QUOTE(mydragoon @ Oct 10 2012, 09:15 AM) just wondering... is there a second counter like what was discovered in s2? or this second or third counter has yet to be discovered?!? There is always a hidden counter which we normal users cannot see except the techThat is why i always say wiping the flash counter you can only deceive the counter staff who take in your phone but not the tech. If they want to void warranty they reserve every right. But 9.9/10 cases has been proven the service center still provide warranty FOC - it was so obvious with so many users replacing their Galaxy Note motherboard FOC due to flashing destroying the emmc partitions |

QUOTE(benny888 @ Oct 10 2012, 09:19 AM) Added on October 10, 2012, 9:21 am The current root and CWM method is even more simple than flashing using Chainfire method. Just use odin and flash a single file - you get root n CWM. CWM works well - i have tested backup and restore - perfect without any issue |

QUOTE(waveweaver @ Oct 10 2012, 09:28 AM) I just wonder whether Chenglu modified CWM is compatible to MobileOdin and the root survive once we flash new firmware.? some users in XDA reported successful flashing the UK latest rom ( with multi windows) using Mobile ODin. Some reported flash counter goes up while some said it does notI was unsuccessful using Mobile Odin to flash the UK latest rom But at least for now, i have no issues flashing custom roms and restoring roms using the chenglu recovery ( which is actually based on Chainfire clockworkmod recovery) |

QUOTE(gin&tonic @ Oct 10 2012, 09:02 AM) I think i5 & Note 2 are 2 different market segments. Don't think they are in direct competition. yes, agree. No need to compare a phone by marketing genius to another phone full of useful features. Those who has been brainwashed will always stick to their master. I am not geek or nerd but i only believe in values - whoever make a good phones with features that i need at a reasonable price, get my money. That's it, plain and simple. Product sales launch is not a big issue to them. Market share is pretty much predetermine by screen size as well as personal preference between fruit & robot. Apple has been successful in keeping their platform closed. So it is not an easy decision to jump to other platform if the users has invested in the contents (itunes) and apps. If not becoz of this, i believe its market share will dip even faster. Apple users dun jump ship not becoz they are loyal, it is just because of the money they invested in Apple platform. I have said that this Note 2 is the only Samsung phone i do not mind using the stock rom and stock Touchwiz UI. But i find the default UI homescreen gridsize 4X4 lacking and so i installed the mod 5X6 - which is just nice for me
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1923876 But this mod need rom to be deodexed and i flash wannam lite deodexed ( basically stock rom but deodexed ) rom for it |

QUOTE(benny888 @ Oct 10 2012, 09:19 AM) iphone users in Malaysia based on this report is only 0.46% of population. Uncle Benny,Many users think iphone base is large because they are in KL where most the iphone users are. In the iphone 5 thread you can read how angry and disturbed those iphone users are about late launching in Msia - i have pointed out that Malaysia is only a very small market for Apple - even with not a single set sold here; - to Apple is not an important issue. Comparatively Spore commands a 8.4% share vs its population. Those iphone users rants as if they are so important customer base fro Apple, which unfortunately is not http://asiancorrespondent.com/37156/iphone...ge-across-asia/ [attachmentid=3093039] http://www.marketing-interactive.com/news/32749 This survey summarised : symbian 34%, Abndroid 28 % and iphone 18% This is the best damned piece of information to counter any who spout "iPhone has the largest user base here". Useful pointer for all the rest of us. FWIW I still keep my Symbian N8 as a backup phone, using it now (after selling my Note1) in anticipation of my new Note 2. |

Just went to Maxis center to check whether I can sign a new contract with them since my existing 1 is gonna expire this mth.
The guy told me " Boleh sign contract baru. Tunggu lah ip5 dan note2. Dua-dua launch sekali..." So, maybe it's next week, really. This post has been edited by bluebeary: Oct 10 2012, 10:04 AM |

They are just overwhelmed by all the customisation of android. But after a week or 2, they are comfortable with it. IOS is more like a car with auto-transmission while for Android, most of the things are in Manual mode. So between auto and manual, each have their supporters. My wife's lady boss thinking of getting S3 as her children all jump ship to S3 already from iphone but i advise her not to, better stay with iphone as more suitable for her. |
