The hardchoice is Mikrotik or Draytek now hmm.gif

MR3420 is for beginner which got less budget and not that kind of geeky.

But for the hardcore users, go for draytek biggrin.gif

Since I am resurrecting my ADSL/Fiber soon, might get Draytek and Load Balance my Maxis.  rclxms.gif

The Man is setting a New Benchmark now.

Fibre as main and Maxis as backup via Balancing.

dont forget that u are still using the same USB modem even though using it with Superb Router,

and Maxis do load balance & Soft Cap on your speed

so spending and buying expensive router wont really get you any higher speed than your current,..

unless u are using fibre, then that would be another whole new story,..

otherwise for 3G/4G,.. Tp Link 3G /4G router would be enough,.

Honestly speaking

Changing a router won't make a difference on your speed unless you using cap ayam router.

But a better router will improve the stability which thanks to TP-LINK unstable stock firmware which can be solved through OpenWRT.

A better router is for those who need those extra load balance features and stability which I know the MR3420 is never able to be a hotspot + DHCP router (tried one day 20-30 users and you can see WiFi problem) nod.gif

But changing to a better modem or improving the signal would make significant difference smile.gif

totally spot on notworthy.gif

changing to best modem or adding 1~2 antenna will make major speed increase

compare to using same usb modem with better router

Means your modem hate the antenna which do happen in certain case

Eg E367 never works well with panel antenna.

Maxis E372 known to having issue, ddr3 kena before but another user no kena.

or just purely luck differs, wireless RF sometime is really unpredictable.

And because having said that ( the bolded part ) you are oggling over Vigor2310n with its attractive pricing now. icon_idea.gif Sincerely this Vigor2310n is selling at > rm1000 in other country now, Draytek is "attacking" the local fibre market and because of it they strategically do a "Loss Leader" to "burn in" the local fibre market .....go grab it b4 the promo runs out.......you can balance it with your YES now as it can support dual usb now.........as for Mikrotik, they are no where near it with this pricing, no need to mention Asus RT-N66U (rm650)

The price sounds slightly overpriced to me although it is a lot cheaper than overseas since I am able to reproduce those feature in OpenWRT with 1043ND if I am not lazy. tongue.gif
But I might just change my mind if the poison is strong enough brows.gif

I need to do some homework on the 3G compatibility part, worry later incompatible with my lovely E398 wub.gif
And some modem with bad packet management would slow 3G down, specifically TP-LINK MR3020 doh.gif

I am very confident with Mikrotik performance actually since I used in my past hotspot project yet it is RM3XX only.

Speaking about hotspot, does draytek has hotspot function as well? hmm.gif

I can see Web Portal function in the demo, I think it is same function as mikrotik hotspot?
