yeah sapuracrest. yeah definitely will go for interview first. drafting questions for myself that i hope would guide me in making the right choice. but would be great if anybody could share their interview exp with them.

field engineer would of course be on field. from my previous offshore exp, chatting with the field eng there, he said they work 3 months offshore then 1 month leave. they work in group of 5s and have shifts of about 14hrs.

geotech eng im not so sure. anybody can enlighten me on this position's job scope.

and also interview tips for sapuracrest would be great.

if geotech eng with sapuracrest petroleum, maybe u will be in TL Geotech. interview nothing much, u will take personality test..questionaires, normal interview stuff..
offshore allowance is RM110 per day on top of monthly salary.

Thanks! They'll give interview result within 2 weeks.
But really? Offshore allowance that low? Is that why I hear alot of TL Geotechnics engs leaving/left? I know I will have to face a pay cut if I was to work in MY but I didn't think even for offshore allowance. I have heard that offshore allowance for different local company rm200/day.
Now I'm having doubts even if I were to get the offer.
hmm.gif

Any comments on that?

I think should be fine..if you have years of experience, then you should go for other companies which pay offshore allowance in dollars. Else, just treasure the opportunity to gain experience.

walaw... there are two types of work in engineering world. it is either OPERATIONAL engineer or OFFICE engineer.

no wonder grads nowadays plenty are jobless. they just don't know the reality outside.

Actually, global rate for Master ( Foreign Going License ) is USD 1k if USD500 a day kene con lah lolx.

Also FMC would be a better platform to join international companies or rather for a chance to be placed overseas and also to get picked up by companies not operating in Malaysia. Ranhill, there's more local jobs.

For Sapura Crest, make sure the contract you sign is under sapura crest instead of TLG, But more likely than most you will get a contract to sign with TLG.TLG and TLO are learning / training grounds for Crest and other main cons.
