i have a fujitsu s2020. what i can say is that, it gets rather noisy whenever i connect anything to it's usb port (except the mouse). the fan will start spinning madly too when i play moderately-graphic-intensive games, like Fate. and recently, the fan on my lappy went bonkers. from the sound i heard, the fan was spinning way below it's normal speed. had to send it for repair, rm120 for labour charge. got the lappy in 2004. shakehead.gif

and the lcd indicator, which displays if ur caps/num lock is on, battery, etc, is so 'strategically' placed that it's rather useless if u put the lappy on a table tongue.gif. with an AMD processor in it, i hardly place the lappy on my lap, else i risk frying my eggs.

s2020 model owner here smile.gif
just sent my lappy for fixing
where the led indicator is broken which they say it will cost rm 60

and my fan is dead -- rm 100 (labour fees)

day b4 i collect the laptop.. i received a call saying that they have change my whole mainboard.. without any charges.. coz the fan in embedded together

odd. i have the exact same problem as u, although the broken lcd indicator was made by me biggrin.gif. they quoted rm80 for the lcd indicator (didn't bother to change, not useful anyway) and rm120 for labour charges. u got rm20 discount on everything? mmmm

hey, does anyone know how to open up a fujitsu s2020? in my previous post i mentioned that my laptop was sent for the fan repair. ok, so i paid rm120 for the labour charge and they replaced my fan. got back the laptop after 2 days. but i really only started using the laptop again 2 weeks later (i live in malacca, lazy to go back to kl to get my laptop back).

and guess what, after using it for 3 days, all of a sudden, the keyboard malfunctioned. suddenly my s, t, 7, F10, comma, back slash and a few other keys stopped working. i went into a fit of rage. my bolster and pillow flew zig zag across my room, but they keyboard was the same. i reformatted my laptop, but they keyboard was still the same. called up fujitsu and they said their engineer need to check what's wrong, and after that they'll decide whether to charge me another rm120 wacko.gif . bought a usb keyboard for rm17 to calm myself down.

so does anyone have any experience in taking apart a fujitsu s2020?
