i have a fujitsu s2020. what i can say is that, it gets rather noisy whenever i connect anything to it's usb port (except the mouse). the fan will start spinning madly too when i play moderately-graphic-intensive games, like Fate. and recently, the fan on my lappy went bonkers. from the sound i heard, the fan was spinning way below it's normal speed. had to send it for repair, rm120 for labour charge. got the lappy in 2004.
and the lcd indicator, which displays if ur caps/num lock is on, battery, etc, is so 'strategically' placed that it's rather useless if u put the lappy on a table |

Why my warranty is only for 1 year? After 1 year i'll have to pay for Labour Charges + Parts.
Generally i can't recommend this brand, my DVD/CD-RW and fan keep dying out. Not to mention i can't get any service in UK with it. Amazingly that fella will diagnose my problem through the phone and then says nothing is wrong. I had to bring it back to Malaysia to fix it. |

hey, does anyone know how to open up a fujitsu s2020? in my previous post i mentioned that my laptop was sent for the fan repair. ok, so i paid rm120 for the labour charge and they replaced my fan. got back the laptop after 2 days. but i really only started using the laptop again 2 weeks later (i live in malacca, lazy to go back to kl to get my laptop back).
and guess what, after using it for 3 days, all of a sudden, the keyboard malfunctioned. suddenly my s, t, 7, F10, comma, back slash and a few other keys stopped working. i went into a fit of rage. my bolster and pillow flew zig zag across my room, but they keyboard was the same. i reformatted my laptop, but they keyboard was still the same. called up fujitsu and they said their engineer need to check what's wrong, and after that they'll decide whether to charge me another rm120 so does anyone have any experience in taking apart a fujitsu s2020? |

i just got a S2110. I was told that it supports S-video. Indeed there's an mini S-video port behind it.
I went around looking for the suitable adapter for it. Guess what none of the store on 2nd and 3rd floor lowyat selling that. Only the fujitsu specialist shop at ground floor has one unit. It cost RM150 for just a small piece of wire(it's an mini s-video adapter). http://www.pc-ap.fujitsu.com/products/acce...s/FPCCBL06.html check out the photo from the above link. Anyone has any lobang to ge a cheaper third party one? |

Enquired it from Micro-D. They are selling at RM 130 but out of stock currently. Fujitsu in lowyat has one unit selling at RM 150.
From U.S, it's as cheap as USD 12. |

