Why ping so bad shakehead.gif hmm.gif

Usually local ping <150ms and international ping <350ms

Added on December 18, 2012, 11:45 pm

I have no idea.. so I used setting 5 as suggested in the first post.. it was ok for a bit (with crap ping)..

please refer to the pic below.. i need to reboot the router as i cant press connect in order to connect to the internet - due to the router trying to identify the modem.. icon_question.gif icon_question.gif icon_question.gif

I ditched N16 and looking at this now

http://www.draytek.com/.upload/Demo/Vigor2130/v1.5.2/

play around with the demo and you also can use it for Fibre in future

current promo price rm480 , no need to flash Open/DD Wrt, its Os is powerful yet user friendly unlike Mikrotik

Higher end models cost > a few k's  sweat.gif
*
Yep, it is user friendly unlike mikrotik. But Mikrotik also can do 3G load balancing, you just need a dual usb hub.

btw, I take mikrotik because of their hotspot and user management. Does draytek have hotspot function too?

neway, waiting for Asus RT-N16 with TomatoUSB firmware review  biggrin.gif

Sorry can't provide the review for Asus RT-N16 with TomatoUSB firmware cry.gif
Because whenever i save the settings and reboot the router, the router will soft brick sweat.gif
But it is working fine with DD-WRT

Right now the RT-N16 act as repeater bridge for my main 3G router, and i let both router run for 2 days without rebooting, it is still working solid.

wanted to ask my friend to purchase it for me, since he did sign up the kickstarter,..

the team really put in effort, and i test my friend dispatch, super user friendly,

can combine, wifi + Lan + USB port  all in, then load balance,. dont have to set anything,

super easy and user friendly, no more laggyness like old connectify too

planning to purchase one license for myself,.  icon_idea.gif

This sounds interesting. Too bad can't afford to subscribe two ISP at one time sad.gif
Else will try this toy out

QUOTE(chuahcs79 @ Dec 18 2012, 05:40 PM)
Connectify Dispatch can do a better job to load balance & combine all your internet together than that router alone, and also much more user friendly  brows.gif
*
But hardware load balancing will be more stable right? hmm.gif

last method, check via direct cable without using router...try to get the rssi..this very important to know your signal is ok or not...do speed test...then back connect using router.

so far i dont face any issue with my method.. nod.gif

try to do new setup for your router if u still take time too long to connect.
otherwise paste your system log file here as i can make comparison with mine notworthy.gif

i afraid not, as i also done some research and was told that Mikrotik RB751G-2HnD only read from one USB Modem although you plug in a "live" usb hub to connect 2 usb modem but Draytek will do Load Balancing with its Vigor 2130N

price of Mikrotik = rm350 and Draytek 2130N = rm480 ( promo price) ~ actual price = rm1.xxx

Sure? Coz I just read somewhere in other forum that he try to do 3G load balancing. Perhaps I still not read carefully till last result. hmm.gif

Well, maybe you can try draytek instead. And don't forget to update its performance here. I'm looking forward to it. nod.gif

The differences is HUGE!
Draytek is aimed for hardcore user where it has loads of function where mr3420 does not have.

Well, that depends on our beloved Maxis tower and the area. Theoretically it will enhance your surfing experience and draytek routers comes with a solid firmware which promises stable performance. You can check it out in here:

The hardchoice is Mikrotik or Draytek now hmm.gif

MR3420 is for beginner which got less budget and not that kind of geeky.

But for the hardcore users, go for draytek biggrin.gif

Since I am resurrecting my ADSL/Fiber soon, might get Draytek and Load Balance my Maxis. rclxms.gif

I think going for Unifi.

Maxis fiber will be having issue soon since the infrastructure is not owned by Maxis.
