Like i said..you wont see the difference under naked eyes between pentile and non-pentile. It's all hoohahh only.
No need to be too exited or less excited about GNote2 screen. Btw..from the official picture the notification light should br available. |

See if your phone screen got black bar when you watch video full screen. If got then the ratio is not 16:9. For 16:9 ratio the pictures will be full and ngam2 just nice without need to go into expand or strech mode.

In my opinion, if the SGN2 battery performance is as good as S3, then consider good alrdy.... cause bigger screen eat much battery juice... correct me if im wrong...

I'm planning to get this but waiting for the reviews first and price to drop a bit since my mum has a S3 so I rather get this instead.

Hey guys, please keep this thread clean. No flaming, no arguing.
I'm absolutely impressed with this phone. Gonna get one for myself, and it's going to be my first Android device. I'm currently a BlackBerry user and can't bear the pain anymore seeing my friends happily flipping through apps on their iPhone and S2/S3 while I can't do that on my BB. I have the iPad 1 for more than 2 years now and still serves me well for my daily magazines reading, light gaming and videos watching. Plan to make it retired and let GNote2 take over the role. My mum will be the owner of my iPad then. I was about to buy the GNote this month but luckily GNote2 was announced just in time. Now, I'm curious on the pricing. I'll wait for a while till the pricing is around 2k-2.1k. I guess when it is out, it is going to be 2.5k eh? |

the decision to buy this is killing me, on one hand im a person that just looove to make a to-do list, the s-pen really wow drolling...on the other hand i also love to texting, i try with note1 texting isnt too comfortable in a long run for me. even with the one hand feature

As you can see, the Galaxy Note II screen lights up individual pixels to display the 1px-wide lines. The old Galaxy Note, however, can't use a single pixel as each individual pixels can't make white, as it only has two of the three needed colors. To fix that, the screen uses sub-pixel rendering, which "borrows" a subpixel from a neighboring pixel to make white. But now the line has become 1 2/3px wide. This new arrangement seems to result in some very slight color aberrations around sharp edges, but it takes a great deal of eye-strain to try and see it. hey guys, since i am a little bit free so allow me to take some time explain about the super amoled screen which is a hot topic on note 2 thread i believe..here we go..
the first samsung super amoled = super amoled using by s1 which is pentile arrangement  2nd gen super amoled = super amoled plus s2 (RGB)  3rd gen super amoled = HD super amoled note, s3, nexus (pentile) compare with 1st and 2nd gen super amoled under same dimension it allow more subpixel put into screen due to resolution upgrade to HD (720p). theoretically the screen should be more fine with more subpixel..  4th gen super amoled = HD super amoled (plus???) note 2  HD resolution so more "complete" pixel can put inside a screen..and look properly the arrangement is totally different with 3rd gen which is using pentile..  here is another pic.. 
what we can see is the blue color is actually ONE only..so basically it almost same with the 2nd gen super amoled which 3 color (red, blue, green) combine together to form a complete pixel..i would say this is special form of RGB invented by samsung..they double up the blue color to overcome the low light performance on blue color itself.. correct me if i am wrong..thx and have a nice day!! The red, green, and blue sub-pixels exist as vertical bars, each one measuring a third of the width of the full pixel. In contrast, the PenTile matrix uses five sub-pixels in a different formation. PenTile displays are perceived as brighter than RGB screens, but many display purists consider them fuzzier and overall inferior to the classic RGB. iPhone user here. Looking at all the good features I have decided to join the driod band wagon. New ip5 is not appealing. I hate the new connector design which makes alot of 3rd party devices incompatible.

