Have had my OCZ Vertex 4 128gb for a week now on SATA II. Can't wait to upgrade to Ivy Bridge and use SATA III smile.gif

The vertex 4 should be on sata 3 to have it's full potential.

So sad I'm using LGA 775. My 1TB also has sata 3 but I can't use.

I bought it from ebay -> http://www.ebay.com/itm/150839174303?ssPag...984.m1497.l2649. Performance wise it's ok, you won't get full 6GB/s speed on add on cards. Max will like be 5GB/s at least better than my SATA 2 3GB/s.

I just got an AsRock one but I realized my PCI Express 1x isn't version 2.0 doh.gif

My Vertex 4 gets that too, is the Sata 2 interface. Max 300mb/s.

I am planning to get an SSD for my Asus laptop. I'm currently using Vertex 4 for my desktop but that was a birthday gift and I'm not planning to get another one after seeing the price for 128gb.

Will the Intel 330 120gb or Kingston V+200 120gb suffice? Or should I spend more for the Crucial M4?

Budget?

Prefer RM 300, max is RM 350. My laptop only has SATA2 so don't feel like spending too much on it to not feel any difference.

You will still see huge difference if change from HDD to SSD smile.gif

After experiencing Vertex 4 on my desktop, hell yes biggrin.gif Since my laptop is only used for uni work, I figured a 120/128gb SSD would be just nice and boost the startup speed.

Too pricey for me and I got this one as a birthday present. I think a new 128gb Vertex 4 is around RM 450-500 right now.

I'm not sure if my laptop supports SATA III. Sandy bridge i5 on HM65 mobile.

I googled the mobo, SATA 3Gb/s is SATA II, so speeds are normal. Like mine actually smile.gif