However, after the replacement, everything should be solved. |

to eelyn,
u know.. i think when someone is new to notebooks , meaning a first time buyer of notebooks ( just like me a month back) , its important to get a good and branded notebook so that you will not be dissapointed in it and thus leads towards the condemnation of notebook brands and stuff. Sometimes it just frustrates you to see that you new lappie just dissapoionts u... Well first rule, you always get what you pay for. Never think anything that is cheap will be as good. As the prices often reflects the amount of effort put in by the manufacturers. Lets pick a few instances, 1) DELL - Competitive price with high specs, almost match a desktop, however , u must realize that this means a little less effort on mayb testing out the products before marketing them, less effort in designing the whole notebook that mayb results in more heat. Thus the failure rate, or more accurate the defect rate of the notebook tends to be higher. Ppl might say they have good after sales service, but come on, who wans to pay 4-5k to get headaches. But still there are ppl going for it as they are one of the most competitive in pricing and specs. most customers are willing to gamble on their luck to get a trouble free notebook as failure rate quite high. Toshiba - Use to be da best. However a drop in quality since a few years back as they are no longer manufactured in Japan, meaning quality control aint what it used to be. But still rest assured that you are getting a top notch notebook. My brother has one for ages...still working but then he just bought a new fujitsu. Fujitsu - Well for a newbie like me, i never tot of Fujitsu before as the price tag often put off buyers. However, it seems like they changed their pricing recently. All Fujitsu's are manufactured in Japan and every single aspect is tested out before marketing the product.. Failure rates are very low.. Niche market... i am using S2110 the value priced lifebook from fujitsu and am really happy with the quality.. you won regret it. IBM - The most solid notebook u can find around. Intel personels have one each. very durable. almost the same description as fujitsu. ACER - taking the market by storm.. onli happen twice... once with DELL and now ACER. However due to mass production, quality might be a bit compromise. Due to their fight with DELL, both have been offering lower and lower prices... thus cheaper and less durable components and casing. Offers up to 3 years warranty to gain consumer trust on their product. Sony - Cool design.. Nice integrated webcam. Cool software for it. Quality wise, its good. Hp/Compaq - Erm never had experience with them Twinhead - Had a pentium 3 that lasted until it was stolen.. It was ok ...but still had it send for warrantycoz the HDD broke down. Well conclusively, what i wanted to say is, for first time laptop buyer , just find something that will not give u any trouble , preferably a Toshiba,Fujitsu,IBM or a Sony... Its always your decision to choose what u wan.. this is just my 2 cents. I never understand the hassle of paying 4-5k or mayb more and having to repair it in the near future. For branded notebooks, mayb you pay more for the peace of mind. Anyway, having a branded laptop is also like a status symbol. Nowadays u carry a DELL or Acer, ppl won even notice (its embedded in ppls mind that they are cheap). U carry something like an IBM or FUjitsu or Toshiba, well u try to look at their reaction. Just like someone driving a proton and mayb a honda? or mayb a BMW... Cheerio p/s : Get a Fujitsu... it will rock our world... This post has been edited by Caz: May 12 2006, 08:26 PM |

Hi to all Fujitsu-an, especially S2110 users.
I have read about your reviews & some others; could I check with you about the following again? a. The battery life: is it 3 hours or 2 hours? b. The HDD noise, is it really that bad? c. Since the Turion is running on 64bits, do you think running XP Pro 64bits would make it run faster? d. Heat level, is it really that bad? Think while at the airport, can't really find that many table to put the laptop on, so most probably would have to put it on the lap Thanks in advance. |

I own a Fujitsu C-7651 (Bought in US 4 years ago), its a P3-M model. Quite a good laptop, done a lot with it, gaming, photoshop, coreldraw and many power taxing stuffs.
But of late the Combo drive is beginning to select CDs to read. Might wanna send to Micro-D to have the PCMCIA checked out as well. Anyone know the max HDD that I can upgrade mine to? Is the number 1-800 88 3309 correct? Please share....... I've called them twice but they never got back to me |

Bought the S2110 last week. So far so good.
Quite like the unit, and this is the first time I am using Fujitsu. It is a company pc. The company bought it after comparing specs, after sales service, pricing etc. Most importantly when they asked what do I think.... I say made in Japan, should be top quality. The accounts dept checked the unit to make sure it is made in Japan before getting it. The company bought it from Fujitsu Concept Store @ Sungei Wang. Not really sure about differences between AMD & Intel. Not a technical person. Anyway, one thing for sure is that Intel has more pr & marketing money than AMD, or perhaps AMD did not spend it correctly..... Where as Intel spent it correctly! That's why most people (I don't mean all) believes that Intel is the best. This post has been edited by visioncatz: Jun 1 2006, 09:08 AM |

I thought the bag comes along with the unit? I dunno la, I got a laptop bag and another small bag.. And btw, 2 days after getting the lappy, I sent it back to Fujitsu
My drive was too sensitive, 80% of all the discs I've tried with, can't be read. Got a call from them yesterday, stating that it was software issue.. will be collecting it today and see if the problem is really rectified. P/S: Was strolling around the mall the other day after sending the lappy off, and the MacBook caught my eye.. DAMMIT! Now thinking of getting one.. but I guess that'll have to wait. |

Hi,
Just noticed something about Sonic DVD burning software that comes with Fujitsu S2110. When I have burned the CD/DVD & closed the program; if I wanted to open/launch this program again, it will not start. Is this something configured by Fujitsu or Sonic? Or, software conflict? Thanks. |

