Only good gloomis rods are the IMX, GLX and NRX series, which cost over 1k. there goes my gloomis dream. JDM made in china majorcraft regardless basspara / solpara / whatever lower range rods. they are still nicely built with quality parts. some items that you buy from daiso also. quality items yet made in china simply cuz it's meant for jdm... my 2 cents... of course cannot beat those manufactured by the artisans themselves in japan... daiwa also make reels in thailand, and i find no difference when i spin a freams kix compared to a certate - faults and unbalancing feel i meant. maybe the only thing people will grunt about is that they don't do maintenence or wash their reels properly imho freams will break faster than a certate. (or the other way round?) hahaha... on another note... anyone tried the powerpro super slick 8 in blue color and experienced easy fraying and line breakage easily? |

QUOTE(trowachin @ Sep 19 2012, 09:30 AM) my personal experience with made in china stuffs... those that i buy locally "made in china" that's meant for our country / market memang not the tip top of quality. that applies to a lot of stuffs, regardless fishing gear or electronics. price is cheap though... This I have to agree. the build quality is different. Rapala snow is no where near the quality of mc go.emotion although its priced almost the same.however those that i bought from japan market that's made in china, that's a whole lot of difference. (or the other way round?) hahaha... on another note... anyone tried the powerpro super slick 8 in blue color and experienced easy fraying and line breakage easily? |

or another comparison of price ranges... try pitting hornet stinger vs verdict. totally different feel... wait till you're impressed with the fantasista family and also the fleuret models of Abu JDM...
don't even mention the revo sx / s / premier / ib that we get and revo akatsuki / aurora. the latter's smoother than the ones that we get meant for our market. |

jdm = precise, detailed and often work wonders but not very durable.
usdm = rough on the edges but are very durable. *this is just a general summary of mine and there are always exceptions. TCE Sports very selective with what they bring in. UL anglers are small and demand are less, only Daiwa L rod would be the crossbeat. Another reason why Major craft sales is picking up. aikks...
What gears do you need? I have passed Bro Chun a few things 1. Rod and reel for you to perform light jig 2. a whole bagful of 40~120grams jig (easily close to hundred there, i believe) 3. jigging terminal tackles (consist of hooks, kevlar, solid ring, split rings, swivels, jigging spoons...etc) |

ahhh good enough,.. will collect from Chun.
its the rod and reel that is more important hehehe thanks. Date: Sept 23rd 2012 Water depth: 40ft ~60ft (shallow) Jig weight: 40~60gram Action: Popping, casting and jigging Cost: RM115 per pax. Max out at 7pax. This is what i propose. Since it's only shallow water, thus need not extreme size reel or extreme rods. It would not be tiring too, cos casting with jigs or lure, it's just light weight. Perhaps i should call this Feather Jigging.. LOL Rod: 8~17lb Reel: Any size reel that can contain 100m of 30lb Line: 25~30lb braid As for jig, swivel, split rings, solid rings, 7lam of leader per rod will be all kawtim by me. No need to big any jig or terminal tackle, just use mine. If lost, so be it At least i could minimise costing for you guys In this case, anglers just need to bring rod, reel and line only OFBN Feather Jig Date: TBA - Tentatively Sept Venue: OFBN Boat: 50+ feet (it's not a fast boat, will take 3 hours to OFBN, however it's damn spacious) 1. 1Dollar 2. Chun 3. QiW 4. Kumanosuke 5. PK 6. Faujc99 7. Faujc99 Price revised. Trip confirm, see you all Sunday morning in Subang SS17 Esso petrol kiosk at 6am. Added on September 20, 2012, 12:17 pmWow.. back in 2007 this 2 anglers landed 138 PBs over 8 hours of fishing at CWS. http://longkanggang.blogspot.com/2007/09/c...r-santuary.html This post has been edited by 1dollar: Sep 20 2012, 12:17 PM |

