diatom mostly refer to brown algae. usually when your tank finish cycle, there will be brown patches on your glass.

i got no chiller, my water mostly stay on 28 Celsius on hot days, if cooler days or at night then 27, lowest 26.

anyways i take back my statement about shrimp being sensitive to water conditions, my lfs guy told me the skunk shrimp is pretty hardy, not sure bout others though.

definately T5HO better. i using it but thinking to add a supplyment LED light later time. to get more ripple effect

ur t5ho DIY or u bought with the reflector as well?

Just got my self some maroon clown ( sorry la, pic very blur ) But there are always swimming at that same spot, kjavascript:emoticon(':sweat:') don't know when they will start to swim around Do I need to turn on the light the whole day then only they come out? cause my Blue Tang does that. if I turn off the light, he will swim back to the rock and hide untill i turn on the light. But I don want algae problem
