Nice review! Damn, after seeing what you said, I kind of regret of buying the M50W, should had go for 2.0 speakers, the M200MKII is just RM20 more.

I'll just imagine that M200 never exists so my M50W is so badass. Still haven't receive my M50W, bad pos laju service in Miri, they didn't even bother coming upstairs to my house, asked me to self-collect with a sticker on the wall downstairs. Went to pos laju for a few times hours after hours, they keep saying the car not yet come back. Finally gave up and have to wait tomorrow.

QUOTE(CyntrixTech @ Dec 28 2012, 09:00 PM) The A532 is actually the upgraded model of the M10. But it's not exactly better but different. The A532 has a more mellow sounding satellites, they don't sound as bright. The A532's bass does hit a wee bit lower but loses on SPL that the M10 delivers. So in some way, the M10 is still more engaging but at the same time more fatiguing. Yup, it will blow any typical L/E/A speakers away. Oh I see, that makes a lot of sense too, with regards to the " fatiguing " part of the speakers. I auditioned the m10 first hence I found it more engaging but as I hit the hour mark the " engaging " speakers were too " demanding " on my ears. Too much brightness lol and details to listen to Did you listen to the M200mk2 or mk3? They look almost identical. On desktop, mk2 will be suffice, saves you RM500 also. M200 is what made Swan famous. You will be BLOWN AWAY when you listen to the M200mk2/mk3 at home in a quiet and relax environment, nearfield, on the desktop. Congratulations to you, you just experienced something that even millions of citizens of the USA would find it very difficult to come by. Yup, many wants to audition them but very hard to find in the states. I'll probably head over the Heavy Arm tomorrow to help out with any inquiries people may have with the speakers and brand. Don't forget that you can get RM 20 OFF all HiVi speaker purchase this weekend from all our dealers - Heavy Arm, Alex Audio Visual, Rix Trading (EM), and Wellcom PC I listened to the mk2 as I saw your previous review comparing both speakers nearfield and you couldn't really tell the difference. For now I'll only be using it in a small room so mk3 will be an overkill for me lol. (no need to fork out the extra RM 500 too This is all thanks to you bro Btw, would appreciate it if you could enlighten me on the DS1010 vs M20w part... For a more wholesome experience, m20w will win hands down ? I game, listen to music + watch a bit of movies on my PC. Thank you for your kind comment hehe, although it's more like a description of my visit than a review I don't think that's necessarily the case haha, as Cyntrix mentioned before there's something for everyone. M200 might be the one for me but it could be different for anyone else hehe. For me I just prefer the brighter tone of the m200 rather than the warm sound of the m50w. Sub to line out. Speaker amp must be maxed out. Volume controlled from subwoofer. However, a customer who came to my house to test the T200B and eventually bought one, found out that connecting non H series speakers to the H series sub in the method killed the imaging of the speaker. After some testing I did find that it's true. So if you intend to add a sub, I'd recommend getting a splitter and split the line out from your source. Do you really want to add a sub to the D1080-IV? Sorry, I don't really know how to write a review, lack of the knowledge of an audiophile
Finally done setting up the speaker at my home. I took my M50W to my friend's house so we can compare our speakers. M50W was compared with Z623 and Z906. From some of the reviews by m50w owners, they complaint about the controller had a scratch on it. I checked on mine and also found some tiny scratches there, but that doesn't matter since I only cared for the sound quality. The controller is actually one of the reason I bought this speaker, it looks really boss, controlling the volume by just turning around with one finger, it has this blue(ON) and red(OFF) light that made it looks even better. I think its very well built with good quality materials, quite heavy when you hold it in your hand. So we started opening a lossless music file, turning up the volume slowly. Then I turn up the bass up to half, and I was like "where's the bass?". I turned the bass up to the max, all I hear was soft bass. Then we switched to Z906. The difference of the bass is very clear, Z906's bass level at 1/4 equals to maxed bass level of m50w. Other than bass, I think there's nothing else the logitech speakers is better than the m50w. At the moment we switched to Z906, there is also a clear difference of the clarity and details of the sound. The sound from m50w is very clear, warm, and you can hear every details/effects very clearly. Unlike Z906, the sound is very sharp, I don't know how to explain it, but its just a sound that people will dislike after they compared these 2 speakers. I am actually quite disappointed of the bass from m50w, was expecting a little bit more. Maybe I'm not an audiophile like you guys, but IMO, in movies and gaming, you really need that extra bass for the sound effects to make it feels more realistic. As for music, I think the bass is just right, perfectly suits an audiophile, along with the clear and warm sound, perfect... Just perfect! As for the comparison with Z623, Z623 should just step aside. Except louder and heavier bass like Z906, I think nothing else is better than the m50w. One more thing that I dislike about the m50w, is the sub. The sub volume controller is at the back of the sub. It is very troublesome to set the sub volume since it is put under my table. That is pretty much what I wanted to say. I am satisfied to have this set of speakers. Sorry for the poor english. We took a lot of photos during the comparison of the speakers, but for now I only got this photo since the others is in my friend's Ipad. And sorry for the bad quality photo, I have a bad phone. http://puu.sh/1GS2m |
