I reckon you to focus on all the vital points(isi) in each subtopic that you have learnt by doing short notes, especially the ones that are gonna come out in the essay questions. After you have memorized all the points, then you should try out some exercise to refresh the information that you've stored in your brain. Btw,its a really good idea to refer to textbook than rely on your revision book, and doing SHORT NOTES really does help you if you're coerced to doing last minutes revision,GUD LUCK!!!! happy.gif

QUOTE(manutd96 @ May 1 2013, 01:40 AM)
Can anyone explain as to why the answer is D?
*
As you can clearly see,the arrangement of the bulbs A,B and bulb C is in parallel form. This is due to the fact that the current that flows from the anode has two pathways to reach the cathode: --->the 1st pathway is through bulb A ---> the 2nd pathway is through bulb B and C,which is connected in series. And as you can see, bulb D is arranged in series form that has been separated from the others bulbs,so bulb D will light up the brightest. Let me briefly explain as to why bulb D in series form is the brightest:

side notes: I=current

Let's say
bulb A=Ia
bulb B=Ib
bulb C=Ic
bulb D=Id
As I said earlier, bulb A,B and C is branched in parallel form, but bulb B and C is arranged in series form. So,the total current flows in parallel is: I(total)=[Ib=Ic]+Ia
Hence, the current supplied by the battery is as same as [Ib=Ic]+Ia
Since bulb D is in series, its current will be as same as the total current supplied by the battery, which also means that:
I(total current supplied by battery) = [Ib=Ic]+Ia = Id
As you can see,you can roughly estimate that the value of Id is much larger than Ia,Ib or Ic. And since the brightness of the bulb depends on the current,it can be concluded that bulb D glows the brightest, since its current is the highest among all of the bulbs.
I had done several questions that were as same as this,so I am quite sure that my theory is correct,if it is wrong, then kindly correct me. Hope you fathom the explanation. smile.gif

I generally enjoy Numerical Methods. You learned Newton–Raphson method the other day. It’s a powerful technique for solving equations numerically.

Numerical methods are techniques by which mathematical problems are formulated so that they can be solved with arithmetic operations. They are extremely powerful problem-solving tools. flex.gif

And they are capable of handling large systems of equations, nonlinearities, and complicated geometries that are not uncommon in engineering practice and that are often impossible to solve analytically. As such, they greatly enhance your problem-solving skills. thumbup.gif

It seems like Numerical Methods is quite interesting, btw I wonder if its tougher than Calculus or on par with it hmm.gif

Please complete TASK 3. Read the instruction carefully (especially the last 3 words) and refer to your textbook. Think correctly, but don't solve. Show me the formula first. You probably won't understand even if others give you the formula straightaway. You need to comprehend the first time for yourself.

Have you ever noticed either ∫ f(x) dx or ∫ g(y) dy? The integral ∫ g(y) dx in your case is invalid.

smile.gif You've did a very astute observation and btw, I concur with the fact that we should indulge in the questions and try to fathom and solve it before anybody else solve it for us, for it can ameliorate our mettle and at the same time improve our critical thinking skills nod.gif

Well, I certainly distaste my performance in this mid-year exam. I did lots of awful flaws and I even made several silly mistakes where I shouldn't cry.gif Nevertheless, I'm gonna try to do lots of revision in this upcoming holidays, especially for my BM and BI (I'm really weak in these 2 subjects). Btw, trying to remind myself everyday that SPM is really nigh unsure.gif

Guys really need help i having my SPMU on 12 June For BM Yet I still dont know what to study. can anyone give me some tips on what part to learn?
*
Well, I reckon you to revise on essay (karangan fakta), which is the 'Belly of The Beast' for BM, if not most. You see, if you could wisely find several points (isi-isi penting) or perhaps surf online and ask Mr.Google regarding the tips on how to write pendahuluan, isi or kesimpulan regarding any essay that you favour, you could simply master it without any coercion. For example, you can try to get as many points as you like regarding karangan that sounds like these : 'kesan-kesan penyalahgunaan dadah' , ' kesan-kesan pencemaran alam sekitar' and etc. If you're able to relate the subjects(person/people) into the karangan, for example: pihak ibu bapa patut... pihak kerajaan hendaklah... golongan masyarakat seharusnya... instead of just focusing on one point/person and superfluously elaborate it, then your karangan will get more flawless smile.gif

Thank you !