Hi, I am using S2110 since May this year.
Performance wise, if for work; it is satisfactory. If for multimedia, then requires higher RAM. Besides that, one thing I noticed about this unit; everything is made in Japan. Even NEC's models are mainly made in China. Perhaps except 5110 (think this is the model). Travel around with it for work, is ok as well. QUOTE(PoisonIvy82 @ Aug 13 2006, 12:14 AM) |

QUOTE(visioncatz @ Aug 13 2006, 06:48 AM) Hi, I am using S2110 since May this year. Hi.. thanks for the input. Hm.. i think it should be ok then.. i need it for work also but occassional multimedia things. That's why i wanted to upgrade it to 1GB Ram. Well, i will be collecting mine this coming Saturday. I can do it earlier but don't think i have the time to go there during weekdays though. Will see how it performs.. ~ IvY ~ |

So far my s2110 got no problems after collecting it back. I've uninstalled Sonic burning software entirely, and installed Cyberlink's Power2Go. Really good software to use.. as for the drive sensitivity issues, so far I've been using Taiyo Yuden discs.. and they're working well, not sure about my Riteks though, will have to try them out later.
Anyway, if you're having doubts about the s2110, you shouldn't.. if you plan to use it mainly for work, perhaps this machine will make you a proud owner. For multimedia and movies, my 512mb RAMs are enough to run HDTV encodes too.. not to mention 1gb! So, I think it's a good buy @ RM4230, cuz mine already cost me RM4199 for extra 256mb RAM. |

Thanks a lot for the assurance. I hope i am doing the right decision. I wanted to get the XPS initially but when i saw it during the fair.. it was like.. not nice at all. It is to a point that i don't think i can see myself taking it out of home and using it anywhere else other than my home.. ~ IvY ~ |

I got my S2110 already.. and i totally love it although i think it heats up very fast. Does that happen to anyone's? Another thing is, when i use the CD/DVD player to install programs, that heats up very fast and very hot also.. Is that normal? Thanks.. Regards, ~ IvY ~ |

i've been eyeing fujitsu for quite some time since im planning 2 buy a laptop soon. Initially i was torn between HP, toshiba n fujitsu but due to my criteria it has to be very light i crossed out toshiba. Later, i crossed out HP due to it's lack of warranty. So i think my decision is final 2 buy a fujitsu. The only problem is i don't know which model should i aim for....either the S2120 or the P7120....both are light in weight. My usage is mainly for surfing, word/excel docs and playing DVD's, mp3's and light games

Hi guys, gota a very disturbing question to ask you guys. I own a 3yr old Fujitsu Lifebook S6120, and within a week i have experienced twice when my screen display was totally black when i powered it on. When i say black, the background could still be seen, as in my desktop wallpaper and icons, but it was as though the screen brightness was at its lowest. But the darkness was even darker than lowest brightness settings. Anyone has any idea wat's the cause? Is it serious? Pls help.

HI guys.. I've just got this fujitsu lifebook S6130
I know its an old model...but for normal websurfing, forum browsing and work stuff The first gen centrino's are best coz it has exceptional battery life (Banias) anyways... If any of you guys are familiar with fujitsu lifebooks this one has a panel at the top right of the keyboard next to the LCD panel. has numbers 1,2,3,4 and ENTER key. every time I power off and on the lappy its locked and I have to enter a security code like pressing "2" "enter" or "3" "enter" anyone knows how to disable this???? I cant find it in BIOS.... appreciate ur input Very Happy happy foruming |

Is there a place to find the price list for Fujitsu notebooks? Looking for one with PCMCIA slot to fit the Maxis 3G card, Core 2 Duo with a GC if possible, 2.4Kg or less, budget around RM4K. Most probably will buy at coming PC Fair.

