Thanks, MilesAndMore, for showing this thread. It is refreshing to know the evolution of JustOne Personal Account, as I read through every post in this thread. smile.gif It is good to know that JustOne Personal Account is fee-free.

1) As mentioned in the first post, Monthly eStatements are given separately for JustOne Personal Savings Account and JustOne Personal Current Account. So, there is no passbook for these 2 accounts, right?

2) Do the bank still emboss our name on the debit card? Nice feature. I thought that this feature is only for credit cards.

I definitely trust you all that no annual fee will be imposed for the debit card, for JustOne Personal Account.

So, I just assume that the brochure for JustOne Personal Account is assumed to be wrong. The brochure states that:" there will be a RM8 fee upon issuance of debit card and a RM8 annual fee upon anniversary date of the card thereafter for JustOne Personal Current Account".

It is stated at the bottom right of the brochure that the printing of the brochure is August 2016. Yet another misleading information from SCB?  confused.gif

Alright, I shall follow what shuangping did, and just cancel the debit card.

I recently opened the JustOne Personal Account. So, closing the account is out of question for me, as the fee for the closure for account opened less than 3 months will be incurred.

1) Is it possible to cancel the debit card by calling SCB Customer Service? Or, do I have to go to SCB branch to do it?

2) After cancelling the debit card, my access to SCB online website, free online IBG and free online IBFT are still maintained as usual, right?

Thanks for the advice.

The announcement is SC Malaysia main web page (https://www.sc.com/global/av/my-just-one-pe...otification.pdf).

They don't have any other type of normal savings account on sale for the time being. Now I sort of regret closing my e$aver account that still comes with free debit MasterCard with unlimited ATM cash withdrawals.
I firmly believe the officer who told you this is wrong as basic savings account is a BNM regulated account and every banks in Malaysia must offer this type of savings account with a free ATM/debit card.

Anyway, I'm glad to learn that it is possible to cancel the debit card without closing the account.

By the way, the debit card for JustOne Preffered and JustOne Priority account will remain annual fee free. I have a written confirmation about this from their HQ.

Yup,I told them like all you tell me,at the end, that officer ask back me,izit I come to check all the bank savings account? mad.gif

Anyway,I was cancelled my card but remain my savings account smile.gif smile.gif

You can try to open a Basic Savings Account so that you'll still have ATM access in case you need it in the future. And at the same time to cancel your JustOne debit card so you won't be charged any annual fee. Do let us know if you manage to open a Basic Savings Account with them.

They force me to pay debit annual fees even I open for basic savings account

Really? Can complain to HQ as BSA is free as instructed by BNM. If don't want to refund, can compalin to BNM. Remember to mentioned your name, IC, and which branch. Just email them will do.

e$aver account is no longer on sale as far as I know. Those still have this account can continue to use it. The original interest rate for this account back in year 2007 was 2.50% with 8% cash back on petrol purchases with the e$aver debit MasterCard. Now I really regret closing this account a few years back.

Standard Chartered Bank has this habit of coming with a really good product to lure people into applying it and then slowly taking away almost everything from you. This can be clearly seen with the e$aver account, then the JustOne Titanium Credit Card and now this JustOne Personal/Preferred/Priority account.
May be you can first complain to SCB. If they insist there is debit card annual fee for this type of account, you can escalate this case to BNM.

Thanks i will try complain to HQ 1st notworthy.gif
