good performance ssd under rm600+- for video encoding..will be using for laptop

Please recommend....is corsair gt OK compare to crucial M4? what about vertex 4?

thank you

Any SSD will do, preferably the highest capacity you can get for your budget. You are likely to be bottlenecked by your CPU during the transcoding, so perhaps even a good HDD will do if capacity is important enough. Then again, if your laptop has USB 3.0 or you can install a second HDD, then you can stick with an SSD in your laptop as your primary for your OS and applications.

The read performance is good, but the write performance doesn't look right.

Do you have the Intel toolkit installed? It should be able to help in diagnosing performance issues and how to solve it.

Already installed the toolkit and optimize using the optimizer, and no performance issues stated there ,, unsure.gif unsure.gif

Hey guys. I'm leaning towards Vertex 4 128GB right now. Same price with Samsung 830. But OCZ offer 5 years warranty. Should i go for Vertex 4 instead? I do heard OCZ released a new firmware. FW 1.5 is it? How was it now? hmm.gif Its my 1st ssd btw so i dont want to have a problematic hardware. sweat.gif

First: Think about storage mode for Vertex 4 before u buy

Second: Vertex 4 use MLC synchronous NAND

Third: i heard a lot of complain about OCZ product failure blah blah blah(i don know how true is that)

This is the reason y i don choose V4 because of the "two" mode and also cannot find at my local shop

ocz failure is based on sandforce chipset or indilinx chipset? dont mix them up and most ssd using MLC Sync. Some brand/model use Async and Toggle.

what is your budget? Intel 520 is 5 years warranty also and intel failure rate is the lowest.

My budget is around RM350 only. Intel 520 is way to expensive for me. sad.gif
I don't really care about the speed, as long it reaches around 480MB++ then it's consider okay. The most important aspect is the reliability. I already narrow my choice for Intel 330 or Samsung 830. But Vertex 4 keeps coming to my head. laugh.gif

with rm350 budget i suggest you go for intel 330 for reliability. Crucial M4 also good know for its reliability read can reach 5xxmb but write is max around 17xmb which im using now. vertex 4 giving 5 years warranty becoz of new chipset indilinx.
