumption is it's cannot transfer via wifi and the phone is reverting back to data. Not sure about this though

Edit: restarting the phone didn't help

I enabled AF light. Flash off.


The day I bought it, i took some pictures in really low light. Works great. Now the photo is very very dark. barely better than 620. Same pose, same location. It can still take the butterfly picture at those nokia shops. But if it is slightly dimmer, then the picture is aweful.

Cleaned it. still the same.


Hard resetting the phone seems to solve the wifi thing. But I'm tired of resetting. 3 times d. No choice but to take it ot the service centre.

The service centre basically just reset my phone. Did nothing but claimed they fixed the problem. This is so frustrating.

Just to make sure that I'm not expecting too much. Can some of you post the lumia 920 pictures in very dim conditions? I'll post mine in a while

The room is around 11 x 11 feet. A typical old terrace house room. The cupboard is directly opposite the door. So it's quite bright. Outside of the room is as bright as the first picture. The kitchen cabinet outside of the room has an opening on top to allow light in from outside in. Hence the shadow of the dining table.

But the problem is the nokia service centre ppl do not test it under dim conditions like that. they just test it under dim but is actually not so dim conditions and claim it's working as expected. In those conditions my lumia 920 doesn't have any problem. argh this is so frustrating.

I took the pictures by tapping the screen. Does it make any difference?

edit: I notice that the results are the same. tapping the screen will cause it to focus and then snap the picture.

how dim is the room? is it as dim as in the 2nd picture or dimmer? I'll try again and see if there is any difference between tap & press

An update to my 620 & 920 problems

620
Problem: Find my phone doesn't show two checkboxes. Only one slider to turn on and off. For those that do not know what I'm talking about,

Solution: I backup and hard reset the phone. Then I restore. The settings now appears.


920
Problem: Low light shots seems to degrade.
Solution: After comparing shots taken by other 920 and doing some more tests, it appears to be the pictures are on par. Although I do really feel that the quality degraded a little, since it's on par with other 920s, I'm going to put it to rest.


On the other hand, I find the restore phone function of windowsphone works well but with some annoyances.
1. I put msia as my home region and it restores apps available to msian market automatically. Fantastic

2. For non-msian market apps, it doesn't show the app icon and app name. It just shows "Downloading application.. some numbers.". Tapping it just gives some generic error message. Even when I change the region to US, it still displays that. I had to tap retry.

3. After changing to US region and downloading US apps, I still have some apps that I cannot download. After counting the number of apps and counting the number of "nokia system apps(audio, extra+info etc)" in the windowsphone.com, I guess these are the apps. But I'm not sure since I cannot see the icon or the name.

Wow what are your phone's problems? Heat issues?

No big deal. Just that if you wan to use the windows phone website to send apps to your phone, you need to enable the push (first checkbox). I prefer searching for apps using the website or the windows phone software and send to my phone. Also I can look at my purchase history at the website and click send.

If you are not using this feature, you don't need to bother

Well my other problem with my phone is the multi touch. You can test if yours have the same problem.
But that is h/w problem. Missing checkboxes seems to be s/w problem.

They just follow the steps provided, those tools n stuff might not be updated yet.
Anyway hope that your 920 will be returned in tip top condition. Sometimes things are not the same after repairs.

I made a fuss with Nokia because I have to wait up to 2 weeks for a 10 days old phone. Interesting to see how things unfold now.

My lumia 620 has been with nokia care since 21st January. Even after escalating it, nothing has improved. Just called them and they say the part is going to come in march.

Nokia Amcorp Mall. Mine has the multi touch problem. Called them and they said the part will arrive in march. I'm seriously pissed. I only have the phone for like 10 days and I'm being made to wait for so long. This is even after escalating the issue.

EDIT: Initially they said two weeks which I was very unhappy about because it's clearly a hardware glitch. It's been more than four weeks now.