My boss is using Fujitsu, so I know Fujitsu's quality. S2210 looks good, but 512MB RAM a bit stingy. Maybe during PC Fair there'll be a free upgrade to 1GB and some freebies. Anyway will the AMD X2 mobile chip generate more heat than Intel Core 2 Duo?

Going to place an order for an E8410 tomorrow.
Was actually deciding between this (E8410) and a Dell Latitude D830. Only problem is the 3-5 weeks delivery timeframe *sigh* Anyone here using an E8410? |

Hi guys ... I deal in laptops ... Just want to inform u guys that there is a new model called Fujitsu Amilo Pro ... Selling only RM 2999
The specs is quite good for its price ... But it comes with 3 years local warranty from Fujitsu instead of 1 year international and 2 years local ... One more thing ... Its made in Germany ... Where BWM comes from ... Core 2 Duo Processor T5200 1.6GHz, 2MB L2 Cache, 533MHz FSB 1GB DDR2 RAM (1 x 1GB) 120GB Hard Disk Drive 14.1" WXGA Superfine TFT LCD ( Super Shine View ) Intel PRO Wireless 3945ABG DVD RW Double Layer Drive Intel GMA 950 (Up to 224MB Shared Memory) 4 x USB 2.0, 10/100LAN, 56K Modem, Bluetooth, VGA Out, S-Video Out Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium Not Bad For RM 2999 ... By the way, its limited stock ... I think around 150 units in Malaysia This post has been edited by eddy230379: Jul 29 2007, 01:29 PM |

Searched and found that there are 5 models of Amilo Pro, V3205, V3405, V3505, V3515, V3525/3545, so which one is RM2999? V3505 got PCMCIA which I'm looking for. Still considering between Fujitsu cos the Dell fellow is so slow to come back to me on Latitude D630.

highpoint is the service center that services the amilo pro ... it is also a part of servex ... currently servex is the only 1 distributing this model ...
last time only micro-d has fujitsu ... but now servex has become a fujitsu partner ... so dont worry bout warranty ... it is still considered by fujitsu cos it is a local warranty only by the way ... cheers mate ... Added on August 4, 2007, 12:22 pmanyone found anything interesting at pc fair so far ??? This post has been edited by eddy230379: Aug 4 2007, 12:22 PM |

(like zz.. zzz.. zzz..) when i run hdd test, sound getting noisy than before.. is tht normal for hdd reading disk sound? I hav run the scandisk on Windows, n found no bad sectors. Wht probably cause this thing happend? Wht shuld i do then? Any helps r very much appreciated. Thx |

I hope this thread stays alive... coz I just bought me a P7120
this is my second Fujitsu. I sold off my 4.5 year old S series 6130. What I can say about this lappy... Pros: Seriously portable with internal DVDRW drive Quite as hell frozen over due to its fanless design Amazing battery life 5-6hours on normal use with WiFi Cons: a little on the warm side. |

Hi guys, I own a Fujitsu S6130 which I bought in August 2003, so it's easily 4 years old. Just wondering, I plan to send it for some serious servicing before I go back overseas for studies, so can anyone tell me if I could go straight to the Fujitsu office for service? Anyone with any experience? Also how about the cost?

Hi, would you recommend P1610 or U1010?
While U1010 is temptingly "cheaper" than P1610, P1610 has a more accessible "normal" keyboard than U1010, a DVD drive, and Windows XP. What do you think? |

Hi guys, I have always been a fujitsu user.
Have used the p1 series, p5 series, s6 series and s7 series, each lasted me at least 4 years, I then purchased a A3110 to try their budget laptop (attracted by the screen) and now I have been placing the laptop on my bed (sometimes on top of my blanket) for a few days, running music and playing video. My room temperature is around 27 degrees cel and the laptop has never gone above 36 degrees. Apparently it has one of the best ventilation system compared to the older series. Anyone of you noticed this too? |

I've checked with local retailers, asking whether they can downgrade U1010 from Vista to XP, and they say "Not possible." Is it true? Why is it not possible?

