QUOTE(Fodder Soldier @ Mar 1 2006, 03:03 AM) Most likely MG will make a 1/100 scale of the F91, as that scale has been the staple size for Gundam models by Master Grade, so it might be small. Of course, if they're going to make it, but I don't see why not. of course BANDAI will be able to produce a smaller MG, but what I'd really like is a slightly larger F91... that way we'd be able to appreciate the details more... coz normally MGs will be slightly larger/taller/sleeker than the 1/100 counterpart, eg 1/100 freedom and MG Freedom....MG's venture into the 1/100 scale of 15m-tall MS designs can be forseen, due to the advancement in plastic materials and CAD solutions, so smaller, finer pieces are possible to manufacture these days. Hopefully MG will consider next making 1/100 scale models of famous Gundams such as Gundam Double X, Gundam F90 and V2 Gundam. MG V2 will be superb..... extremely superb....... loads of parts, loads of guns...... woot!! but i know there'll be a lot of fans waiting for MG justice (since it's such a good design) QUOTE(Vorador @ Mar 1 2006, 08:25 AM) What's the max post count in lowyat forum? MG SF? no...... no........ pls come out with MG destiny first........ it's time shinn's models got some respect BTW, I am waitting for the MG version of Strike Freedom (not that stupid light bulb version but for god's sake change the horrible 1/100 SF head.... hate that pear face. |

QUOTE(Fodder Soldier @ Mar 1 2006, 04:48 PM) BTW, since this thread isn't limited to Gundam mecha only, allow me to be the first to pitch in a non-Gundam contribution for this new thread personally i prefer mecha which look like mecha, instead of aliens... dunbine looks real weird... |

QUOTE(Fodder Soldier @ Mar 2 2006, 01:04 AM) Yeah, I concur that the mecha of Dunbine is hard to get used to at first; but after all, when its design first came out in 1983, the concept was entirely original: the first anime to incorporate organic mechas in a medieval setting. by the way... the master of 1/144 is back....... QUOTE(shumaky @ Mar 2 2006, 10:56 AM) Guys wanna ask you all some thing.. Is there any special twezers that you all use to snip off the pieces off the plastic thingy..? nail clippers... then use sandpaper or file... i prefer sand paper since it's flexible (paper mah)... but most of the time if u trim the sprues off nicely you wont really nice sandpaper. besides, sanding cannot be applied on dark surfaces, unless you want weathered effect My scisors just not doing a good job la.. coz when after you cut, still got some residue off the joints off the pieces like not smooth nia.. Its my first atempt at model fixing Need all the sifu's do n donts.. tips n tricks.. Cheers QUOTE(epsilon_chinwk86 @ Mar 2 2006, 11:33 AM) Get an MG Freedom. Not 1/100 Destiny just yet. Not really worth it. Try waiting and pray that Bandai's gonna relases an MG version of it soon. I have no confidence in BANDAI releasing a MG destiny soon... I have an 1/100 Destiny and i must say it's considerably well made... compared this to the horrendous SF and you'll get what i mean. Of course, unless you're really desperate to get Destiny, otherwise it's ok to wait for the MG.... most probably another year... andyxp: i'm planning to get a blue frame too..... but still a bit reluctant coz my wallet's a bit tight at the moment... but that is a good model with a wide range of articulations btw, nice red fframe....... panel lines perhaps This post has been edited by StarGhazzer: Mar 3 2006, 12:15 AM |

QUOTE(andyxp @ Mar 3 2006, 12:34 AM) im not desperate in getting a destiny.... but i like the colors and the concept of the sword and gun behind the unit.... thick lines aint a problem if u clean it before it dries up..... u could draw the lines first (they'll look thick initially), then using an eraser, gently rub over the lines, so that the top layer is rubbed off, while a thin line remains in the line pit/seam... alternatively, use ur finger (make ur skin a bit oily, not wet first)to rub the lines... but careful as it may smear...i wanna draw it.. but my lines are a bit think ler always.... im using gundam marker GM01.... but cant draw thin lines... how? sometimes magazines recommend spirits, but u dont know whether ur spirit is too strong or not, coz it may mess up the colored parts. QUOTE(Godevil @ Mar 3 2006, 02:43 AM) Any guide on how to rebuilt one? Wat material to use? and how the shape? meanwhile..... maybe i'd try this out http://www1.discuss.com.hk/viewthread.php?...&extra=page%3D1 This post has been edited by StarGhazzer: Mar 3 2006, 10:51 AM |

