A good JMB is crucial. Get enough residents to form a JMB which can creatively and quickly do something that would positively reduce foreign student population. Meanwhile get management to record details of foreigners such as number of occupants in each unit, their personal details such as where and what they study or work, their thumb print, how long have they been in the country, etc. Such info would help JMB to devise appropriate counter actions. And the most important of all, Malaysians must be educated not to fall for such rare but often expert, casanova/tricksters! Also get JMB to ensure SW management receive and compile residents' reports of any suspicious characters. Investigate on them if needed. Somehow devise ways to get owners of units with many foreign students to pay extra service charges for all these precautionary work. I think even the foreign students that ultimately get to stay in SW, would also appreciate the effort to makw SW a better and safer place to live.

The only other thing she can do is try to avoid the timing of going out from her unit or leave 15-30 minutes earlier.

QUOTE(CMW123 @ Jun 15 2013, 10:50 AM) Does management has the legal rights to get personal details, thumbprint etc?? In countries like Austrialia and USA, its government cannot even force its citizens to have a national identification card. Race and religion in particular, cannot be made mandatory in any application form. Some how it works in their society. In Malaysia, its a different story. Security guard often demand our driving licence, other wise cannot get in. Until and unless it become a big issue, getting applicants for access card to apartments with serviced facilities, to provide basic information for security purposes has not been an issue so far in this country. I am refering to information such as apartment unit No., name, country of origin, birth date or age, college or work place and contact tel no., number of occupants per unit, car registration no. and model, etc. NRIC and thumb print readers are readily available in Malaysia. If a foreigner does not have a NRIC, then he will have to submit thumb print into data base for verification purpose. Personal information that are irrelevant to apartment security such as bank accounts, income tax no., course of study, etc should not be requested. There should be a balance between reasonable requested info and security. The apartment residents JMB got to decide how far to go and its purpose. Otherwise how to have reasonable security? How to discourage crime by preveningt bad hats from commiting it and then vanished? Reality is, apartments cannot bar anyone from staying there based on nationality or race alone. However service charges for instance, can be raised if there are too many families staying in a unit. Cost of staying at any apartments, to a certian extent, dictates the quality of residents living there.

i'm actually disappointed with sw progress and how they maintain it it is not from a small developer so there is no excuse design wise is already questionable cinema goers all use 2 lifts the same with r2. 2 lifts only. 3rd one is dirty for moving bricks. i have seen condo with 4 lifts if every morning meet the same PH is kinda scary
no cctv i can only try to go on a different timing. will PH say hello good morning to guys? i doubt it only to ladies
i bought brio but now the main entrance is blocked by an ugly brick wall with workers hangin around at the back. now this PH issue
i joined and wrote in this forum hoping to find out from other owners whether they face the same situations.
thanks davkong for the invitation

So, Wow. There is so many negative issues for SW. We can foresee there is no much potential for investment in SW.

I think it was DavKong who made a good suggestion of getting SPS to build a water feature at or near the wall. The question is whom in SPS should we approach? Perhaps we can try to get more Brio and commercial lots owners around the area to discuss with SPS. I have enquired, but SPS refuse to provide contact details of owners of the empty commercial lots there. There are limitations as to how much SPS can do regarding PH/student housing concerns. My guess is JMB must also work very hard to minimise this issue. Whether SW is going uphill or down - it will happen gradually over time. Neglect and lack of concerns/cooperation between owners and managment is often a factor.