for Lifebook S7111 it is come with only 1gb ddr667 ram,but u still can upgraded it to 2gb ram.and it come with extra battery as well.
fujitsu lifebook come with good quality and it is suitable for user that want worry free notebook.u wont get big trouble when u use fujitsu lifebook. if u use it for just for study use and some light gaming,i think is already sufficient for it |

Looking for some help from S2020 user
My S2020 giving me strange problem, when i log on to website with flash e.g celcom.com.my or digi.com.my or youtube.com my S2020 CPU Usage will increase to 90%-100%. Then when i checked CPU temperature using 3rd party software - Lavalys Everest (can be downloaded here http://www.majorgeeks.com/download4181.html ). The CPU temperature will risen up to 80deg Celcius - 90deg Celcius. Any S2020 user here could help test this task on their S2020? I had changed the CPU fan to new 1, but this problem still happened. QUOTE 1. Open Task Manager - (press [Ctrl + Alt + Delete] button) 2. go to www.digi.com.my Check the CPU usage? High or Normal? Other is - dowload Avalys Everest Home Edition http://www.majorgeeks.com/download4181.html Install to your S2020 > start the application > goto Computer > Sensor Check the CPU Temperature Dont worry about the Everest software, its not a virus or mallware program - http://www.lavalys.com/ Hoping you can help me, because Fujitsu claimed its normal for S2020 (low end model) to get high temperature/CPU if open website with flash.. And I just cant accept their statement.. unless other S2020 user reported the same outcome. This post has been edited by maiself: Jan 4 2008, 11:49 AM |

I'm not sure whether this question has been posted before. I bought a Fujitsu S2210 notebook that came with Vista Basic. I downgraded to XP complete with drivers but I have problem with the application panel tho. Not 1 of the button works. I'm sure I've installed the right Application Panel/Touch Button Application software from Fujitsu site: www.fujitsu.sg
Please advise. |

Hi. I just bought a Fujitsu S2210 AMD Turion X2 TL-52 1.6gHz 1 week ago. It's actually a used model. Around 7 months of age I guess as this model is introduced in July/August 2007.
So far this model is working great. It generates less heat than even some laptops with Core2Duo processors esp those without Centrino tech. I'm just wondering whether this model come with the 1+2 years warranty as other models? I asked the the seller but he has no idea. And the lcd frame is producing a 'loose' kinda sound when I open the lid. The creaking sound I mean. Can I refer this to Fujitsu to fix it as I'm afraid the loose frame will eventually hit hard on and crack my lcd. Thanks. |

QUOTE(Caz @ May 12 2006, 08:25 PM) to eelyn, Regarding the HP/Compaq laptop: HP is the current leading manufacturer of laptops, delivering a full customer configuration at the same time without very much compromising the quality. Full configuration means u can configure your laptop to be a gaming machine or as a simple multi-tasking laptop. In term of design, HP is at par with VAIO and even transcend some VAIO laptops with the Verve Imprint and upcoming Asian Odyssey edition. On durability wise, HP has gained considerable number of complaints esp on their heat problem esp Pavilion line with dedicated graphic and also cracked lcd display. Nonetheless, in line with HP drive to make 'Computer Personal Again', new Pavilions has been coming out with more sturdy architecture notably, the DV2500, DV6500, DV9500 above and esp not to forget the Business series eg NX and Compaq B series. Compaq specifically the Presarios are marketed at low-budget consumers but with a surprisingly aesthetical design. Compaq Presario V3000 is one of the Red Dot design award winner. u know.. i think when someone is new to notebooks , meaning a first time buyer of notebooks ( just like me a month back) , its important to get a good and branded notebook so that you will not be dissapointed in it and thus leads towards the condemnation of notebook brands and stuff. Nevertheless, if one is a business oriented user, who care less about the design but more on the durability and life-year, a ThinkPad is the 1st choice tho with the fact that they are now built in China. Fujitsu and Toshiba Portege offer a par choice but with better design and price-value. To quote one of the forumer here in LYN. "FUJITSU or NEC or THINKPAD; HP or SONY VAIO; ASUS or TOSHIBA; ACER or DELL (excluding the XPS)" This post has been edited by ALIMUS: Jan 29 2008, 08:09 PM |

