i apply thru jenjobs.com, a job agency. If u apply thru shell website, the process will be very long... n not easy to get the job as the interview will be very tough... I got my job with Shell within 1 week time after the interview... n somemore 1 time interview only... but if u apply with job agent, u have to check n confirm all the terms n condition in black n white... especially the salary n leave...

if u r a contract staff u can ask for a higher salary...

I rejected their offer because I got another job offer with a much higher pay and that allows for extensive international travel.

If I hadn't gotten that other offer.. I would've jumped at the chance working for Shell.

Which company did you pick instead of Shell? Mind sharing?

Hahah close enough.. I don't work for the 'Big Blue' but I do work for a subsidiary company. I work for Western Geco, we're a seismic exploration company.

I don't think I have the mental and physical strength to work for SLB...especially out there in the field...huhuhuh

some ppl are not eligible to work in CTS , and after they know what is happening in CTS , they will quickly try to find other place to expand their skills , not entertaining user.

i guaranteed they only able to survive within 3 months , and later he/she will try to go away from CTS.Trust me.

I assume CTS=helpdesk?? I'm not in CTS but I'm one of the user that utilize their service. Honestly, I'm not quite sure what they are doing except for logging in my problem and try to solve the problem based on the list given for similar cases. Not sure if this is what should be done by a IT grad or did I decsribe their job scope correctly...

eh....no answer for u JM....
even I in 3rd level curious about the skill and knowledge of 1st or 2nd level....
sometimes their action or escalation jz make no sense.....

yes.....provided u have working experience and the interview control by you....

i guess that helpdesk is not suitable for everyone....and for those who didnt perform well in CTS, that doesnt mean that your a failure...it just means that CTS is not the dept suitable for u =)

What a politically correct answer. Most of the time, people think of CTS as too "degrading" for their wonderfully superb "brains". My theory is that if you can't even excel in the area of CTS, what makes them think they can excel elsewhere.

Most of the time its an attitude issue.

CTS is a deptartment which you can excel and develop your communication and people skills...

The problem with CTS is that the politics in there is too much.. I used to work with CTS before I jumped out from it.. Futhermore those people in CTS are bound to the time management tool called Apropos and WBT (if I'm not mistaken).. BTW.. it is a stupid tool.. They are some hardcore CTS there, they wouldn't want to move to other dept..and some of them just don't wnat to become bosses or consultant, they just want to answer to calls and emails... urghhhhh

So either it be in CTS, GI-H, Sec-OPs or anywhere is SITI, you are required to have good communication skills either via written or spoken.. despite how sh**full your boss is...

how well you know CTS ? my reply is meant as an advise, Yes, attitude might be an issue but what makes people want to go away is the job nature...taking calls and handling emails !
You know what, since your so "have a good working attitude", why dont you try to work there for 1 year ?

i had been invited to attend an interview at Shell, Damansara Heights. Is this interview is what everyone talking about SRD?
1 more thing, i understand that there will be few activities in that day interview. Is it every candidate is given a chance 2 complete the whole day interview?

Just to clear a misconception here - Apropos is NOT a time management tool. Apropos is a call routing tool - it directs which calls go to which regions/queues at any point in time - and it's very good at what it does.

The time management tool is the 2nd one (I also can't recall the name). That one sucks - they ported it from Unix to Windows, and it doesn't work 100%
