Even a numpty can even figure out that Miri is the birthplace of Sarawak and Malaysia's petroleum industry...so it seems logical to me that lots of Mirians are plying their trade in oilfield.

Solid material? I aint got No Jobstreet stats for you, this assumption is based on years of exp working in the field and having a group of closed knitted frens from Miri, not from Wikipedia browsing and watching Discovery channel all day long.

Miri has lots of potential in O&G. Lots of greenfields are coming up and I believe there will be lots of jobs opening in the near future.

Not really. But actually some small company can give more bonus than the big one. Form what I know, some O & G companies frozen their staff salary increment for the last 2 years. But now thing is getting better.

The supervisors and technicians work shifts. Dialog in Langsat Terminal-1 Johor keeps oil and gas for their clients in SG. they are like a "warehouse"
their job is to maintain those oil and gas at suitable temperature, mix them, store them, observe and report. They a few and huge of those tanks that acts as the "warehouse". You need to use a bicycle to get around. Currently they are finishing their 2nd Terminal and reckon they are looking for more people

They are very concern of safety and often have meetings with terminal engineer, superintendent, supervisors, technicians with the safety department, and terminal manager. all new technicians are under probation for 6 months (standard), if they don't like the way you do your work, goodbye. t

Dialog in Johor is not bad to work with. pay is not bad and you will learn a lot from superintendent, and terminal manager's feedback

you can look for Titan in Pasir Gudang too. though i heard they have been bought over by a korean company and may get their own korean technician and engineers to overlook titan. Titan's pay is good. starting 3k if i am not mistaken but very stessful
