QUOTE(mfa333 @ Dec 11 2012, 07:21 PM) hello all.. just asking, what case do you guys use for nexus 7? thinking to get blurex but out of stock.. I'm using the black leather casing from this guy at garage saleshttp://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopic=2456416&hl= QUOTE(benny888 @ Dec 13 2012, 03:51 PM) On 4.2 look for it using root explorer as is hidden file I cant seem to backup using twrp. It says couldnt find secure partition smth smth. I read from the twrp post that there are a few people who have the same problem. How do you counter this?Highly recommend use twrp recovery as you can backup to external thumb drives n save space Backup n restore is 20-30% faster than CWM EDIT: found the solution. just had to reset the settings to default. thanks benny! QUOTE(skywardsword @ Dec 13 2012, 05:14 PM) any recommendation for free maps apps? preferably one that can use gps to pinpoint current location. AES Detector, sygic (need pirate though) and waze Does not require navigation, just plain old maps. This post has been edited by orenzai: Dec 13 2012, 06:04 PM |

QUOTE(Shawnzz @ Dec 13 2012, 06:05 PM) Damn.. Was running without case for 1 week plus after igot my n7,and got few scratches on my screen already QUOTE(ruffaz @ Dec 13 2012, 06:10 PM) Its corning glass. But how did it get scratched? QUOTE(skywardsword @ Dec 13 2012, 06:15 PM) I am trying out sygic. then waze then google map. too bad google map got limit of 80mb. Sygic is the best in terms of instructions and UI but the only thing is its POI too few. Waze needs internet connection.also, I got poetic case. but it kind of loose. No screen protector. Do I really need SP? oily smudge is quite unsightly. Should I get one that is matte? |

QUOTE(alucard1412 @ Dec 14 2012, 03:29 PM) Guys, have been really unlucky here..my first model had the low power failure problem, where it dies at 20%. So I exchanged it with a new unit at newegg, which I'm grateful for. Turns out the new unit now has screen flickering problem How bad is your screen flickering issue? Mine has that problem too. But it only happens when its at its lowest brightness. Not that big a problem for me as it only comes up when Im in my room lights off. |

QUOTE(mengsuan @ Dec 15 2012, 02:10 PM) I got a Nexus 7 32GB from Newegg. Just noticed that there's screen lift. I remember there's a 1 month 1-to-1 exchange from Newegg. Should I just return it? If it's enough to bother you then you should change it QUOTE(Erehwon @ Dec 15 2012, 03:58 PM) This may be a silly question but anyone notice the top and bottom of the N7 is slightly rounded and not as flat like the sides? Yep! I noticed that when I took it out of the box the first time too. It makes the whole device looks a bit roundish. It's not just the top part though, the bottom part is too |

QUOTE(d@odao @ Dec 16 2012, 04:10 PM) Ya wor. Even my Macbook air also no bar. :-) For epub and mobi format I like moon reader a lot. PDF if for reading then Repligo reader is not bad. If just normal viewing I think any of the office suites should do fine. (quickoffice/polaris)Added on December 16, 2012, 5:02 pmCan anyone recommend an app for reading eBook and PDF ? |

Asphalt eats up my battery fast. I think with wifi on and asphalt playing I could probably churn out 5-6 hours.

QUOTE(IwanAGP @ Dec 17 2012, 01:06 AM) I would say around 700 since it's used set. And... 32GB Wifi from Newegg is just 820.9 I don think can fetch that high already. Lowyat plaza are selling 16gb wifi units for less than 800 currently. But if you sell to those that don't know about newegg, maybe can get higher. Retail price for 16GB wifi now is 899 right? |

QUOTE(andrekua2 @ Dec 22 2012, 10:33 AM) I dont really know why they are ripping off people. Selling used item higher/same value than they bought for. Haha but I thought 700 for a 16gb unit is market price now? Where did you buy your 32gb at such low price?QUOTE(MaGNiFiCo @ Dec 22 2012, 02:28 PM) So far mine is OK. With moderate to heavy usage it can last me 1 full day. You have to beware of the widgets you use though. I added plume onto my home screen and it seemed to affect the bat performance quite a bit. |

QUOTE(ckweng @ Dec 29 2012, 10:29 PM) I feel that the battery life is just average only. Standby time seems a little short. I didn't touch the tablet since morning and when i checked it at night, it fell from 90% to around 50%. wa... why so fast de? you set to hw decoder?Watching a 1.5 hour movie typically uses up to 40% of the battery life... |

QUOTE(ckweng @ Dec 30 2012, 08:56 AM) Sorry I'm still not pro with android yet. What do u mean by hw decoder? Are u referring to the player that I used? Yep the player you use. For instance MX player allows you to decode the video using hardware decoder for smoother player or software decoder. Try to look at the settings in your player to set it to software decoder if its eating up too much battery life.I downloaded some free game apps and all that. I always make sure that they are turned off and not running in the background. If certain apps are causing the problem even though they are nor running, is there a way to determine for sure which are those? Another possible cause of battery drain might be because of the widgets you put on your homescreen. Some apps that have beautiful graphics/constantly refreshing such as weather widgets, news feeds, twitter and facebook widgets. |
