Information gathered from SCB Customer Service :-
• You need to walk into any SCB branches (except Saadiq branches)
• You don't need to maintain RM1,500 every month in the account. You ONLY NEED to deposit fresh funds of RM1,500 and above, in single deposit, before the end of each month, to get FREE MEPS/HOUSe withdrawals and FREE Interbank Giro
• Normal transaction fees will be charged at the time of the transaction and will be reimbursed to your account the following month sad.gif
• FREE Standing Instruction to transfer FIXED amount each month from other bank accounts (i.e. salary account). Takes up to 3 weeks activate. Can be change with visit to any branches.
• No withdrawal via ATM Card for JustOne Savings Account.

JustOne CASA Terms & Conditions

My Analysis
• JustOne Current Account is great if your salary goes into SCB every month - fulfils the monthly requirement
• You can withdraw Cash from any ATMs in Malaysia (local banks via MEPS or foreign banks via HOUSe)
• You can do UNLIMITED InterBank GIRO to pay Credit Card bills, Hire Purchase (selected banks), ...
• The Half yearly service fee of RM10 is waived, effective 19 September 2012
• Standing Instruction (SI) is FREE and can be updated when necessary

Great share, btw, there is a half yearly service Fee of RM10 levied on EACH account if the minimum monthly average balance falls below RM1,000 from 1 Jan to 30 Jun and 1 Jul to 31 Dec.

for personal savings & if salary credited to SCB, then it would be very good.

but for business transactions, to use SCB as my a/c for my customers to TT money would be troublesome. due to lack of branches, IBG charges from other banks to SCB etc.

most customers still prefer maybank/cimb/rhb/pbb.

Do note that the half yearly service fee only applies to the JustOne Current Account. So, in order not to be hit by the RM10 half-yearly service fee, one needs to maintain an average balance of RM1,000 only in the JustOne Current Account every month. But... JustOne Current Account is a non-interest bearing account... well. I guess one can't have it all sweat.gif

Which type of account are you talking about ? If it really is not stated in the fees and charges PDF File, then you should lodge a complaint.

I had open a supersalary ac when working for my previous employer but now resigned.
In their pdf and t&c online no mention about the rm100 charges for islamic fee.
Had complaint at customer service but they mention it is coz of my balance below rm1k.
What type of ca that need at least rm1k balance, somemore ca do not have interest for balance rite?
Shitty bank!!!

Well, there are plenty of non-interest bearing current accounts in the market that come with a minimum balance fee. However, this SuperSalary account is a current account that actually pays interest. SCB was quite aggressive in promoting this account a while back.

Anyway, in their fees and charges table, it is stated that they generally will waive the RM100 admin fee for Islamic Account and the charge will only be applicable if a customer's account is in access or has exceeded their limit within the month. Not sure what the italic part means. Perhaps if you have time you can pay them a visit ?

By the way guys, it seems that Standard Chartered has revised the fees and charges for this recently launched JustOne Account. There is NO MORE below balance fee, account service fee etc.

I opened this account yesterday and as usual with the two British banks, there was no form to fill thumbup.gif I closed my e$aver account more than 3 years ago but they still have all my particulars in their system. So they didn't ask me anything biggrin.gif

It seems that this JustOne CASA has always been intended as an absolutely fee-free account. Anyway, i can tell you that it is really fee-free and if you open the account now, they can help you to arrange to have your salary transferred from another bank to this JustOne Current Account free of charge.

By the way, you need to deposit at least RM1,500 in a single transaction into your JustOne Current Account to entitle for all the freebies and additional 1% interest for your JustOne Savings Account (to be credited at the following month's end). The good news is that you can deposit the RM1,500 and withdraw it right away and you'll still entitle for all the perks that come with this account rclxms.gif

I was informed that I have to pay all the fees first and if I fulfill the RM1,500 deposit requirement for that particular month, all the fees charged earlier will be reimbursed the following month.

Yes. And RM4 for every successful withdrawal at local MEPS ATM, and RM1 for HOUSE ATM.

I was told it must be fixed and it will be like a SI. Currently this is provided free to everyone who opens this JustOne account during this promotion period.

I didn't ask that. I don't know when the promotion will be over either.

By the way, I just made 2 IBG transfers to another bank but I wasn't charge the RM0.50 IBG fee... Will check again later today.