Wow! Looks like you're back and really pumped up,maximR, good for you thumbup.gif As for me, I totally flop in this mid-terms in the aspects of BM/BI and not to mention Biology, if you must know. Btw, its really good to see somebody like you try to muster up your spirit and get back into the track instead of looking back and feel regret or give up. You really motivated me,dude flex.gif

*Sigh* Finally, can't wait to relish this mid-year semester's holiday after a long and tiring battle, darn, all of the last-minutes revision did wore me out. Gotta make sure I never pull the same trick ever again in this upcoming SPM Trial or else I can just kiss my dreams of getting straight A+ goodbye bye.gif

Damn doh.gif It seems like only I haven't received any news or anything about the Kerja Kursus Matematik Tambahan, yet. I would really like to settle it this holiday if my teacher gave me the project, but it seems like I gotta occupy my holidays vacancy on other things though. tongue.gif

I guess you've made a little error there fellas, every student is obliged to complete the Add Math folio whether they like it or not, it's just depends on when do they have to do it, that's all there is to it. smile.gif

*
Well, I reckon your teacher keeps it as a secret out of personal reasons or, maybe because you guys haven't even question him/her anything regarding the Add Math folio, so he/she just keeps quiet about it, but sooner or later you will have to do it. Btw, I had no idea that your seniors haven't even got a clue about the Add Math folio. Anyways,FYI, the Add Math folio that we're dealing with in this year kinda resembles with our Kerja Kursus Sejarah Tingkatan 3.

There are so many trigonometric identities to remember if you're just starting to play with them , and deriving some of them is a tedious job .
*
biggrin.gif I'm concur with you biggrin.gif I still remember that I spent for about 20 minutes solving a rather confusing and mind-bending question that involves basic identities, but when I look up on the Internet and found an exactly similar question with the ones that I faced, I realized that, its not that confusing or extremely hard, but its rather very tricky, and all it needs is 5 to 6 simple steps to solve it rclxms.gif I reckoned that basic identities is more of a puzzle-solving question rather than a pure mathematical question.

recently I found this youtube channel which is quite useful for SPM students. But it only have Maths and Add Maths.. >.<

Msia Free Education

And they even categorized their Add Maths video chapter by chapter in the facebook page
Y=mx+c

Btw Edunation Malaysia also provide numerous tutoring videos that are quiet helpful too thumbup.gif Unlike Msia Free Education which focus solely on maths and Add Maths(though the tutoring videos are really helpful), Edunation Malaysia covers variety of subjects that range from the pure science subjects(Physic,Biology,Chemistry) to accounting subjects rclxms.gif

biggrin.gif Finally, I'm back from my long hiatus of vacation during the first week of holidays. In other words, I still have about less than 1 week left before I'm back to school. Seems like time really flies away faster this time. Anyway, can anybody help me solve this question that I faced,by the way its SPM chemistry chapter 4(Thermochemistry)Attached Image

In the given equation, 1 mol of water is produced and 54.6kJ of heat released. When 27.3kJ of heat is released, how much water is produced? The volume of KOH follows.
*
Oohh, I get it now rclxm9.gif,thanks for your guide. By the way, this is how I solve it,hope its correct :
1 mol of water = 54.6kJ of heat released
so, 0.5 mol of water=27.3kJ of heat released

According to the thermochemical equation, 1 mol of KOH reacts with 1 mol of ethanoic acid to form 1 mol of water.
So, 0.5 mol of water is formed by the neutralization of 0.5 mol of KOH with 0.5 mol of ethanoic acid.
number of mol of KOH=MV
0.5 mol =(2)V
V=0.25 x 1000
=250cm3

rclxms.gif Yeah, finally complete chapter 4 thermochemistry, looks like I only got 1 chapter left before I can complete the entire syllabus of Form 5 Chemistry. I really hope to finish the whole thing by the end of this weekends, though I lack in doing exercises and questions regarding the Form 5 Chemistry, which will do nothing good to me even if I'm able to finish the whole syllabus. And not to mention that I studied really really slow, which irritates me doh.gif Currently I'm entering chapter 5 (Chemicals for Consumers) in the topic of preparation of sodium alkyl sulphate and sodium alkylbenzene sulphonate(it really gives me a big headache just to fathom its formation of long-chain hydrocarbon),by the way I just wanna know how're you guys progress during this holidays? Anyways, make sure you guys have fun and relish this holidays, though thumbup.gif
