about the crab depends la, ur nemo so big dun tell me can lose to a small crab lol.

anybody knows wat do hermit crabs eat exactly? i have one very small one in my tank, i duno wats it eating, maybe the algae.

wanna go seaside n collect more.

I scared after the crab grow big d my fish cannot fight him, summo she is carrying so much egg, later my tank full of crab!! Wow, U can a lot of $$ by collecting at d seaside, u stay in which island?

Also heard this kind of experience before but i think it's only risky if the crab as big as the one sold at wet market
i myself got at least 5 crabbies inside my live rock but they're relatively small around 0.5-1.5cm...
most of the time they hide inside the live rock and pretty impossible to catch them...
Unless u willing to soak your live rock with 100'c boiling water....

I'm planning to DIY housing for 2 feet T5HO however it's difficult to find the parts...
most LFS only sell aftermarket T5HO housing such as aquazonic which cost at least RM1++...
Ace Hardware outlets and some 'lowya' LFS did sell normal T5 with housing/holder around RM20 but it's for normal home application of energy saving light.
The wattage rating is less than 20watt and i dont think suitable for High Output T5 tube....
Did anybody had experience DIY T5HO housing and share where to get the parts i.e. ballast, pin sockets etc around klang valley....

is it land hermit or sea hermit??? IINM, the one roaming along the beach is land hermit and not suitable to be kept in saltwater 24/7....
Land hermit require 50/50 dry/wet condition and freshwater for them to drink..Perhaps can check Hermit thread for details....
Me also looking for sea hermit (red legged cleaner hermit) but couldnt found at any LFS...Ikano one is land hermit...

mine is sea hermit. its been in my tank for a few weeks now, it came with my live rock.

about your lights, my lfs did DIY his T5HO, ill ask him when i visit him.

get the crab out else next time u keep any bottom dwellers like goby, dart, jaw fish will end up become it's supper.

Yup, I took out alredy. Lucky when I take out the stone it didn't run in to the hole! The crab is just plain black colour, I dun mind keeping if she was colourful. I just got my self a firefish, he have been hiding for 2days now. Hope he won't starve to death!! Very pretty little fish! Purple line on top of d head, pink colour eye and yellow colour face. Just luv it!!!

On the other points, why is the price for SERA test kit is generally double compared to API brands??
Does different brand have difference level of reliability and accuracy???
I found SERA nitrite test kit was priced @ RM41 with only 75 tests while API with 180 test was price RM27....

if 4 feet high i think shoud b hard to do da maintenance!

I bought my fire fish for 15 at pasar Pudu, it only have 2 and I took 1. Not sure whether the other 1 have sold. And I think he got Chakii Clown as well cause I saw the colour very similiar. U can go have a look...

whats the price range for a 3ft T5HO lighting set ? the ones with 2 bulbs.. should be enough for a standard 3 ft with 1.5 height rite? mostly just normal soft coral(Hammers, frogspawn,button)

I read some marine fresh such foxface feed on algae and also fresh veggies as an option....
What does it means by fresh veggie??...does it same like the one we can fed to a turtle ...
i mean veggie such as spinach, pak choy, cabbage etc

i saw my lfs fed angels n foxfish some cabbage. he tie it to a stone n drop the leaf into the tank.