QUOTE(jhcj @ Mar 9 2006, 11:56 AM) HAY GUYS. for my 1/100 destiny, i added the red streaks beneath the eyes with left over red-stickers... My first serious attempt at modelling. Sorry lah if it's not really that good. All I had to use was the black Gundam Marker I bought for RM9.90. I wished I had a red colored marker as well, because I couldn't do up some of the details like the red vertical streak on the face and some of the weapon colors. |

QUOTE(jhcj @ Mar 10 2006, 01:04 PM) I tried with a cutting knife yesterday, but it's too hard! As it is, the 1/144 scale head is too small, so imagine the width of that streak. I think it's less than a milimeter. it is very small for the 1/144... the one on my 1/100 was around 1mm thick... hell had to cut it many times to get it right... and it ain't perfect anyway... look closely still can see the sticky edges...I gave up after a few tries. It's too darned small! Even if i managed to cut it out, the transfer of the sticker to the face is another headache. >_> other parts like shiny green or silver can be used for the gun sensors |

QUOTE(asuk @ Mar 17 2006, 03:43 PM) hmm..nice idea. but is it stable? i put my models on my bedstand and i dun wan em to fall when things go bump in the night it's quite stable, but of course you can't really compare to those with large wooden or metal bases. However, only hangers which are made of hard wire can be used, soft ones bend far too easily. eh, r u studying biochem? can see yur notes on the wall But I'm not sure whether you could put it by the bedside coz it might fall over it you push it. The part where the hanger inserts into the groin is sort of hard to bend to the right shape. If the fit is not snug, the model may be tilted towards one end. Like my Justice for instance, it tends to fall towards the left side quite easily. The one for the Destiny is more stable. erm... i'm not studying biochem... i'm into medicine... damn packed in this semester... Still haven't bought my desired blue frame |

QUOTE(asuk @ Mar 18 2006, 04:57 PM) GD = GODA deformed QUOTE(kingkong81 @ Mar 20 2006, 12:00 AM) Hey guys....suddenly juz wondering......seems like most of the Gundam Modelling Enthusiast (hope spell correctly yeah, it seems that there aren't many females involved in modelling, those I saw at model shops are all searching for kits for their boyfriends.Anyone know any Gals = female Gundam Modelling Enthusiast? Just curious I just splurged on a 1/100 blue frame for RM 115 on saturday... now my angpow money is officially gone, all used up for gundams, my driving license renewing, and the upcoming ball of my uni. the kit is superb The legs however are spendidly intricate, but a nightmare to build... instead of having the usual left and right pieces to snap together, the blue frame has much more parts... but i'm a bit disappointed as the small blade at the front of the foot looks like a spade rather than a sharp blade. Oh well... I'm asking too much... my progress is quite slow for it has so many individual parts. 4 hours into the model and I've only completed the upper torso, head, both upper limbs, and the right leg... so it's only halfway done... But it's worth my money... RM 115 for something which has so many parts, and a wide range of articulation. Now to think that 105 is what we have to pay for a 1/144 bling bling Akatsuki Maybe I'll have to splurge on a red frame to accompany le blue... well... then i'll have to sell off my justice or deathscythe... QUOTE(young_soul @ Mar 20 2006, 10:25 AM) an MG of IJ is totally out of the question, judging by BANDAI's strategy of making MG models. And since the CE line is not as popular as UC, there's not much chance of seeing any more MGs from it. In fact they haven't even made an MG impulse, let alone destiny or SF... There are conversion kits for MG SF though... the 1/100 HG is more possible, but the circumstances now are not encouraging as BANDAI is more comfortable in releasing 1/144s (at 1/100 prices QUOTE(kayint @ Mar 20 2006, 11:25 AM) for the difference between the 2 mechas, check it out at mahq.net.... under mecha - seed and seed destiny... |

half way done on my blue frame... damn broke the small orange piece of the left leg which is supposed to hold the dagger in place...
I removed the semi circular part which was supposed to be inserted below the mouthpiece coz it looked like a neck brace for cervical fractures. but the articulation is superb here's some with destiny's weapons... and also the normal red frame's shoulder armors. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v245/Sta...am/R0012015.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v245/Sta...am/R0012013.jpg |
