I have an old past year Physics book in Malay , which has questions from the 80's to the 90's . Very interesting stuff , especially if you're a Physics geek like me .  tongue.gif

Logarithms in simultaneous equations ? Wow .

thats why he said that how can anyone not get A in add maths and physics if compared to his days standard? tongue.gif

Can I not use 5C4 instead , and just multiply by 5 ? This yields the same answer , but in proper Mathematics , is this acceptable ?

Thanks for the solution by the way !
hmm.gif How do you justify in choosing "5"? Where exactly does the "5" come from? You have to convince the exam markers that "5" is not your lucky pick or else ½-mark is a goner. In Permutations & Combinations, students are taught to use n!, nPr, nCr, and not supposed to list down all possible variations of things that can be arranged in certain manner. Remember that a Permutation is an ordered Combination. Perhaps, the following criteria are helpful in determining nPr or nCr :: icon_idea.gif

(1) Repetition is allowed
(2) No repetition
(3) Order doesn't matter
(4) Order does matter

In SPM , we are taught to use only Permutation for questions with key-word 'Arrange' , and Combination for questions with key-word 'Choose' or 'Select' . We are also taught to list down all possible variations . icon_question.gif

5 because there are 5 different combinations where UE ( treated as a single unit ) can be arranged .

I suppose if the size of the set is small, you can list down them clearly to show the obviousness! icon_rolleyes.gif

I see . Thank you , never thought of using Combinations in a
'permutations question' ! Always there to clear my doubts . notworthy.gif

Wow, awesome rclxms.gif . I have 2 STPM Further Maths books which are in malay, one of which consist of several past years questions, spanning from HSC'70 till STPM'80. But too bad I can't decipher them though, for now. Hope I'll be able to work them out when I'm in Form 6.

Moral is always my nemesis, finally managed to get at least an A- for my trial. I am always confused on what to write, especially the essay.

For essay question, it will be:
Watak+Nilai 1.
Watak+ Kata Kunci 1+ Situasi. Contoh.
Watak+Kata Kunci 2 + Situasi. Contoh.
Watak+Nilai 2.
Watak+ Kata Kunci 1+ Situasi. Contoh.
Watak+Kata Kunci 2 + Situasi. Contoh.

What I am confused is, can we repeat the situasi again and again(for 4 times in one essay)?
How about Contoh? All 4 must be different?

Another question is, I just need to give the 2 kata kunci in the structure questions except for 'Berikan definisi' question right?

Oh and one more, any example of question which we can't use Rasional and Bertanggungjawab?

mingissms I remembered that you mentioned Bio P2 . So for starters , can you come up with answers for this question ?

Why do humans require cell specialisation to perform a specific function , whereas a unicellular organism like Amoeba sp. doesnt ? [3m]

my physics teacher said that during his days, simultaneous equations has log in it

how do u get past year papers?

Wow, log in S.E blink.gif
Well, the education standard has been dropping for quite some time now. If you did the past years, you might noticed 05-06 is harder than the recent years.

Situasi can be repeated as many times as you want, as confirmed by Penang's head marker. For contoh, no, no repeats. Definisi, you write the whole thing, which includes the 2 KK.

'Ain't nobody got time for any text books .'

Feel like printing the quote out and sticking it on my room's wall . Haha . So , very very true . I only refer to books if the notes are not sufficient , or to revisit concepts which I've forgotten --- for example , preparing standard solution , different alloys and their composition , composite materials , etc .

Last minute modules prepared by GC from Science / SBP schools , catered for SBP students , scavenged by daily school students like us . smile.gif Check them out , I really like this year's Biology .

*
In Amoeba sp., substances such as oxygen and carbon dioxide can diffuse in and out of the cell due to its large total surface area to volume ratio. Humans have a smaller total surface area to volume ratio than Amoeba sp. Substances such as oxygen and carbon dioxide have to travel a longer distance throughout the body. Human skin is impermeable to oxygen and carbon dioxide. Hence, specialised cells are required to form specialised organs such as respiratory organs to aid in the transport of oxygen throughout the human body.

As you can see, it's all over the place and I employed the "write everything you know" method.
