Why not Chemical Engineering for O&G (if you know you're entering this industry) and even wider prospect?

depends if u r hired into position or hired into training...

suggestion: dont take engineering

Depends.. as service providers yes, since all PLC running on PCBs. For operators, u can do maintenance or design, (FEED, BFD, etc)

yea...rolls royce is involve in oil n gas industry, they supply gas turbine compressor...maybe you can try tht co.

i applied through uni career fair ... you could try the slb website, or submit direct to KL office at Rohas ?

Thanks a lot..Already applied thru their website,no response yet at the moment. Hmm,there was an ad from Halliburton in The Star...
Sent application to the stated email add,but got reply from the postmaster --> recipient's mailbox is full.. How come? *sigh..
Any idea how to apply (instead of thru Halliburton website)?

Exxon grad pay in Msia is RM2.6k last I heard from a friend who works there.

en... hmm.gif actually this is something i wanna ask too. such as Electrical engineer can work as E&I engineer in G&O field, but even we work at offshore, we will really get pay as high as u all said?

it depends... high pay means high demands... contract jobs get higher... offshore as in platform/harsh oil field get more... office in ulu place, field job lesss... it all depends

Gas turbine engineers, or as they are called, rotating equipment engineers are aplenty. Good rotating equipment engineers (specialist) are few and far between (in malaysia at least). You have to know all kind/brands like the back of your hand... RR,Solar,GE,Dresser rand, Siemens.. most of the manufacturers' field engineers in malaysia are basically expats.. But, if u know how much even local specialist are paid, i think you would retract your statement..

i tot LAME guys earn a big bunch too. Also a specialist job. No offence depster666, I got a friend working as a rotating eqpt engineer and I come from aerospace background.
