I tried to search online and it seems like both are from Miri. Maybe I should had waited for them instead of paying Rm145 for the postage fee, but my ears really beh tahan already hahaha.

Yeah, I'm also from miri. Didn't actually expect both dealers are from Miri, thought they would be from some more populated place like KK. I ordered the M50W from Cyntrix, but now I felt like getting the D1080 lol. But from the tracking number Cyntrix gave me, there's still no record of anything yet.

QUOTE(Dimiberbs @ Dec 28 2012, 07:44 PM)
Went and auditioned nearly all of the HiVi Speakers today in Heavy-Arm. It was truly an eye opener. Would like to share my experience with you guys smile.gif.

Do note that I'm a noob when it comes to speakers. However, I do share the same appreciation of good music as most of u here. Hence the absence of proper terms used in describing the sound quality will be obvious.

First up was the M10. Well what can I say ? The moment the first song started playing, it blew my current speaker - the altec lansing vs4121 away. Immediately I got anxious, thinking HOLY SHIT ! this is the entry model ?? As mentioned before by Cyntrix, don't be deceived by its size, it packs a lot of punch ! At that moment I seriously couldn't wait to go higher to see what the rest are capable of.

Next up was the A532, the notable difference between these 2 similar priced speakers is the bass. A532 bass is a lot more thicker and the overall sound is " lower ". Personally prefer the m10 because of its all rounder feature smile.gif.

Then it was time to jump to the next bracket, roll in the DS1010 and DS1080. I went with the DS1010 first and God it was beautiful, I honestly, had goosebumps when the music started playing, once you experienced the D-series, it's likely that you'll never look at the lower ranges again. The clarity you get from this speaker is amazing and for a price of RM 399 ? U can't ask for more.

Next up was the elder brother as the staff called it tongue.gif. DS1080 ! From my experience and base on what was said by the staff, the DS1080 packs a lot more bass than the DS1010, however the clarity of the vocals are lacking. For me, I preferred the DS1010 over the DS1080 smile.gif.

Honestly at that time I wanted to just settle for the DS1010 and walk out of the shop but the greedy side of me said otherwise. Hence I decided to try the M20w and M50w as well. It's strange because after listening to both, I actually preferred the D series. Steve pointed out that the M20w and M50w speakers are not as bright as the D-series, but their bass are a lot better, giving listeners the ohmp due to the existence of the sub. The M50w in particular is a lot warmer. True enough you do get a more wholesome experience when listening to the M series. He also added that listening to such bright speakers like the D series might be tiring to some people's ears. Whereas the M series are more suited for long usages.

Finally it was time to take the final step, the gorgeous mkm200ii ! If money isn't an issue I would have bought it on the spot. Out of of all the speakers I've tested. This one was just perfect. The clarity was right there. Bass was just nice, complementing the music. Personally, that was the one for me. Without a doubt.

So yeah here I am in a big dilemma, whether to go for the DS1010 or the M20w. Or should I just take the plunge and settle for the mk200mii.

Sorry for the long post. Would like to give a shoutout to Steve and the staff of Heavy Arm store. They were really helpful and friendly, always ready to assist and explain. smile.gif

Nice review! Damn, after seeing what you said, I kind of regret of buying the M50W, should had go for 2.0 speakers, the M200MKII is just RM20 more.

I'll just imagine that M200 never exists so my M50W is so badass. Still haven't receive my M50W, bad pos laju service in Miri, they didn't even bother coming upstairs to my house, asked me to self-collect with a sticker on the wall downstairs. Went to pos laju for a few times hours after hours, they keep saying the car not yet come back. Finally gave up and have to wait tomorrow.

Sorry, I don't really know how to write a review, lack of the knowledge of an audiophile tongue.gif

Finally done setting up the speaker at my home. I took my M50W to my friend's house so we can compare our speakers. M50W was compared with Z623 and Z906.

From some of the reviews by m50w owners, they complaint about the controller had a scratch on it. I checked on mine and also found some tiny scratches there, but that doesn't matter since I only cared for the sound quality. The controller is actually one of the reason I bought this speaker, it looks really boss, controlling the volume by just turning around with one finger, it has this blue(ON) and red(OFF) light that made it looks even better. I think its very well built with good quality materials, quite heavy when you hold it in your hand.

So we started opening a lossless music file, turning up the volume slowly. Then I turn up the bass up to half, and I was like "where's the bass?". I turned the bass up to the max, all I hear was soft bass. Then we switched to Z906. The difference of the bass is very clear, Z906's bass level at 1/4 equals to maxed bass level of m50w. Other than bass, I think there's nothing else the logitech speakers is better than the m50w. At the moment we switched to Z906, there is also a clear difference of the clarity and details of the sound. The sound from m50w is very clear, warm, and you can hear every details/effects very clearly. Unlike Z906, the sound is very sharp, I don't know how to explain it, but its just a sound that people will dislike after they compared these 2 speakers.

I am actually quite disappointed of the bass from m50w, was expecting a little bit more. Maybe I'm not an audiophile like you guys, but IMO, in movies and gaming, you really need that extra bass for the sound effects to make it feels more realistic. As for music, I think the bass is just right, perfectly suits an audiophile, along with the clear and warm sound, perfect... Just perfect!

As for the comparison with Z623, Z623 should just step aside. Except louder and heavier bass like Z906, I think nothing else is better than the m50w.

One more thing that I dislike about the m50w, is the sub. The sub volume controller is at the back of the sub. It is very troublesome to set the sub volume since it is put under my table.

That is pretty much what I wanted to say. I am satisfied to have this set of speakers. Sorry for the poor english.

We took a lot of photos during the comparison of the speakers, but for now I only got this photo since the others is in my friend's Ipad. And sorry for the bad quality photo, I have a bad phone.

Bro, not sure if the PM didn't send over to you or you didn't read my PM. You said my RMA will be done and ship over back to me 2 weeks ago, and up until now still no update on it. I've only able to use the speaker for less than one week and it has been more than 2 months since I've sent over the speaker back to you for RMA.

I don't want to go on rage here. I think I am patient enough of a customer that only able to use the product for less than one week and unable to use it for more than 3 months now. Sent over a few PMs but never got replied.

Just want to know how is my speaker now... Thank you very much.

Thought someone was taking care of your case. We swapped the amp the same week we said we will be fixing it but we found out it was the transformer that died. We are moving and everything has been transferred to the new stockroom so we can only replace it once we settled. We will extend the warranty for the amount of time you did not have the speaker.
*
Alright, thank you. Please update me again after you guys have done moving. I'm getting more and more impatient, because I only bought a new Rm40 headset just for replacement since I sold my previous headphone, the sound is just not very acceptable lol.

Hope I won't see smoke coming out from my sub when I receive it. Almost one month, don't know where Pos Malaysia bring my speaker to.