Just wanna share some info bout Puchong Prima, after speaking to some kaki recently and they were fishing on the wrong side of the lake.
There used to be a lot of fishing spots around the lake but with all the recent land reclaiming and constructions, we are left with just one spot to fish now. North east of the lake is another hot spot but a lot of rubbish coming from the town drainage system. See attached pic below. The yellow box area were hot spots last time but its now all yellow mud soil with active land reclaiming. If you intend to go fish there, head down south east (red Circle) of the lake where the Asia Water sport pick up point is. Look around for the TNB power station as your landmark. Fishing boat rental is also at that same spot. Do go early, splashes activities starts as early as 630am. This post has been edited by 1dollar: Sep 20 2012, 07:12 PM Attached thumbnail(s) |

Will go check it out next weekend. Again,.. can anyone in living in that area confirm this?? No path to the lake, and the jungle terrain looks wild, time to sharpen your parangs and bring some food & drinks to explore. Attached thumbnail(s) |

Why not pay a visit to redhot ask sam to take a look for you?Which is the best Abu sifu? If got box and manuals schematics i don't think it's hard to strip the reel down and do some maintenence. Overheads are far easier to service than spinning imho... |

will definitely go again, perhaps ask the boat man to suggest another location with more fishes.
Apollo was really fun for first time like me, but after a while i got lazy and tired of unhooking unwanted small fishes. Good to know we had more than enough food and drinks. roughly know how to gauge the amount for the next trip. |

QUOTE(rorytate @ Sep 24 2012, 03:34 PM) Errmm,.... i dont cook with recipe. I dont measure ingredients, all using feeling and agak agak measurements. Hahaha 1kg Potatoes - Local better, cubed Local fresh parsley finely chopped 1 whole Sweet white or yellow onion 1-2 cloves Garlic (pounded or chopped finely) Mayonnaise - 2-3 spoons full Salt and pepper to taste A splash of Malt or Sherry Vinegar (local cheap brands taste very chemically or artificial) boil or steam those potatoes in cubes. Observe the cooking time of your potato cubes, over cook it and it will become mash. depending on the volume of water when boiling (add salt into the water) may take up to 15-20 mins or so. Chop all other stuffs (onion and parsley and garlic) mix it all and serve. Goes very well if you mix in some roasted unsalted walnuts may it be chopped or crushed. Smoked chicken sausages also goes well , just chop some and add in with the mix. another recipe you wanna try would be buttered potato wedges with parsley and dill (like kenny rogers) This post has been edited by 1dollar: Sep 24 2012, 05:26 PM |

QUOTE(rain_skywalker @ Sep 26 2012, 01:00 AM) hello, some of guy that i know planning to get temensis bass and release in malaysia.. Wah like that Toman and native species is gonna be even rarer or on the verge of extinction. and anyone here been fishing for patin sungai in dengkil? The temensis will just screw up Malaysia's ecosystem unless you release it into a pay pond or something with no connection to rivers or public waterways. That is still a big gamble because occasional floods we faced during monsoon season would unintentionally release them into public water system. my advice is don't do that This post has been edited by kumanosuke: Sep 26 2012, 01:39 AM |

Yea guys..
In the name of sports fishing it may sound good. Unfortunately in the name of our beautiful eco system, i rather have snakeheads to play with. At least they are native to us and we should be proud of that. |

tested the black swan 86 yesterday. very impressed with the swim action. i own the osp bent minnow as well and I can say that the black swan is the better buy... sure, you'll lose some details as compared to the osp, but i don't think the fish minds...

QUOTE(trowachin @ Sep 27 2012, 02:03 PM) https://www.facebook.com/SgBuayaMonstersSo here you have it, set amongst the lush foothills of Kampung Sungai Buaya, I have started this small enterprise. We have recently stocked up the pond with ROHU, PATIN, TONGSAN and PACU. There is already a local population of Haruan, Ketutu and Sebarau. Sizes should range from 800g onwards for most of the fishes. Opening Hours are 9am - 9pm Closed on Wednesdays for maintenance BUT we are open every other day, inclusive of public holidays. The normal house rules apply, e.g ( No innards of animals of any kind, no 3 point hooks etc...) Charges start from RM10.00 per hour. Apparently there are Soon hock, haruan and sebarau also. Dunno how many only. |

