I don't have an LMST not sure what you mean my gear/screw but in older iswara, the gear and screw is together. Turn the screw (philips head, right?) and the gears turn as well...

If got bit more $$, go for Meguiars and they shine like what compared to normal brands... Meguiars is affordable during promo.

just now went to engine oil treatment, wanted to ask the foreman about my axle issue one, but what he told me is that there is no more new axle in the market, only left recond axle which comes with 1 month warranty against any defect. then now my rear is using perdana disc, if i change the whole axle, the disc still can use?

seriously, the sound really damn dulan.. front there started to have "crook crook crook" sound while moving slow.. and my foreman told me is the axle sound which caused the crook crook sound.. duno real or not also.. sweat.gif

Meguiar's is overpriced in malaysia lol. would never buy them outside of promotions (although i bought their gold class leather solution; it wasn't for my car though, it's to maintain my expensive headphone leather ear pads wink.gif )
not to mention, there are MANY other products that you've probably never heard (such as pinnacle, optimum, wolfgang, detailer's pro series, auto glym and so on lol)

that said, will be importing some meguiar's products (and other mix/match products that i find to fit my needs) around january time btw.

may need to mod the axle a bit again, not sure on the actual full process since i didn't mod mine. settled with bendix ceramic drum brake replacement and so far i am satisfied with the results smile.gif
haven't open up the drum for brake dusts, however since it IS ceramic after all which boasts higher temperature sustenance and less brake dust, it should be good

since my axle repaired (the bushing etc all replaced) by kent (LYN ID nestum), so far so good. the sounds i am facing are mostly due to my car too low and the chassis are scraping against the speed bumps doh.gif
a bit heart broken after finding out the root cause and my scraped up chassis sad.gif

i also suspect he sinkalan 1.. he just jack up my car, then used his mini flashlight check2 abit, then say is my axle caused the sound.. i asked him sure bo, not driveshaft or batang2 thingy infront? he said confirm is axle problem..

yup.. bendix really give superb braking result thumbup.gif

but nowadays my front rims r like so damn dirty, and the disc looked so "line", macam uneven surface nia.. maybe due to the friction between the semi metal compound with the rotor..

how much u replaced your entire axle bushing? workmanship all ok?

i got sound too when hard braking, however that's mainly due to my brake pads and the fact that i'm running slotted/x drilled rotors which have extra brake shaving and it gets apparent during hard brake. that said, currently facing brake vibrations during hard braking too and it's getting worse and the above link details as to why and i can even use my fingers to feel the un-evenness.

my next brake pad change is definitely EBC (hopefully they got produce for proton iswara sad.gif ) and will either get my rotors replaced to normal solid disc, or just skim my current ones.

anyways from your description, seems like your knuckle area/drive shaft etc having issues. if straight line also got the sound, temporarily can rule out drive shaft, and focus on the rotor, bushings, especially considering that you can feel the vibration with your left foot. (around middle end?)
chances are it could also be your gear box or engine/transmission mounting (low rpm, vibrating car)

you used that bendix before? thought you sold yours brand new still with wrapping etc lol

and yes, depending on what brake pads you use, it can slowly wear down the rotor, and eventually it will cause braking vibrations/noise sad.gif

the entire repair i think around/less than rm200?
most of the time was spent on the axle, however i got buy other things too so not too bad la for the "cheap" labor (refer to my previous posts detailing on what i've done during that day lol, IINM got pricing too)

PU bushing can last better than ori rubber? then i might consider taking that PU also..

forget to mentioned that when i turn around 45 degree to the left or right, it will sound higher level instead.. friend of mine asked what was that sound, i just lied to him sayin thats my hidden turbo turbine spinning tongue.gif

normal straight direction, i dont really notice it due to rapid sound and poor sound proofing from the car itself.. only noticeable during slow driving like traffic light, jam or parking that time. my braking dont produce any sound.. i tried to touch my rotor, it seems uneven surface, but when i touch it, seems to be smooth..

changed all 4 mountings about a year back, so all the 3 mountings except the front 1 is in excellent condition.

yup, that time i bought front and rear, but i only get to use it for my front using bendix ultimate.. seriously bite like mad compared with my previous shitty abc brand pad..

around 200 for changing that should be fine.. but what im afraid of is that after i fix it, then the problem still there, that time i really wtf lol..

front don't care at the moment since i'm also on PU bushings, dunno what brand though but it's still holding up well so that's that.
it's the rear axles that i'm not sure how the stock rubber (or maybe they are PU? no idea never really ask/inspect lol)

importing around january since the detailing stuff (eg: meguiar's) locally are overpriced to hell lol.
if just wash (not wash and wax, those are better once you've done a complete detailing session that includes proper claying/polishing and waxing lol) i can recommend turtlewax f21 car wash. very lubricating and does a pretty good job at washing off dirt. it doesn't cost an arm/leg too at ~rm25-30ish per large bottle

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polyurethane
yes they last longer than rubber, synthetic based after all

if your sound is more apparent during turning, then most likely it is the drive shaft/cv joint.
considering the sound is also present (since you didn't say no sound, only higher when turning) during straights, i'd recommend replacing the entire drive shaft for both sides, expensive, however less headaches that way.

well im not too keen on bendix fronts considering the materials used. my current rapid stop is headache as it is in regards to brake dust haha.

best if you can identify where the sound is actually coming from instead of troubleshooting blindly smile.gif
if you're looking for kent then you can explain to him and he can help you troubleshoot.
