for wat sort of fishing?
Must be light weight like stradic ci4?
Rarenium, biomaster, daiwa fuego, sustain, ultegra.
All the above are good fresh water spinning reels.
Cheap bang for buck would be pflueger supreme xt
*
general purpose - casting, bottom fishing. Both saltwater and freshwater, but more on saltwater. Im more keen on a smaller sized reel like the 1000 or 2500.

Anybody knows whats the price for stradic ci4? last i checked around is 680 for 2500 size if not mistaken.

How much roughly is a pflueger supreme xt? Havent seen one around.

ohh saltwater then supreme xt & patriach not ngam due to the Mg body. Although it says salty approved but i wouldnt wanna risk it.

Based on your requirement, i assume you setting up a light jiging, bottom, casting setup. Do you intend to go beyond 10lb line?? Cos 1000 & 2500 spool is small and limitted line for sea fishing  unless its just shore or shallow waters.
Stradic ci4 is bout 650 more or less, if you can afford a lil more, get the sustain, impressive drag for bottom and sea bashing. Sustain 1000 has 7kg drag, whack in a spool of 10lbs sufix 832 and let the fun begin!
*
hmm magnesium body easy to corrode? pflueger does look promising.

Mostly shore/shallow, deep sea i got no kaki here in selangor blush.gif Trying to see if i can get stradic ci4 below 600 hmm.gif

i've seen good reviews about stradic ci4 drag! Havent read about sustain one though. Will take a look at it.

QUOTE(katsumoto2011 @ Oct 8 2012, 10:58 PM)
confirm less then rm400 , because i was quote pflueger patriarch the most expansive 1 on pflueger model only rm456

Added on October 8, 2012, 11:05 pm
if not mistaken

sustain around 600-700

biomaster sw around 900

ultrega around 500
*
yup, should cost less than 400 http://stores.ebay.com.my/MINSTOR-TACKLE/P...d=p4634.c0.m322

biomaster any good? hmm.gif

any local store to recommend for pflueger or shimano?

Stradic FJ got Full metal body and CI4.
Rarenium CI4+ comes with spare spool (damn smooth)
Biomaster can go salty
Sustain strong drag.

Price
Stradic Ci4 cheapest among all
Then Rarenium
Sustain
Biomaster
Rarenium gets my attention more cause of the spare spool hmm.gif

If i get stradic ci4 with extra spool also gonna cost almost the same as rarenium right? How much is one spool such as the stradic one?

Wah so many plans for fishing trip, makes me itchy to tag along biggrin.gif

Bro,
Your target/budget to get those SHimanos ady tells me you can afford the good stuffs.
So I would really advice you to get the Rarenium Ci4+
You still need to find a matching rod, Rarenium 2500 is a UL/L reel.
Get a rod with max 12lbs and you will have more fun fighting fishes.
6'6" or a 7' rod will allow you to cast far far with lures below 5g. But if you more keen with bottom fishing then 8-20lbs rod would suit better.
My honest 1dollar opinion
*
Haha, its not that i can afford expensive stuff. Its just that i appreciate good stuff tongue.gif

Yeah a matching rod would be a headache rclxub.gif Maybe just planning to get a cheap rod below 200.

Stradic seems to have a higher gear ratio than rarenium. hmm.gif Real life usage got much difference? 6:1 to 5:1

QUOTE(inv @ Oct 9 2012, 10:35 PM)
it depends on whether u are casting or bottoming.

if casting, i would prefer the higher ratio.

imho, a rod with rating of 3-7lbs line, paired with a 1000/2000 reel seems to be the most versatile setup for fishing around the klang valley. no fish is too big and none is too small for the setup. you can throw lures up to 7g-10g easily.
*
yeah, slightly higher ratio would be better i think. My penn international ratio damn slow, casting makes my arm goes flex.gif

thats the initial thought, rod with 6-12lb or so. Need a light to medium gear for normal use, unless my sights turn to fishing plabuk. laugh.gif

And another one, where are the recoomended Shimano stores other than Kepong Tackle in KL/Selangor area?
thanks
*
QUOTE(vioxmonsta @ Nov 2 2012, 12:10 PM)
Maybe can Try oceansea tackle.thier price are quite competitive also.
*
Shimano stuff in ocean sea is expensive, avoid at all cost. A shimano stradic ci4 2500 is going at only 550 at digital aquarium compared to 680 at ocean sea doh.gif 4000 im not sure but couldnt be too far off smile.gif

I suggest you head to digital aquarium biggrin.gif Almost bought but change of plans, sticking to my penn for now laugh.gif

Listed price most maybe not yet discount le.
*
Thats already after discount dude. Even with the ocean sea member card. laugh.gif

QUOTE(max_cjs0101 @ Nov 2 2012, 03:30 PM)
Thanks for the suggestions..Will go and see if free.
How are prices there compared to Kepong Tackle? Kepong Tackle cannot discount 1.
*
Kepong tackle last week i went there were no stradic ci4. Not sure if they restock already.

Price wise slightly higher than digital aquarium. For example a nasci 2500 in digital aquarium is 270 but kepong tackle is 285. But then again it depends on where are you located. If kepong tackle is nearer to you then it make sense to buy from there. smile.gif

I think i'll go there to see. Are the other stuff there reasonable? Lots of selection?
*
Yeah they have quite alot of stuff. Not as big as kepong tackle but well equip i would say. Price are reasonable, as most shop are, some stuffs are cheap some stuffs are expensive. laugh.gif

It used to be half pet/aquarium/bait and half fishing shop, but now they have renovated to be fully fishing stuff.