You need lure like spoon and flutterstick as pacu mostly bite on the free falling motion. Very seldom pacu chase swim or jerk bait unless big ones lik 2kg and above specimens. Though there are always exception but I think you would have more dun testing against predatory fishes.
Considering its 10bucks per hr I figure its not really a good place to test lure. |

Welcome Ginger ninja,
short rods leverage, power control, accuracy, casting tight area's,skipping lures Long rods line pick up,lure control at long distance, more length for pitching or flipping baits, very long casting, ability to work certain baits better Mind to tell us your doing fresh or saltwater? |

QUOTE(vioxmonsta @ Sep 28 2012, 09:44 AM) Yamashitas pretty much the best money can buy, and that alone comes in a dizzying collation of range, sizes and colour. but if you are adamant about diversifying Yozuri Duel is recommended, and they're everywhere in malaysia tackle stores. Jigging master also if you can find them in tackle stores. I don't think is illegal fishing at that area,as far as I know beside pb there's soon hock, patin, eel.. If u have the time, sit there for awhile u might able to see big splashes. This post has been edited by vioxmonsta: Oct 2 2012, 10:57 AM |

QUOTE(vioxmonsta @ Oct 4 2012, 09:31 AM) I'm not saying is expensive or not bro. Why would you classify it as a RM2 tooth pick leh? I think the supreme n patriarch series from pflueger are quite worthy to be used by anyone. It's like I'm asking you to buy a toothpick for rm 2.00?expensive?nop,it just doesnt worth. Magnesium bodied reels with that cost almost 50% less when compared to the leading brand-name in Malaysia. What else can you ask for? |

IMHO... fused further on the baitcaster.
furthest use 2lbs braid on spinning. else on a baitcaster your lure flight is slower than spool spinning speed and on heavy line resistance more. |

Seems to be the most active "fishing forum" in Malaysia so I thought I'd drop by and have a chat with some like minded people.
Normally fish at Tow Foo, Jurassic and Exotic as I live in Menjalara so it's not a bad drive. However catching something in the "wild" rather then stocked is so much more satisfying. Had a trip to Air Kuning last week for Peacock Bass and that was fun. 45cm biggest for the day....and it was a HOT day.....heat wise Anyways, just saying Hi and hopefully if there's a fishing gathering I would like to join. Malaysia abit hard to find kaki so to speak. |

There's definitely fish however it was slow the day we went as there was an influx of fresh water coming in (let in or natural) I'm not sure as my chinese is very basic. Other two guys on another boat nabbed 14. I got 6. One of it a baby toman. Slow day as they said but there was still fish. Maybe a different lake would've produced more. |

bro 1dollar, u shopping for jigging trip?
went port klang last weekend instead of the planned OFB cuz got some frens aeroplane, so have to go with smaller boat.. managed some good size "sa chui" as bait, then while going to boatman's "secret lubok", suddenly we hit something and the engine cover flew off... boatman say we cant go fast and far, scared enjin kena air, so have to patah balik but we learned a lot from the boatman, and his secret places all didnt disappoint, just we didnt managed to get to the final big fishes place, he said snapper there min 7kg, not sure how true but from how he tell of stories, he;s very experienced, and a lot ghost stories from deep sea fishing trip lol.. 30-60lb rod (if not mistaken), bent like hell during a deep sea trip, and when they pulled it up after close to an hour, found a ring in the hook, and ntg else, threw it back, again kena, 3 times lol.. saw this battleship on our way http://thestar.com.my/news/story.asp?file=...8637&sec=nation This post has been edited by faujc99: Oct 8 2012, 07:46 PM |

btw planning another sea fishing trip next weekend, as the water will start to turn GOOD, anyone wanna join? early morning till 5-6pm, Saturday, if cant book Saturday then Sunday. i need to know how many ppl going, then decide how big the boat, the bigger means the further we can go, and more comfortable, and hope i can get this uncle to bring us to all the secret places he mentioned. its a fibre speed boat most probably, not the wooden fisherman's boat, and life prawn as bait is included. anyone interested pls add ur name down here, ntg is confirmed yet cuz i cant confirm the budget as of now, but wont exceed RM150.

