sup guys..for those noisy air pumps i got a solution u can try.

go to supermarket, buy the cheapest wet tissue/baby wipes pack and place it underneath the air pump. this should reduce the sound by at least 50%.

if not, take tissue, wet it and put into a plastic. then take a book and slam it hard onto the tissue so it will be flat.

i've been busy with studies lol, nice to see u all here.
i got bad news my 2 nemoes died cause i didnt realize my air stone was spoiled hence making my protein skimmer ineffective. the bubbles coming out of the airstone were too big.

currently now i have 1 annularis angel, 1 skunk shrimp, 1 blue green chromi and 2 nemoes woo.

Hi all of the seniors of keeping marine tank, i am new here in using this forum and in marine tank.

I would like to ask you guys opinion or suggestions to clarify everything the marine tank needs. Recently i just started with a 1.5 feet tank. i put 2 live rocks and sand bedding has been done. The shop i purchased the livestock and equipment from said that there is few things needed to buy to maintain a healthy marine tank.

I bought Ph and Kh test kit and the powder of each, tension gon, Sera bio reefclear, Live water, Kent Purple Tech.. and to confirm. Is the lightning with white light suitable for corals and other marine lives?

Currently i only have a filter. The shopkeeper told me that skimmer is not needed in small or nano tank as mine.

Hope you guys could guide me in setting up a successful tank. Your suggestion and reply is appreciated. =)

small tank don't need skimmer, you can change water regular which is more effective and doesn't cost much, bigger than we need skimmer because of the water volume.

er hrmrm. 1.5 x 1.5 x 1.5 ft tank? quite small, bigger the tank the better for newbie IMO, cos changes are less drastic.

i would suggest you not go into corals just yet but if it sparks your interest, can get those cheap cheap ones (sorry, donno their names. had them before. damn nice).

i had a 2x 1 x 1 tank before, no skimmers needed. i didn't even use filter. just 1 pump with minimal fish and such.

the fish aren't particular about lights but the corals are, so depending on WHAT coral you're getting since corals have varying requirements from lights, to currents, to temperature.

I still don't know what happened. I remember do 30% water change in the morning but after 12-13 hours later it happened. Could be ammonia spike....

Your aquarium no sand ah? How come the tank can break?

Hi all, Im AL da Great , more into snakes especially pythons. im helping a fren here who in charge of Weekend Morning Talk show called Hujung Minggu Malaysia aired on TV1 from 7.30am til 9.30am.

They have this segment called Aksi Si Comel, where every Sunday, one animal will be appeared in the segment with the owner. The hosts will ask the owner about the basic care of the animal. The purpose of the segment is to educate people the right way of keeping animals.

Here is the detail;
Name of the Segmen: Aksi Si Comel in Hujung Minggu Malaysia
Tv Station : RTM
Channel :TV1
Language: Bahasa Malaysia
Duration: 5-7 minutes
Storyline: The host come to your place, then straight to ur animal cage, interview owner abit about food, basic care n such then the host will go back

Before this the owner have to come to Angkasapuri Kuala Lumpur to join the segment but this time , they want to visit your house coz based on their experience, bringing the animal to the studio will make them stress.like before the host will ask basic husbandry about the animal and wanna see how animal keeper kept their animal.

If you are interested to appeared in the show, do PM me for more detail ya.

p/s Azazel, Aros , Crazymouse, Rafigos, Camillenoir, Uzairi has appeared in the segment before.

Based on my noobie experience there are several reasons for that, depends on what do u mean by "not clear looks":
if u mean the water cloudy (white), it could be bacteria bloom.
if u mean the water looks brownish, it could be due to algae which grown in your tank.
if u mean there's lot of small particles floating in the water, it could be inefficient filtering system and poor water circulation.

I normally wipe the tank glass inside & outside whenever i saw my water getting cloudy...most of the time it's due to dirty glass..after few minutes, the water looks great... icon_rolleyes.gif