Not necessary need to enter the fresh fund on the 1st of each month right? It can be entered at the end of each month right? As our salary only enters at the end of every month.

Yes. But if any reason your company only deposits your salary on the 1st the following month, and you have never deposited at least RM1,500 in a single transaction into your JustOne Current Account for the current month, then you won't be eligible for the free IBG and MEPS/HOUSE ATM cash withdrawals for the current month.

As long there is a fresh fund of RM1500 deposited into my account for the current month, then I'll be eligible for all the free stuffs regardless of when I deposit the money in this month right? For an example: My company will only deposit my salary on the 23rd of October, would I be charged if I make a IBG transaction on the 2nd of October the same month? I think most companies only deposit the salary at the end of each month right?

I just checked again and they still have not deducted the IBG fee from my account. And the money has already been credited to the bank accounts I transferred to yesterday evening.

So yes. Your IBG done on 2nd Oct is free because you did fulfill the RM1,500 deposit requirement by making a deposit of at least RM1,500 into your JustOne Current Account in a single transaction on 23rd Oct.

Well, they don't provide any of these to their Priority Banking customers. If anyone should get these, it'd be the Priority Banking customers. So I am very happy that this account gives me all these despite having to deposit at least RM1,500 in a single transaction into the JustOne Current Account in order to qualify for all the free stuff it promised for that particular month.

I was told that the RM1,500 must be deposited into the JustOne Current Account and NOT the JustOne Savings Account.

By the way, you can't withdraw money through the ATM from your JustOne Savings Account using the debit MasterCard. Your JustOne Savings Account can only be accessed OTC and online banking.

If you want Liverpool-designed Debit MasterCard, go apply at PJ oldtown branch. Btw, once you have deposit Rm1500 to your JustOne CA, you can deposit others fund to your JustOne SA to enjoy the additional 1% within the month, no need go through JustOne CA again.

Ya...the same problem happened last month as well when I was about to get the card, so waited for 1 extra day. Btw, they wanted to issue me the Liverpool debit card but I rejected due to personal reason, so they gave me the classic debit card which they claimed to be the last one available in their branch, hahaha.

Ok...you caught me...it might be a bit naive but I do not want my card to be printed with Liverpool logo/players...
I've lot of friends who support Liverpool, and I know they will definitely laugh and tease me when they found out...hahaha...
Anyway, this is a good offer by SCB, it would be regrettable to turn down this offer just because of the card...luckily I still managed to get the classic card...hahaha...

Anyway, this is a good offer by SCB, it would be regrettable to turn down this offer just because of the card...luckily I still managed to get the classic card...hahaha...
Mind to share a picture of your classic debit card ? Just want to know how it looks like biggrin.gif

Same as below but the Standard Chartered wording is bigger and longer, straight in a row instead of 2 rows. The bank officer said they no longer issue this classic debit card as they have been replaced with new Liverpool card.

This is not really a classic debit card. This design has been around during the e$aver days but not really a classic one. The classic one is a bit different. The design and colors resemble the Standard Chartered savings passbook smile.gif

Oh by the way, I was issued this card too. Same as yours biggrin.gif And as you said, the Standard Chartered wording is bigger. My e$aver account which I already closed about 3 years ago came with the exact same card posted by you smile.gif

The bank officer told me that it is a "classic" debit card, may be "classic" to his definition means normal plain printed card without the fancy Liverpool logo and players, hahaha tongue.gif

Anyway, I am happy to get this card and offer... thumbup.gif

Ya...actually it is better to have your name printed. Since the bank officer didn't do for me, I didn't bother to ask as I've already waited for 1 day due to the system error.

I think what the CS meant is that you can go to any branch to open the new acc except for islamic branch.
Erm, so how you open your acc? online (is this an option)? I mean definitely you are going to get the card from the branch that you open your acc unless you apply through online right? Do I have the option to open my acc at branch A and collect my debit card at branch B? Correct me if I am wrong or I did not catch your question.
Normally I go to the nearby branch and get everything settle that day.

I've already opened my JustOne account on Monday... that day SCB had issue to provide the Debit Card to me.
Thus, I called up SCB to confirm if I can get my Debit Card from other SCB branches (i.e. close to office). They said YES.

I'm not clear about one thing.

