QUOTE(Andrew Lim @ Sep 6 2012, 02:51 PM) Because... 1) WP8's complete features are still a mystery. 2) No release date for this phone. So for now is vapourware. 3) Motorola released some interesting Droid phones on the same day. 4) Next week is iPhone 5 announced. And everytime it's announced it's available within 2 weeks. 5) Pureview brand but still only 8MP compared to 808's 41MP. 6) Downgraded the polycarbonate chassis to glossy plastic from matte plastic. 7) Doesn't seem that much better than the Samsung ATIV. 8) They posted fake Pureview trailer to con people. sir, 8 points for you!

Yes , it's under PureView but its an entirely different approach. Not everyone wants a 41mp bulky and heavy phone in their pockets. The PureView that is used here is more to optical image stabilization , some people just want to take some self shots , simple pictures of food and other stuffs. 808 is more to people who wants lossless zoom and very detailed photos , more for the pros lol. I agree with you , not all prefer glossy surface because of the easy smudges. The PureView teaser was just very misleading and thus most people would just jump into conclusion that it suck and so on. It's a big mistake they made nevertheless. This post has been edited by freakenstein: Sep 6 2012, 03:48 PM

Nokia 808 pureview on 808 are oversampling, lossless zoom and Nokia rich recording On the Nokia lumia 920 there totally nothing to do about 808.

I am waiting for the Nokia 1020 with at least 20MP(i read somewhere due to size, this is the max it can go without looking like a brick ala 808). This phone is very un-exciting. Just another meh WP8 phone. nothing special.

QUOTE(Fazri9900 @ Sep 6 2012, 02:08 PM) for me this is the best phone i have ever seen..but i'm not so sure why the nokia shareholders doesnt think that way..nokia shares plunge to 16%?? why ar?? Considering the fact that the share price was 1.69 in July and it ended at 2.28 yesterday is actually pretty good performance. It's a correction, based on how analysts expectations were overvalued.

Nokia shares down? Perhaps due to the Lumia 920 not having price & release date.

It really puzzles me as to why all the fuss is about on megapixel. Why do you need 41MP when DSLR operates at 12MP ?
It is the image processing and optical stablization that counts. For me it is the whole pureview package that counts (good lense, apeture, image processing, optical stablization, lenses (apps) ) that gives the whole experience of capturing a photo fun.

From a average joe point of view, this phone would be great and fits on daily usage, just the right phone to get me going through my life. Doesn't care about the optics as long as it take decent photos and won't fail me, doesn't really care for the market shares either, just the right phone. Doesn't care about the specs too, everything just fits right.
So why all the fuss, people?

I'm looking forward to the larger battery which should hopefully mean longer life. My current lumia 800 does not last very long when i'm going hardcore on Wordament.

Lumia 920's ability to capture great images in low light is very attractive to me.
Taking shots in low light using flash often create very harsh pictures and cannot show the real light condition of the scene. Worse still if the subject is very close or have relective surfaces.

I will probably only get Black or Gray because they use matte plastic. Right now I'm using an iPhone 4. Unless iPhone 5 is really good I will be getting a WP8 phone. I wish Nokia would confirm an exact release date worldwide though.

Getting Started

|
i would say i'm pleased with what this 920 has to offer with its camera capabilities was thinking of having the 808 but after seeing this new 920 i would say its function would suit me better windows 8 vs symbian belle... pretty easy to choose which software to go for so far it looks good... , though that glossy finish is a fingerprint magnet seems like pretty good all rounder further comments reserved till the actual product and price is officially out haters will hate but hey, if you dont find this phone appealing to your needs then go look for something else

QUOTE(Leo the Lion @ Sep 6 2012, 01:45 PM) I mean, apps that available in marketplace. last time, nokia told me, only 60% apps from market place is available for Malaysian. Well that was probably because when Malaysia came into the picture, all developers would have to resubmit their apps and allow sale in Malaysia. New apps, and also updated apps wouldn't have problems like this.

QUOTE(WhatMan @ Sep 6 2012, 04:48 PM) Nokia shares down? Perhaps due to the Lumia 920 not having price & release date. its down because WP8 was not put on shelfs for sale yesterday. Analysts think about WP7 sales. You launch new models of WP8. Current WP7 cannot be upgraded to WP8. It will further stale WP7 sales. Therefore share price go down. Until Nokia says that WP8 phones are on sale NOW. Analysts are not going to be happy.

QUOTE(LightningZERO @ Sep 6 2012, 07:23 PM) I wonder how the fake video thing will further damage Nokia's already bad market share It really made me think twice about the Lumia 920. I've been burned by Nokia's empty promises before, and the fact they had the nerve to use fake footage to showcase a feature just completely turned me off. I hope they can redeemed themselves by getting positive reviews of the actual unit.
