Not really.
Managers also depends on the company and team.
My ex is also a manager for one of the big 4 and she works crazy hours too.
She believes in leading by example, something I don't believe in.

To work long hours or not is a choice once you become manager. That's what i hv learned. I jist delegate to subordinates so i can go home earlier.
once u go home earlier your boss will add additional jobs to u. U hv choice to reject the additional jobs too.

If you are young and love to go travel then choose big 4

Hi, I am currently debating between looking for Senior designer / junior art director jobs in Singapore's advertising or digital agency or staying back in Malaysia.

Wondering if there's anyone currently working as a designer at Singapore? What is the minimum to maximum salary on the specified positions currently? How is the job culture there as compared to malaysia's agencies?

Are they still open to hiring Malaysians (cause last I heard, they are trying to limit the amount of Malaysians working there as Singaporeans are loosing jobs)?

Would really appreciate anyone sharing their experiences, advise or opinions on this. smile.gif

Hi guys I've got a question about "connections" in the Auditing industry.

How exactly does "connections" help you in gaining entry into the company? I mean, unless your connection works in HR dept the influence should be limited no? I know existing employees can give a recommendation or referral to HR but i'm just curious on how it works. If you are recommended does it mean they bypass stages in the interview process or just generally more inclined to hiring you?

Its difficult getting into a good company in Singapore without a referral unless you're the creme of the crop in Malaysia hmm.gif

HR doesn't make the decision on who to hire. The hiring manager does.

Dear all,

Would like to seek opinion. I'm thinking of moving back to JB (Gelang Patah / Bukit Indah) to save more $$. Would like to know on the daily travelling experience thru 2nd link (eg:- what time should I wake up, what time will arrive Bukit Indah after work etc.) My working place is at Redhill, from 830 to 1800.

It's going to be exhausting..

I stay around redhill, takes me almost 2 hr just to reach city square. Not sure if it will be faster before and after work but chances are not. I think will be better if u have scooter

I stay in Johor Jaya, Work place is in Tampines. Travel time is around 1 1/2 hours per day (peak hour). so leave home 2 hours before work if your company is very particular about attendance time.
I leave home 1 hour 15 mins before work, sometimes can reach on time. Sometimes late 15-20 mins. Not that bad. If work night shift. I leave home 50 mins before work. Go tapao rice and normally reach office on time.