QUOTE
Fulfill the monthly requirement of depositing RM1,500 into the JustOne Current Account to get additional bonus interest of 1% p.a. on any balance amount in this savings account, on top of the base interest

If I deposit RM1,500 on the 25th, do I get the EXTRA 1% for the remaining days of the month or will it include the days before?

The 1% base + 1% bonus is for amount in JustOne Savings (not JustOne Current)... it's calculated on average daily balance for the JustOne Savings account

Yup, I know it's based on the SA. But let's say I maintain a fixed amount of RM5000 for each of the days in October (SA). I deposit RM1500 on 25th (CA).

Will I get:

1st to 24th (1% p.a.)
25th to 31st (2% p.a.)

(5000 x (1% / 12) * (24 / 31)) + (5000 x (2% / 12) * (7 / 31)) = 5.10

or will it be for the whole month as such:

5000 x 2% / 12 = 8.33

The moment RM1500 hits your JustOne Current Account, you will get 2% on the JustOne Savings.
You can withdraw the RM1500 on the next day....

Highlighted should be correct. 2% only starts to count the moment you enter the fresh fund of RM1500.

I don't think so. As long as you fulfil the requirement of depositing at least RM1.5K into your JustOne Current Account in that particular month (let say on the 25th), all your balances in the JustOne Savings Account before you deposited the RM1.5K on the 25th will be eligible for the 1% bonus too, not only on the balances starting from 25th. At least this was what i understand according to what the girl that told me this. Besides, there is also no mention in their website that the additional 1% interest is applicable only from the day you make the RM1.5K deposit into your JustOne Savings Account.

Yesterday, after 12pm. Today consider 1 working day already.

In addition, SCB deducted the IBG fee, just not stated in the transaction list. I know because the amount was not tally with amount in my phone app.

In addition, SCB deducted the IBG fee, just not stated in the transaction list. I know because the amount was not tally with amount in my phone app.

Please check your Citibank online statement on 3 Nov 2012 for payment made on 2 November.
Which SCB account do you have ? Why deduct the 50 sen ?

Hi guys, I just opened this account but under Saadiq.
The funny thing is I received the Temporary id for online banking from a normal handphone number, so I dare not use it. So I called the SC and they confirmed that this doesn't happen. So I'm just going to activate through the ATM tomorrow and do an Instant Registration online.

I have one question though, because I was in a hurry, I did not ask the girl properly when opening this account. Will my salary be credited in to the current or the savings? Or do I need to transfer it from current into savings myself? Abit confused here.

TQ

I guess I know why the IBG Fees are not charged and reimburse later (as per JustOne CASA T&C).... because of the Free Transaction Fees & Debit Card Cash Rebate on Debit Card Transactions Promotion
(which runs until 31 Dec 2012)

http://www.standardchartered.com.my/person...mpaign/tnc.html
*
Must be due to this promotion. Made another 5 credit card and loan payments to other banks last month and none was charge any IBG fee.

The unlimited free IBG and unlimited MEPS ATM cash withdrawals should be made a permanent feature if SCB Priority Banking VISA debit card.

After 12pm on a banking day, money will be deposited into the transferred to bank account by 6pm the next banking day. So it means you should have received the money yesterday evening (2 Nov).

By the way guys, surprising I received a bank statement from SCB yesterday because I understand that they do not mail out paper bank statement for this account type. And instead of JustOne Savings Account, the savings account of this account is stated as Privilege Savings Account 2 hmm.gif

(i) Anyone experience the same as mine?
(ii) Old question again, should I deposit 1.5k on every 1st of month in order to avoid any charges on the aforesaid month?
(iii) Failed to apply SI after complaint made and re-apply at SCB. Anyone experince the same?

Thank you.

If you deposit RM1500 into JustOne Current anytime in the same month of your IBG/MEPS withdrawal, the fees will be "refunded" in the next month.

The original T&C states : charge first, refund the next month.
Reason : Give you up to end of the current month to deposit minimum RM1500 in order to be refunded in the next month.

It's JustOne Priority Account. Join Priority Banking and you can have it. RM250k to join and maintain.

But seriously, one catch is to deposit RM10k/month to enjoy all the benefits that come with this JustOne Priority Account. I don't think it is worth it. There are other savings accounts from other banks that give 1.50% - 2.30% in interest.

