Already installed the toolkit and optimize using the optimizer, and no performance issues stated there ,, unsure.gif  unsure.gif

Then I have no idea what might be the problem, sorry.

My budget is around RM350 only. Intel 520 is way to expensive for me. sad.gif
I don't really care about the speed, as long it reaches around 480MB++ then it's consider okay. The most important aspect is the reliability. I already narrow my choice for Intel 330 or Samsung 830. But Vertex 4 keeps coming to my head. laugh.gif
*
I'll also vote for the Intel 330.

As stated, current SSDs are still backwards compatible with very old SATA hardware. But you might not see much performance difference due to weak CPU performance.

That benchmark looks correct for your SSD bottlenecked by SATA 3.0 GB/s. All is fine.

My Vertex 4 gets that too, is the Sata 2 interface. Max 300mb/s.

hello to all sifus, need your help on buying my ssd.

i've been brooding on this for days and come down to

intel 520 - sf controller (5yrs)
samsung 830 - samsung own controlle? (3yrs?)
vertex 4 - indilinx (5yrs)
sandisk extreme - sf controller (3yrs)

all for 240/256gb

i've seen huge lots of review based intel 520, samsung 830 and vertex 4. Not sure about sandisk though. Has anyone had any issue with sandisk? im more incline to sandisk due the price for the ssd is really cheap comparing with intel 520, minus the 5years

vertex 4 is still quite pricey

so any take on these ssd? your input on this matter is really appreciated

Should be normal for X58 boards
X58 mobo like R3E doesn't have Intel based SATA3 ports but 3rd party: Marvell.
install Marvell ACHI driver to improve performance.

You will get rated speeds with 6 & 7 series boards ie. Z77, Z68 etc
