I've only one word for BANDAI....

Cheapskate.

Why spoil an otherwise beautiful model with the horrible old fashioned elbow joints? Those puny polycaps are never going to last, and it'd probably slide out when posing with weapons, esp those heavy rifles...

Meanwhile the Amatu is just same as any other astrays, with new backpack and head.... it looks real nice, but I won't buy an 1/100 with the price of an MG. Even with bling-blings.

preliminary finish of dodaiII 1/100 scale model...

was initially planning Bandai's 1/144 scale EX Dodai II in 1/100 scale but along the way I decided to make it more realistic(?) look than the stubby anime look in OVA. Also I extended the middle section bit too much to accommodate most of MG Zeon MS models - so far only tested with Zaku II, Zaku II F2 and Gouf Custom and don't think Dom will fit. tongue.gif
*
Wow yeah, your Gouf is looking real happy with the new toy you made for it tongue.gif . Realistic redesign, close to a real-life version. But I don't think Doms are ever meant to use such flight assistance... uber hovercraft feet, see? Skating's much cooler... laugh.gif

Not only cheapskate, but UGH... what the hell is wrong with the proportions of Bandai models these days? shakehead.gif Is there something wrong with their CAD programs, or do we really need corrective eye surgeries? My older 1/100 F91 looks much more gorgeous than this version. And the face?! Phail. Hope MG fine-tunes this 'masterpiece' before putting it through the production process... dry.gif

And I definitely agree about the inflated cost of the Amatu model, better buy an MG instead; moar satisfaction...

here to share my 2nd kit done in 2005.
Ok, first let me intro about this kits:
it is a upgraded fire power of EX-S, eliminating the transformable system to for lower body load (all wing have been eliminated). then replace the waist beam cannon with twin booster and add 2 propellant tanks to increase the speed and accerelation.
so it will become an assault/defend type MS, with high speed and great fire power. For assault, it attack deep into the enemy troops, destrop target(s) and retreat. for defends, the massive missle systems can easily eliminate incoming troops of MS and the Hyper Mega Cannon is a anti fleet medium long range weapon.
here is the japanese version of the background story (those who know japanese better pls help to check if i said anything wrong :shy: ):

ok here are the photo. please give your comments so i can improve. sure u can find a lot of defects and uncompleting works coz i really rushed to submit this kit for the competition. a lot of my first try in this kits like applying water decals(i screwed up this due to didn't spray the clear coat to protect it.)
maybe later i might retouch the kit again. thx!!

This is how the original snap fit kit look like:

I dun like the proportion of the head and shoulders, so the major mod are size down the head and enlarge the shoulders. others are details up, sharpen the face, vent, customized mega cannon, add missile pods, side thrusters, propellant tanks.

There is an MG Strike Freedom? I thought it was a 1/60?

That'd be cool in my 1/100 collection...

LOL... CAD program cacated...

However i think the new MG F91's head is better looking, although it doesn't resemble the original lineart. In fact it looks more like something from CE tongue.gif

Can you post a pic of your 1/100 F91? I've never seen one before, only a 1/144

After modding it, the body looks better... but the puny head.... aarrrrrggghhhh....

Mmm, about the helmet, I like it too, but I still favour the previous 1/100 F91's face, which accurately follows the anime lineart designs. The one shown in the prototype MG model from the pic you posted makes it look like the Gundam is holding it's breath or something, LOL; what the hell is with the bloated facemask? doh.gif And the MG openface mode reveals even moar yuck redesign. The original face shows a somewhat 'grim expression', whereas the MG prototype version shows a 'smug expression'. Ack! shocking.gif

See the pics of the original lineart of F91 below to see what I mean - the original designs had the nice vertical length of the face, and not the horizontal stretch of the MG prototype face.

O'rly? A 1/144 F91? I never knew such model exists, unless it's B-Club's garage kit, ant that was just the F77 G-Cannon. Maybe you'd mistaken the 1/100 for a 1/144; they are small, y'know: post-UC 0093 all MSs are scaled down from the standard 18m head height to the new 15m dimensions, so no surprise there.

It's a wonder Bandai took this long to finally venture into the 15m-tall MS domain. Maybe MG boxes can finally get smaller? (hence cheaper?) tongue.gif

So here's pics of my older 1/100 Gundam F91 as you requested (sorry if some of them are below average quality, my current camera can't take nice macro shots tongue.gif )

I suppose it's a 1/100 then, coz of the small size I thought it was an 1/144 tongue.gif Nice F91, but for 15m MSes I think V2 looks nicer... biggrin.gif Small and sleek with only the beam wings, although the assault buster makes it look bulky.

Duelling stand?

Yep, can't wait for MG to make the awesome V2 Gundam; if they do, hope they can replicate the transformation functions and still manage to maintain good proportions...

Anyway, Oy Yay!! My 3 recently-purchased model kits has finally marks the acquisition of the 180th model kit for my PlaMo collection. These 3 kits are also special because all of them are WAVE kits, and each kit is truly valuable to me, especially the rare 179th and the Uber-Rare 180th. rclxm9.gif thumbup.gif

May I present to all my fellow modellers, the 178th, 179th and the best of the 3, the 180th:-

(dj898 and Guyver, I know the two of you are probably the only ones here who're familiar with FSS, so I bet you guys know what model 179th and 180th really is... tongue.gif brows.gif nod.gif )

Of course, upon reaching the 180th mark, I believe I'll have to take a breather and stop making model purchases for the rest of the year, and concentrate on the kits and projects I'm currently working on. Not to mention after spending around RM600 on these latest 3, I'm pretty much moneyflies.gif , ha ha sweat.gif . So for the next half of 2006, I'm going to concentrate on restocking my savings, and aim for the one purchase I've promised myself upon achieving the 180th model mark: a complete airbrush set ph34r.gif . It's about time to get real serious, I say... biggrin.gif . Soon I can begin learning the art of airbrushing and be as good as dj898 cool.gif . Wish me luck.