Just noticed that I was charged Admin Fee - Islamic of RM10 on 1st Jan 2013 sad.gif . Probably is the half yearly service charge for not maintaining an average balance of RM1,000. Checked with customer service but still haven't gotten reply yet...

Could it be due to you opened the account before the revise the T&C in September ? The non-Islamic JustOne account had this half yearly service fee too but they changed the T&C and there is no more yearly service fee.

According to the Fees & Charges, there should be NONE.
You better call SCB to confirm

I saw an option to apply online. I plan to apply this for the free IBG transfer with 1.5k transfer. I assume this is not a limited time promo rite?

Is there any more condition i should know off? Or something else I should be aware of?

Thanks

Edit:

After further reading, so the 1.5k should be bank into the Current Account and maintain as such for at least 1 day right? Then I can transfer it back out anyway i want?

Do i also need to maintain a minimum amount to avoid be charge a fee? (From the T&C it seems i have to maintain an average of at least RM1,000 in my Current Account per half yearly else i kena RM10 service fee) - The current account only earn 0.25% cry.gif

Also is there any diff the normal Justone vs the Sadiq one?

No need to maintain for a day or longer. You can withdraw it right away or transfer to your other Standard Chartered account or even bank account at other banks.

There is no minimum balance to keep in either account. Please refer to their fees and charges table. However, you have to keep at least RM1 in the SA for interest to be credited.

My experience opening SCB JustOne Account via online registration.

- Registered online. 29th Jan. One email sent to me say revert in 3 business day.
- 4th Feb (4 business day later) sent another email back to them asking the status. No reply.
- 5th Feb (5 business day later) sent another email reminder + cc to another CS email.
- 5th Feb, later received one email regarding eStatement and another email say I need to visit one of their branch to finalize the opening of account. (Replied to ask for further detail and expressing my opinion on why bother with online application if i still end up need to visit bank anyway.)
- 6th Feb, SC call me say and say I need to go to the branch still. Double confirmed again on what I need to bring. Weirdly another SC called me later in the day telling me the same thing. (Internal communication problem??)
- 7th Feb, go to branch. Was inform at counter I need to RM1,500 to open account. doh.gif I told her no such thing. She went back talk to don't know who and came back say I need to bank in within a month. I say that is fine. She told me I cannot get the debit card yet. Need 1 day for system to process. doh.gif Ok fine. I don't need it anyway. Asked what I needed to do for online banking. Had to fill in another form and she provide me with a temp ID. (If i nvr ask the last part she oso wont do it for me. Haihz)

Lesson learnt:

- Don't apply online. Its not what you think. U still have to go to the branch anyway in the end. So walk straight to branch when you wish to open an account to avoid wasted time.
- ATM/Debit card requires another visit to SCB on another day.
- If you wish to access your online banking immediately, request online banking registration immediately. That is if you don't wish to come back anytime soon to do your ATM card. The SCB ppl assume you will come back another day to do your atm card. This card is the other way you can register the online banking on your own.

I've not been receiving Interest on my SCB JustOne Savings since Jan 2013 onwards. Last received on Dec 2012.

Is there a minimum balance to earn interest from SCB JustOne Savings ?

New notice up in SCB website :
*
MEPS already announce RM10k per day for Interbank Transfer a few months back.
M2U already can update the Interbank Transfer limit upwards to RM10,000

I've not been receiving Interest on my SCB JustOne Savings since Jan 2013 onwards. Last received on Dec 2012.

Is there a minimum balance to earn interest from SCB JustOne Savings ?
*
I think min should be rm1... I keep my balance rm30 only and still receiving the interest every month. Actually no point keep the money here (0.25% + 1%) since M2U savers offering 2.1%. Soon I'll close this account together with all SCB credit cards

Be patient.... We should expect the "refund" to be transacted before 30 April 2013.
Starting 2 May, we don't need to worry has IBG is RM0.00 from SCB Online Banking for all current/savings account.

