I'm the the process of soupping up my ride..I'm pretty sure it can keep up with the rest of the super bikes
Ok tech question...let say 11-23t cassette is best suited with a compact crank or a standard crank? What about 12-25T? This post has been edited by mrjgx: Nov 21 2012, 03:02 PM |

QUOTE(mrjgx @ Nov 21 2012, 03:01 PM) I'm the the process of soupping up my ride..I'm pretty sure it can keep up with the rest of the super bikes there is no which is best.. it is up to whether you like the combination of the mix and match and whether you find too many cross gearings between both?Ok tech question...let say 11-23t cassette is best suited with a compact crank or a standard crank? What about 12-25T? if you really never find yourself in a 25T at all... you can risk a 23T where you find with each jump of the cog your cadence don't fluctuate too much... jumping from small ring to big ring in a compact is no difference except you do lose top end speed with a 50t compared to a 52t, 53t or even a 55t... just a few Ks here and there anyways... it's just a point of finding the middle ground... i would rather change cassette than to change cranks as cassette is cheaper and easier to swap or you can have multiple set of same wheels with different cassette so you can swap in wheels for the ride that you are going to that day... crank on the other hand is harder... Question from a noob.
What is ideal tyre pressure for roadie and what is the no go range and need to to up? Too lazy and hand tired to pump almost every week. Again noob question here, I have a leg/hand pump, having difficulties in doing it right, either the air won't go in initially or getting the inlet valve wrong and air leaking. Can get it done eventually, but are there any ritual that I'm missing? How difficult (strength wise) and dangerous, cars and clip less shoe problem if has slot of stopping waiting for traffic. Really fancy a Sunday morning Bak ku teh ride to Klang, anyone interested for the future? Added on November 22, 2012, 12:51 amTypo error, if has a lot of stopping.. Forget to mention, from Bandar Sri Damansra to Klang, under the bridge. This post has been edited by Mac Wai: Nov 22 2012, 12:51 AM |

clincher tyres usually list max pressure at 120psi... most people get up to 110psi for a 700 x 23c...i ride at 90 pounds for my 700 x 25c...
pumping tyres should not be tiring assuming you have a good floor pump and not using a portable hand pump... pumps like the birzman zacoo have very light downstrokes at even 100psi pressure...almost effortless... else for a cheaper price, some topeaks like joeblow sport is also quite good for its price... i like topeak for its easy to use twinhead although many complain about the valbes reliability... clipless shoes are not dangerous... of course you do not start with them initially in high traffic areas... and even if you fall, it is mostly when you are coming to a stop where cars are slow too... worst case is you cause traffic obstruction... but always try to ride around safe environment first Added on November 22, 2012, 1:16 amdont understand what you meant by strength wise with the pedals... strength has no relation, it is more coordination than strength and you just do it until it becomes a natural reflex like driving a manual car This post has been edited by butthead: Nov 22 2012, 01:16 AM |