QUOTE(faujc99 @ Oct 8 2012, 07:04 PM) bro 1dollar, u shopping for jigging trip? Trying to find cheap and good rod got jigging and bottom lor. went port klang last weekend instead of the planned OFB cuz got some frens aeroplane, so have to go with smaller boat.. managed some good size "sa chui" as bait, then while going to boatman's "secret lubok", suddenly we hit something and the engine cover flew off... boatman say we cant go fast and far, scared enjin kena air, so have to patah balik but we learned a lot from the boatman, and his secret places all didnt disappoint, just we didnt managed to get to the final big fishes place, he said snapper there min 7kg, not sure how true but from how he tell of stories, he;s very experienced, and a lot ghost stories from deep sea fishing trip lol.. 30-60lb rod (if not mistaken), bent like hell during a deep sea trip, and when they pulled it up after close to an hour, found a ring in the hook, and ntg else, threw it back, again kena, 3 times lol.. And another cheap and good rod for apollo action. I already got a 4000 size for jigging and a size 30 reel for apollo. Problem is,.. i really dunno what rod to buy, light jigging like the new storm Erito so expensive. The Storm micro jigger also not bad within budget but dunno can pair or not. Ah boy into me the Daiwa med jigging rod, RM408,.. nearly pengsan hahaha. Else i saw the Abu conolon also not bad at RM2xx. Kepala pusing pusing la,.. dunno which rod good and which one not. No trip la,.. just wanna stand by. Might wanna go Pulau Angsa. Cheap cheap 1 day trip. Morning All,
Been outstation for 3 days and hundred over post unread... Bro Kayent, Happy Bday bro... have a great one too! Added on October 9, 2012, 8:51 am QUOTE(fishon @ Oct 5 2012, 06:47 PM) Seems to be the most active "fishing forum" in Malaysia so I thought I'd drop by and have a chat with some like minded people. Welcome in Bro Fishon,Normally fish at Tow Foo, Jurassic and Exotic as I live in Menjalara so it's not a bad drive. Do stay there's plenty of activities here... including but not limited to just fishing... Added on October 9, 2012, 8:52 am QUOTE(inv @ Oct 5 2012, 08:41 PM) Bro Inv,You referring to the bearings? Which one dont have? Added on October 9, 2012, 8:52 am QUOTE(katsumoto2011 @ Oct 5 2012, 09:45 PM) 1 more thing after work i drop by at hasra fishing , the owner restock many lure include gary yamamoto lures Bro, Katsumoto,he say in 2 more weeks time more shipment gonna arrive since the store already expanded to 2 stories you bc guys might wanna go check that out Where's this Hasra Fishing? Added on October 9, 2012, 8:53 am QUOTE(trowachin @ Oct 6 2012, 04:16 PM) Lovin your idea of carpooling with a proper 4wd. Can bring some porta stove to cook lunch there also. Bro 1$,Last i know benny's car still rosak. He always ask me to drive in myself. Handed me keys to the gate and thruster. Helped myself with the boat. Bro 1$ let's see u there around tht time. Sea tackle's fireline is the classical black colored one. Poundage left 10 14 30 and up. The ones i used are pink or fluoro green 2lbs 4lbs. Those not so sticky and the coating not so obvious la. This one selling there... No guarantee. Long long time ago i bought a 30lbs i cannot get used to the coating. Once kena bnest very hard to sort the stuff. Since Bro Trowachin have good contact with Benny, perhaps we do at Benny's private spot? Bro Trowachin, How many boat does Benny have? Added on October 9, 2012, 8:54 am QUOTE(DavalPrestor @ Oct 8 2012, 03:07 PM) Hi all, Bro Daval,Will be going out with a friend to fishing near Seremban\lukut this weekend. Is there any specific pond that we should check out for? Appreciate if anybody here can provide some assistance. Check out Admiral Marina Just next to it, with long extension to the sea.... approximate 900m if i'm not mistaken.. This post has been edited by rorytate: Oct 9 2012, 08:54 AM |

QUOTE(kumanosuke @ Oct 9 2012, 12:56 PM) i think max 30ft only, definitely not deep, but boatman say dont look down on shallow water, over the years and most recently 2 months back he pulled up 50kg stingray from less than 10ft water, had to pull it back with the boat |