My experience,
SCB staff NO TEAM WORK AT ALL. If u r lucky to have a good and responsible staff to handle your account, just like Ronnie, less mistake happen. That's y some pple seems so unlucky to have so many problems. This isn't UNLUCKY, that's the staff who shall be blamed, THEY'VE LOT OF COMPLAINT FORMS, JUST WRITE YOUR COMPLAINT & PUT IN LETTER BOX at the receptionist or teller.
I've using SCB Kajang since 2006, they change CS staffs and customer relationship manager very frequently. First few years better, duno what happen to these few years, their CS and CR manager getting younger & younger, lot of mistake happen in this branch. Through these yrs, I've seen pple yelled at staffs. And believe or not, not only once I saw, many times. They are not ordinary uncle aunty, they are educated professional. I only use the basic current account and esaver(now closed already-also, I wonder why the customer service staff told me they have basic saving account, but customer relationship manager said only choice was ESAVER). Last year when first lauching JustOne Promo, keep sending leaflet to me, I never bothered to read, and never bothered to switch. Until now only I c the problem you all facing. I learned lessons from your experience, am I right that they always change their terms & conditions? For those who want to open this account, rajin rajin, READ YOUR STATEMENT CAREFULLY!! Lazy fellow, slowly they'll eat your money out. If you cincai cincai, in long run, you'll rugi. Luckily I insist to retain my basic current account. Let's wait till next week, or after election, see any changes to T&C lor hmm.gif brows.gif
I definitely won't go for JustOne at the moment. I'm a simple person, it is tiring to check these $$ flow every month. I'll always support the BASIC ACCOUNT.
BANKER HATE BASIC ACCOUNT COS IT'S A BURDEN, NO MONEY EARN, BANK NEGARA GOT RULLING. WHO WANT TO DO RUGI BUSINESS? SO THEY CREATE ALL THESE FANCY ACCOUNT, A GREY AREA, NO RULLING TO GUIDE. THEY KNOW THERE ARE LOT OF CARELESS, SHY TO ASK, NEVER BOTHER or TOO BUSY TO SPEND TIME DO RECTIFICATION. CHANGE T&C WITHOUT YOUR KNOWLEDGE, KENA CHARGED. OPEN ACCOUNT TIME, SIMPLY DISCLOSE THE BENEFITS AND HIDING THE VERY IMPORTANT THING, OR ELSE USING ITALIC TERMS. YES, THEY THINK WE ARE ALL STUPID.
THAT'S VERY GOOD, ALL BANK LOWER THEIR IBG RATE, I'D RATHER PAY THE RM0.10 TO LOCAL BANK THEN TO FOREIGN BANK(WHO SHOWS NO MERCY TO US)
Now, dear all, I think you know your decision now, rite? Be a wiseman! GOOD LUCK! whistling.gif thumbup.gif

I opened just one account last year, i applied "standing instruction" (SI) at the same time in order to credit 1.5k every month. Please note what SI means here is i appointed SCB as "credit bank" and Maybank as "debit bank".

Unfortunately, it took about 6 months for approval and just realized MBB credit 1.5k last 2 days and bad thing that SCB still not receive this fund after 48 hours.

During that 6 months, i make complaint to SCB branch & call centre and received confirmation from SCB KL that "SI should be done at BUYER/Debit bank" so not possible to apply through SCB. But, it was true i filled up the application form at SCB branch and received few SMS (from SCB) that state "your MEP-DDA has been set up successfully and your agreed fund will be debited from buyer bank".

With these inconsistent communication between them, make me confuse and lost.

Today, with above incident happened, i plan to stop "SI" and went back to SCB branch to fill up cancellation form. This time, CS who served last time has left and others SCB CS don't know about this SI service and claimed NOT possible to apply cancellation here instead of from my buyer bank.

Anyone can help/advise on "standing instruction" (SI) which you experienced or applied before under this just one account?

Thanks in advance.

Regards
Sam

Me and my friend have been struggling with this SCB JustOne DDA more than half year (walked to the PJ branch few times) and eventually we fed up and close all the SCB account including credit card. Guess what, simple as closing the JustOne account also cannot done in more than 1 months my account still active even though I walked in to the branch 2 times. Even complaint to Bank Negara this PJ branch they also no response. This is the worse services and experience that I had never met before. If you ask me to rate this SCB branch, I'll give 0 to them.

Those who signup earlier for JustOne CASA (before categorisation : Personal/Preferred/Priority), can opt to change the account type by filling up a form. No account number changes and takes approx 1 week to complete.

Changing JustOne type will also means more deposit per month into JustOne Current Account and earning for interest for JustOne Saviongs Account.

Then recently u have successfully convert the same account numbers to JustOne Preferred Current/Savings account.

I just call them and request that their manager call me back on Monday to clarify and convert my nice Normal JustOne account to PREFERRED. since my last Digits of the account number is 66688.

