Thanks for ur advise

they are offering me the position of hr exec. so which employment category is it?
*
well basically hr is the same for all companies
u recruit ppl and deal with works regarding employment
just google over the net

QUOTE(sulynne @ Jun 28 2008, 01:27 PM)
I was recently offered a position with Shell Miri. Just want to find out if Shell is that GOOD that it's worth shifting to Miri? Anyone working in Shell can share why you think Shell is the BEST company in M'sia?
*
i had a senior who breached petronas's contract to join shell and he has to pay 100k over a fortnight. so go figure.

Hi,

I've been following this thread for a while now. I am a recent graduate from The City University of New York majoring in Mechanical Engineering and I was wondering how the I get my feet into the oil and gas company. Most of the online postings for jobs in the oil and gas sector requires a number of experience and not many positions available for fresh graduates.

If any LYN members can point me to the right direction on where to go that would be very helpful.

I appreciate future help. Thank You....
*
well imho, u can try applying thru the respective websites for each o&g company. they are listed on the 1st post. big2 companies such as exxon, shell, petronas or even service companies such as slb, baker hughes, etc seldom put their jobs ad online via jobstreet, etc.

QUOTE(Y.K. @ Jul 26 2008, 12:11 PM)
need some advises, i get an offer from petronas based in miri, sarawak, and position as exec-production (hv 6 months bonuses and RM2.510K with 10% allowances). And another offer in a oil and gas consultancy as design engineer (small but growing company near klcc), they pay me only RM2k

so my questions are:
1. which prospect is better?
2. how is the salary's increment? after 5 years?

hope to hear from u guys soon, thanks
*
wow dude
are u even a scholar?
im still waiting for my placement and most of my friends already got their jobs with petronas
waiting is pain. lucky you.
and whats more u got into carigali miri (sko)
if it was me, ill definately choose petronas
i cant run away from them anyway

You probably hit the nail on SLB and Shell. But as for Petronas and Halliburton fresh grad pay, you are way off the mark.
