I went there today also.. saw this S2110 also. But it's AMD turion.. is it ok? I'm not sure whether it will be stable but the salesperson said got 3 yrs warranty. Anyway, i paid RM100 for booking fee. At this moment, mine will have 1GB ram and they free mouse and USB bluetooth.. all at 4230 (coz of the RAM). What do you all think? Is it ok? Please let me know if i should get a better deal then i go there tmrw again to negotiate Thanks a lot.. ~ IvY ~ This post has been edited by PoisonIvy82: Aug 12 2006, 11:32 PM

QUOTE(visioncatz @ Aug 13 2006, 06:48 AM) Hi, I am using S2110 since May this year. Performance wise, if for work; it is satisfactory. If for multimedia, then requires higher RAM. Besides that, one thing I noticed about this unit; everything is made in Japan. Even NEC's models are mainly made in China. Perhaps except 5110 (think this is the model). Travel around with it for work, is ok as well. Hi.. thanks for the input. Hm.. i think it should be ok then.. i need it for work also but occassional multimedia things. That's why i wanted to upgrade it to 1GB Ram. Well, i will be collecting mine this coming Saturday. I can do it earlier but don't think i have the time to go there during weekdays though. Will see how it performs.. ~ IvY ~

QUOTE(mel5582 @ Aug 14 2006, 11:05 AM) So far my s2110 got no problems after collecting it back. I've uninstalled Sonic burning software entirely, and installed Cyberlink's Power2Go. Really good software to use.. as for the drive sensitivity issues, so far I've been using Taiyo Yuden discs.. and they're working well, not sure about my Riteks though, will have to try them out later. Anyway, if you're having doubts about the s2110, you shouldn't.. if you plan to use it mainly for work, perhaps this machine will make you a proud owner. For multimedia and movies, my 512mb RAMs are enough to run HDTV encodes too.. not to mention 1gb! So, I think it's a good buy @ RM4230, cuz mine already cost me RM4199 for extra 256mb RAM. Hi Mel, Thanks a lot for the assurance. I hope i am doing the right decision. I wanted to get the XPS initially but when i saw it during the fair.. it was like.. not nice at all. It is to a point that i don't think i can see myself taking it out of home and using it anywhere else other than my home.. ~ IvY ~

Hey guys..
I got my S2110 already.. and i totally love it although i think it heats up very fast. Does that happen to anyone's? Another thing is, when i use the CD/DVD player to install programs, that heats up very fast and very hot also.. Is that normal?
Thanks..

Hi William.. Thanks for the reply.. but i used a compaq before but i bought it like in year 2002.. it's not as hot as this. It will get warm.. but this one is like.. the whole key board is hot.. and i'm so scared tht it will explode or something.. like the dell laptop.. hehe.. phobia de.. But, if it's really normal..then i guess i just have to live with it.. When i saw it in PC Fair, it's not hot but ok la.. warm warm but mine now is like.. hot hot.. So, just checking whether it's a common thing..