Ipoh Branch wo.... I guess the ONLY Preferred CS Girl don't know anything. I already call the HotLine and complain and they will revert to me on Tuesday. I want my nice account numbers converted..

Then i found out the 3% p.a on savings is also a SCAM. Since the max one can get the 3% interest is up to rm100k only. After that they go down to normal 1.5% only!! Might as well put in MBSB (Malaysian Buiulding Society Bank) which gives FD rate of 4.x% even for 6 months.

Instead of converting my existing JustOne Personal Account to JustOne Preferred Account, i chose to open a new one. This is because there are certain months that i may not be able to fulfill the minimum deposit to enjoy all the perks that come with the JustOne account. So basically i now have two JustOne accounts with four account numbers and the JustOne Preferred Account which i just opened recently comes with a very nice number thumbup.gif

And for the JustOne Preferred Account, it comes with a Preferred Banking JustOne Preferred Account ATM/debit MasterCard and the card is in matte finish, just like Citibank Platinum Cash Back VISA/MasterCard credit card. I am not a Preferred Banking customer though.

Looking at those terms... might as well put in FD for 6 mths for 3.5%PA straight in StdChart or 3.65 for 13 mths at UOB...

When did I say my account status = CASA ??
CASA is acronym lah doh.gif doh.gif for Current Account Savings Account.

My account type is JustOne Preferred Current Account after I request for change.... and I did get more Bonus Interest as JustOne Preferred
I'm also one of the first few to open such a great CASA in October 2012.

Hi there, I am told by customer service JustOne Preferred account will incur charges after 6 months. (details of charges I have to dig out later). Is your JustOne Preferred has any additional fees charges compared to JustOne Personal?

Folks, just to warn the rest

I made a withdrawal several days ago from the new "MEPS ATM Machine" that seems to be popping up everywhere nowadays.

I got charged an ATM Fee of MYR 12.72, as "TRANSACTION FEES - CIRRUS". I emailed SCB for clarification and was informed

"Kindly be informed that if you perform a withdrawal transaction at 'MEPS ATM Machine' RM 12 + 6% will be charged and will not refund.

Please do not use the 'MEPS ATM Machine' to avoid the charges."

Thanks, MilesAndMore, for showing this thread. It is refreshing to know the evolution of JustOne Personal Account, as I read through every post in this thread. smile.gif It is good to know that JustOne Personal Account is fee-free.

1) As mentioned in the first post, Monthly eStatements are given separately for JustOne Personal Savings Account and JustOne Personal Current Account. So, there is no passbook for these 2 accounts, right?

2) Do the bank still emboss our name on the debit card? Nice feature. I thought that this feature is only for credit cards.

I definitely trust you all that no annual fee will be imposed for the debit card, for JustOne Personal Account.

So, I just assume that the brochure for JustOne Personal Account is assumed to be wrong. The brochure states that:" there will be a RM8 fee upon issuance of debit card and a RM8 annual fee upon anniversary date of the card thereafter for JustOne Personal Current Account".

It is stated at the bottom right of the brochure that the printing of the brochure is August 2016. Yet another misleading information from SCB? confused.gif

Alright, I shall follow what shuangping did, and just cancel the debit card.

I recently opened the JustOne Personal Account. So, closing the account is out of question for me, as the fee for the closure for account opened less than 3 months will be incurred.

1) Is it possible to cancel the debit card by calling SCB Customer Service? Or, do I have to go to SCB branch to do it?

2) After cancelling the debit card, my access to SCB online website, free online IBG and free online IBFT are still maintained as usual, right?

Thanks for the advice.

The announcement is SC Malaysia main web page (https://www.sc.com/global/av/my-just-one-pe...otification.pdf).

I firmly believe the officer who told you this is wrong as basic savings account is a BNM regulated account and every banks in Malaysia must offer this type of savings account with a free ATM/debit card.

Anyway, I'm glad to learn that it is possible to cancel the debit card without closing the account.

By the way, the debit card for JustOne Preffered and JustOne Priority account will remain annual fee free. I have a written confirmation about this from their HQ.

It makes me wondering whether I should open a Basic Saving Account in SCB, instead of JustOne Personal Account. After all, free IBFT is also available for Basic Saving Account.

