It is not a credit card, it is a credit facility given to the principal card holder. Instead of charging cash withdrawal fee + interest, they only charge interest on amount withdrawn. Interest rate is rather high

alright, now i see. luckily i never use it.
just abandon this card in my drawer only. rclxub.gif

Give a call to CS. Usually annual fee can be waived easily; not the GST.

I normally do it a month before. I have two Citibank credit cards, one is due for renewal in August and another one is in November. I usually ask them to waive the annual fees for both cards right away so that i don't have to call them for second time before November.

good morning guys, gals,

citibank just called me to offer rewards platinum card:

- within 2 mths, swipe 3 times (any amount) and the GST will be REBATE back to me
- first year annual fees waived

i suppose citibank is playing catching up now when consumers are flocking to other banks ... anyway, any idea if i should give this a try?

cheers ...

I would get a try to hold this cc since the bank offer u the GST can be offset no matter how much (no limitation amount need to be speed) u spend within 2 months. Some more, first year annual fees is waived. rclxms.gif

hello guys, gals,

terribly sorry, just got the email from the sales lady ... it's citibank cash back platinum, not rewards platinum ... she kept on talking about rewards, rewards & rewards over the phone so i thought it was rewards card ... but after received the email, confirmed it's cash-back platinum ...

but i think this is less attractive than ocbc titanium & maybank 2 amex right?

so, any existing citibank cash back platinum cardholder can advice?

cheers ...

I have this Citibank Cash Back Platinum. I only use it once in a while since i got my OCBC Titanium and Maybankard 2 AMEX/VISA about two years ago. There are months that i totally used up the 5% rebate (OCBC) and 5%+5TP (MBB2 AMEX), so these are the times that i'll use my Citibank Cash Back Platinum to pay for petrol.

If you don't spend a lot, actually having the OCBC Titanium MasterCard and MBB2 AMEX are good enough already. I still have to pay the credit card service tax for the Citibank Cash Back Platinum but the total cash back i get from this card (for petrol mostly) per annum is more than enough to cover the credit card service tax. This is why i am still keeping this card smile.gif

noted with thanx ... i suppose can keep this card as backup till the month of 10th, before decide if i should get rid of my standchart platinum business, which currently supposedly provides 15% petrol cashback ... laugh.gif

in the meantime, let me ask the saleslady if there's any free gift, as one of the forumners here suggest ... biggrin.gif

yea, you should asked for extra free gift as RM50 GST offset is too less. =X Every bank is giving that. biggrin.gif
I got RM200 sign up cash back last year Jan. And I heard last few month there is a 50% cash back for 1st purchase also.
Maybe you need to wait for sign up promotion.
