Hi,

Nice to see marine hobbyist here. I've 3 feet marine tank, 3 months ago it was nice but suddenly on the midnight when I go to look after the aquarium (remember actually wake up to watch World Cup - France vs ..... at 2.am).... all the fish dead but managed to save only 1 tomato... pity no more friend for him... haha.

Here the picture before the 'Tsunami' happened:

I still don't know what happened. I remember do 30% water change in the morning but after 12-13 hours later it happened. Could be ammonia spike....

Your aquarium no sand ah? How come the tank can break?

What is your aquarium equipment? If that happened when you do Water Change, switch on you light, heat from light will faster the process.

Did you use phosphate remover? Remove your phosphate to zero... before algae bloom in your aquarium..

Clean your sand/live rock from uneaten food/waste.

Your light is normal.

What is your phosphate reading? If you list all the parameter is better..

Make sure there is no sand/debris on your live rock (if any) and clean your sand from uneaten/fish waste.

If algae is very critical, you need to overhaul your entire tank.