i have problem with my 1 year plus S6240. It randomly freeze, and i have to hard restart it. Mouse, keyboard and everything not working, although the screen still freeze show my desktop.
so i format it, i though got virus or etc. after format it still randomly freeze which very hard for me to know what is actually gone wrong since it freeze anytime it want. check everything hdd, memory, temp all ok. so i think maybe hdd problem. so i took out the 80GB hdd, and put my external 120GB hdd. also randomly freeze. haiihhh means not OS, not software, not hdd.... i play video file, looks find... but freezee when i play audio, or even using photoshop while online. now im not sure what is happening, what could be the problem? is it memory faulty? is usb make it freeze? (since my modem is via usb, i have usb mouse, and usb cooler - all working). if motherboard problem will it freeze or completely die? some say power supply - does it mean my power connecter on the laptop problem or the plug on the wall problem or? Please help. |

Hello, I just bought my FIRST laptop. It's a fujitsu esprimo V5535.
I got a question, is it normal the cpu fan will have noise? I remember the first day I did not hear any noise, only starting yesterday I notice the cpu fan noise during midnight quiet enviroment. If the cpu fan noise is abnormal, what should I do? The salesman said the first week usage if found manufacturing defect, he'll replace a new unit for me. But I installed so many things ready..... |

QUOTE(geeayao @ Apr 23 2008, 06:23 PM) I'm a S2210 user; got it since august 2007. Yeah, the battery is disappointing... with only about 1.5 hours with wifi and 1 or 2 apps runnin. Not enuf at all if you're on the road half the time. But otherwise, it's a great lappy are you on 2x 512mb? Can anyone advise on the price of fujitsu RAM? I'm thinking of upgrading from my current 1gb to 2gb lah. or just 1GB? mine is 2x512mb. if upgrade to 2GB, i need to get 2x1GB, and throw away my 2 x 512mb. if im not wrong, im also got ask about the price. it's about RM200 - RM300 got change i will ask again the fujitsu at low yat. |

just bought Esprimo U9200 this week... ehehe im selling my old Lifebook S2020.
This Esprimo are Made in Germany compare to other Fujitsu variant which is Made in Japan. My S2020 also suffered from poor battery life. I think the only thing u can do to preserved longlife battery... u need to take off the battery n use power adapter when working long hours with the laptop... to be save.. plug the adaptor to UPS, when ever theres is a blackout or something, ur laptop will still running. |

UPS will cost u around RM150-RM200-RMxxx, beside that, it can also protect ur laptop from lightning surge. New laptop battery in other hand will cost u around RM300-RM400+. So I think, RM150-RM200 for a UPS is a good investment, unless u use ur laptop for 1 year then change to a new 1.. |

Any price for a p1610? My mom just got one, i think it's pretty crappy, don't like notebooks so much, but she claim she got it for rm 7k is that ok? The touch feature is not very sensitive, and it doesn't respond to finger touch very well.

No regret p/s: please don't buy acer.. u will regret big time Added on September 29, 2008, 9:29 pmAlmost forgot, V1020 will definitely be your budget lappy... now they have promotion it's around RM2900 This post has been edited by icegal: Sep 29 2008, 09:29 PM |

Was it preinstalled with Windows? What's the battery rating (mAh)?Initially i thought of getting dell or compaq or hp... but i see they are abundance in lowyat like it's lost its value.. so i turn to Fujitsu and got a surprisingly good price for it. Yesterday I went to look at the local distributors and saw that they only sell v1020 without OS for RM1999. I also noticed that they stated battery for 2000 mAh instead of 4000 mAh from website. Out of topic, I also saw Lenovo Y410 and it is currently my first choice |