thanks, I'll be bloody honest. 3gs has been solid for the past 3 years. Everything just works. I think the joy came when there's cut and paste feature introduced and this incorporates both text and image capturing with no substitute. After that, it has been a rat race on hardwares. ip4? faster, better screen and better camera. 4s? same all story. There has been no significant feature which apple has out done others. I think the folks in cydia has implemented better gesture short cuts that what IOS 5 has to offer. Its just plain copy of other OS without innovation. Nevertheless, my old phone has never down even when you need it most. That I believe the jew is the bulletproof OS.
However, as the years go by, I beginning to see strains. Websites is getting more complex, and with all the addition of features bogging the phone down, its a bit funny to hear people talking in ghz and cores, while I'm still stuck in the age of mhz with a single processor. Personally, i think samsung has outdone apple. Its no surprise to see the giant is trying to stop them getting the biggest pie. with so many new innovations like rotate screen in accordance to eye position, cut crop image on the fly, internal S-voice, big screens, and many more, I believe this note will certainly lure most users to buy in. I'm not a fan on hardware specs. It's just a difference on waiting but it still can get the job done. But having a nifty and practical feature means you're special and you can do things more effectively. Thats why I'm giving uncle sammy a chance once they roll out note 2. Probably my biggest gripe on note 2 is on the lack of internal storage? existing 32 gig is still insufficient to squeeze in all my favourite songs. Don't talk about videos. Another major concern is on upgrades. Samsung is never concern on porting new OS on older phones. I can't blame them as their bread and butter is always on selling hardware. Nevertheless, there are still generous open source developers to rely to. |

Personally I favour 1280x720 than 1280x800 because nowadays most of the HD movies we download and youtube videos are shot in 16:9 aspect ratio.

when i had iphone4, i cut my sim to micro. now sim card is damaged when i used gnote...so change to a new sim..eyeing for note2...but it use micro sim rite? need to change again...

G Note buyers are in different category . G note does not compete with other smaller phones with size 4 inch n below
Main selling point of note is its bigger display n s pen functions. You don't need either one there are more other choices available - other androids, windows n iPhone Until HTC releases its upcoming 5 inch model there is no close competitor. The 5 inch dell streak compared with it is not even worth comparing |

It's said to have LTE feature but operators in Malaysia is not quite near to implementing it yet. Does it mean the phone will be compatible when Malaysian operators implementing it ?

One thing I like about the 2 features are
1) If you plug in your ear phone, the home screen will jump into a Media home screen with music widget and video widget 2) If you remove the S Pen from its holder, the home screen will then jump to a Pen centric page with S Pen specific widget / app Hopefully all the features will be ported into Note 10.1 in its JB update |

Well this is for those who are obsessed with display . Based on this report it would seems the Note 2 display is better than Note. Anyway if it is so, good. I am very happy with my current Note display and I'd still say it doesn't loses out much to the HOX, SGS2 and SGS3. I still maintain you'd need microscopic eyes to really view the differences though Ku Li did said I need my eyes check. So far of all the gadgets i have used , the worst is the Nexus 7 and its differences is obvious vs say the Tab 7.7

Samsung already hit the limitation and unable to even place RGB in a straight line and have to resort to using alternative placement for blue subpixel. How do you think they would manage to pack even more pixels to increase the resolution in the first place. Still, improvement is needed. Most of the time, you wouldnt be affected with the limitation of pentile. However there are some apps with lots of gradient which would make the problem apparent in darker room as shown with the Iron Man video. Even different batches of screen exhibit different level of problem. My Note original screen banding was so bad, but after getting it replaced, I would say not so apparent even in darker room. Still, it is what I would call least ideal but aint a deal breaker. You can goto Samsung center and get your screen changed till you satisfied. Anyway, there is no point repeating your concern so many times. If you cant live with it, you always have OneX with full subpixels to satisfy your need to pixel peep. |

Yes i do agree all new phones should start using microsim, no need to change back to normal sim when you having note 1 & iphone 4s. Anyone knows when note 2 is arriving malaysia? Tak boleh tahan already...sure get!!!

I really don see the difference using cut sim. The signal of it is pretty stable. Or any other people experienced like xeactorz did? Need more cases to substance a claim.

my digi sim card replaced to new one. last one was when i use ip4...the seller cut my sim card. last month only happend when my sim card is faulty...the effect of the cut sim...
