carbon has stiffness but not tensile strength like their steel counter parts... it will break if it is hit with the right force and the right angle which explains the bar cracking as it was not design to take those sort of impacts...however they lay the carbon or whether they used unidirectional carbon cloth also will have a change.. just a decreased chance of bad news...

it's a compromise with carbon parts...

but, to crash a carbon frame to oblivion... the rider would never be coming out of it in any better shape anyway as the crash would be of biblical proportions in order to truly destroy a carbon frame...

fork is most likely the first thing to go in a head on collision...

u have to pump almost everytime u ride. pressure drop after maybe 2 days. what's ideal pressure? sheldon brown has some suggestions. pressure depends on ur weight, and front n rear have different pressure due to different weight distribution. another good article http://www.bikequarterly.com/images/TireDrop.pdf

i pump my front tire 7 bar, rear tyre 8 bar

Hello LRRH, nice choice for choosing Scott Cr1 comp. Good price point considering it is one of the sponsors for UCI team bike for 2012 and '13.
What is the total weight of the bike including pedal, did you get your Lbs to weight it,just for the know?
I didn't weight mine when I first bought it,so I wouldn't know what's my bike's actual weight is. Recently, I weight mine with my bathroom digital scale, it shows 7.8 kg +- 200 grams including lights and tube cage. Not a weight weenies myself.

i heard grain is not good in the sense that it causes inflammation and it's not good for joints or something like that...but not because of sugar or carbs...

what happens is that you need to know what sort of carbs you are eating as there is complex and simple carbs...

in fact, pasta is in the same category as whole gains as complex carbs... so, i don't understand much of the logic there..

with simple carbs, the carbohydrates gets broken down into glycogen for storing faster while the complex carbs takes longer (why, i don't know.. i just understand it the way it is...life is too short to question everything...why testicals produce sperm and ovaries produce eggs??? i dunno too... it's just why not)

in that sense, simple carbs means something that will give you an immediate boost of energy in a short period of timing while complex carbs will trickle it to you in a longer time span...

so.. an athlete will need to understand when to be taking in which type of carbs as it is a balancing act...

this explains why you need to carbo load the night before an event and most of the carbo loading is done with pasta and the type of slow carbs as it will take time to digest, convert and then get stored in time for you to use it hours later...

after an exhaustive session... simple carbs is good as it replenishes faster and allows for recovery process of your muscles to start...

my half bucket water knowledge... don't blame me if you lose your TDF...

No upgrades for the near or distance future? As it is, my bike is grossly under utilized.