As MilesAndMore mentioned, Basic Saving Account is regulated by Bank Negara Malaysia, and it must have a ATM / debit card, with no annual fee. So, SCB cannot simply impose ridiculous rules and fees on Basic Saving Account.

But, JustOne Personal Account is a SCB product. So, SCB has the right to impose ridiculous rules and expensive fees, and we customers have to accept it, against our will. mad.gif bangwall.gif

You can try to open a Basic Savings Account so that you'll still have ATM access in case you need it in the future. And at the same time to cancel your JustOne debit card so you won't be charged any annual fee. Do let us know if you manage to open a Basic Savings Account with them.

As mentioned earlier by other lyn member, all SCB savings account have free IBG and IBFT. I am looking for a saving account for free IBG & IBFT, online banking and only e statement only without the need for cash withdrawal or debit card etc. I am also not interested if there is annual fee or debit card fee for the account.

Looking at the types of savings account, looks like the following would meet my needs, but i have questions on the following:

1) e$aver
a) No minimum deposit to open
b) No service fee
c) interest rate of 0.25% p.a. on all balances
*No other info on what is the required deposit monthly to be maintained in order not to get charged

2) JustOne Savings Account
*Thanks to the recent update, there is debit card annual fee of RM8, guess this account is out.
*According to the fee & charges (https://www.sc.com/my/cb/fees_and_charges.pdf) pg17, section k) Fees & Minimum Number of Transactions - JustOne Savings Account
No Debit / ATM Card. If no debit/ATM card, why would there be charges? Unless SC is talking about people who hold this account and apply for debit card.

3) Young Savers Account
a) RM1 of minimum deposit to open
b) Free eStatement subscription
c) Free Online Banking
d) No ATM/ Debit Card. Only one cash / transfer withdrawal is allowed at
least one month from the last withdrawal - presume not subject to "fees & minimum number of transactions"?
e) interest rate of 2.7% p.a. up till RM50,000
*No other info on what is the required deposit monthly to be maintained in order not to get charged.
*Why not getting this account since the interest is high? Could not find what is the eligibility to open this account on the website

Appreciate members' feedback on the suitable account for me to open with SC to enjoy free IBG/IBFT. Thanks in advance

e$aver account is no longer on sale as far as I know. Those still have this account can continue to use it. The original interest rate for this account back in year 2007 was 2.50% with 8% cash back on petrol purchases with the e$aver debit MasterCard. Now I really regret closing this account a few years back.

Standard Chartered Bank has this habit of coming with a really good product to lure people into applying it and then slowly taking away almost everything from you. This can be clearly seen with the e$aver account, then the JustOne Titanium Credit Card and now this JustOne Personal/Preferred/Priority account.

May be you can first complain to SCB. If they insist there is debit card annual fee for this type of account, you can escalate this case to BNM.

I've still been using my Justone account, the free meps withdrawal is very useful to me. Today i noticed 3 transactions - "Reversal of Bonus Interest". I called CS and apparently SC has overpaid interest by 1% to all customers and is executing a clawback. Please check your accounts folks.

I've still been using my Justone account, the free meps withdrawal is very useful to me. Today i noticed 3 transactions - "Reversal of Bonus Interest". I called CS and apparently SC has overpaid interest by 1% to all customers and is executing a clawback. Please check your accounts folks.

Standard Chartered Bank is now focused on selling Privilege Account. It comes with unlimited free MEPS withdrawals too but the minimum deposit is higher at RM3,000.

But there is one particular thing that I really hate Standard Chartered which is SCB has the tendency of changing the account features after a while. In the past 10 years, they had come up with a few high yielding savings account. In 2007 there was the much talked about e$aver account. But they later changed the interest rate to the point there is nothing special about hat account anymore. Instead of making improvements to existing banking products, Standard Chartered always comes up with new type of savings account. And they always revise the interest rate downward after a certain period before they comes up with yet a new savings account with new name again.

As I know, the privilege saving acc also is promotional rate only.. not a long term feature of the acc

Yet, every bank is also reducing their benefits, n we should just enjoy while it last, it is free to open the acc.. I’m also PSA acc holder and enjoying 4% p.a. for saving acc with flexibility of cash flow, which bank is giving such good deal? So far only SCB..

My privilege ac is opened with ac number on internet banking, I opened through card agent.
My Q is, will they send debit card to me via mail? The agent didn’t explain well
