This evening I noticed something strange... I'm getting the same Public IP each time I reconnect eInternet on Thomson. Usually I will get different IP (expected behaviour) when re-connect.

P1 is offering an alternative to maxis ftth and unfi(for those with valid business registration documents) :-
P1 Biz Fiber

5mbps for rm99 and 20mbps for rm199

i may soon switch if no improvement on this maxshit ftth(ell)

5mbps is good enough for me... asides from saving of rm19 per month, rm228 for a year and rm456 for 24 months... why not?

anyone with experience on p1 OnePlan Fiber(for consumer)?
*
I cancelled maxis before installation due 7th August.
Scared of so many maxis problems.

I jumped on the P1 bandwagon.
registered interest P1 site, agent call me one day after that.
registered via email yesterday.

I reckon NOTHING will be worse than maxis.

so u r going for which P1 plan?

pls keep us updated after ur installation on the performance... interested to switch for a peaceful life

but for ur info, if u r massive users, they may implement fup as per the faq
*
5mb FiberBiz RM99.00 promo, need business registration to apply
but agent say personal also can apply, dunno bout that.

stated clearly no quota
http://p1.com.my/forbizfiber/plans.aspx

FUP is not a concern for me.
maxis/unifi also say got FUP, streamyx say no FUP but torrent is throttled

hopefully P1 goes well,
my 1mb streamyx has been VERY STABLE for years now,
but this package is cheaper and faster

maxis set the benchmark for the worst.
nothing can be worst than them.

Excerpt from P1 FAQ
"Is there a Fair Usage Policy?
Yes. To ensure the quality of our service, all our plans are subjected to the Fair Usage Policy. P1 reserves the right to enforce the Fair Usage Policy on users who exceed their allocated monthly quota."

But no sure what is the allocated monthly quota if implemented, that could be the catch... for unifi vip5 is 60gb
*
stated unlimited quota on their promo website
but FAQ there is a FUP

I will ask them for a black and white.

however that goes, it benefits the customers.
it is a valid argument to terminate the contract without penalty
in the case P1 not satisfactory.

have u got your p1 installed?

feedback pls
*
not installed yet.

my experience so far:

1) submitted my interest on their website 11th Aug Saturday night.
agent called Monday morning to confirm my interest and emailed to me what to do to apply.

I dilly dally, scared will be same as maxis and do a lot of research, nothing found.
end up tried their staff's fiber at his home, so far okay.
no redirection or disconnection.

2) emailed everything and signed the registration form thursday 23th Aug
received sms acknowledgement the next day Friday
followed by an email with all particulars and voip tel number,
someone will call me within 3 working days to confirm appt for installation.

3) now waiting.

What I am happy with:
Good service so far.
Unlimited quota stated clearly
30 days money back
Cheap RM99 p/month for 5mb

What I am not happy with:
no iptv, but not really important to me
weird terms/condition, must make call on tel at least once a month.
default e-billing, paper bill add rm5
Voip phone is green colour, wired.

*
good job maxis

call the CS and give them a piece of your mind.
they will give you a report number and ask you to wait.
nothing will happen. Maxis cannot help you.

but at least you can let go some tension.
then pray the speed gets back to normal.

you are one lucky dude,
either that or you didnt demand much and doesnt need the ping to play games.

My maxis installation didnt go through.
decided to cancel when they call for installation confirmation.

the whole experience itself was not good,
application was submitted late june for rm118
no calls for installation appointment until mid july.
installation schedule for early august.

been lurking in this thread and maxis forum
the more i read the more unhappy i am.

turns out dumping maxis was a wise decision. thumbup.gif

This thread is becoming pathetic
looks like everyone is busy buying usb fan doh.gif

It's a blessing in disguise... else you won't find P1's cheaper offer.
I don't play games....
*
P1 (5mbps) rm99 is not actually cheaper than maxis (10mbps) rm118

When i dumped maxis,
I thought I'd stick to my streamyx 1mbps (RM97 including phone promo)
or wait until unifi comes up with something cheaper.

then P1 comes along,
I was so sceptical at first,
so scared maxis prob will be duplicated in P1

If price is the deciding factor,
things will be so much simpler.

This is of paramount importance!
Cooling Fan is essential for maxis ffth thomson router.

LOL!
sori, can't help it but to mock this.
maybe maxis should bundle the fan in their package.

You reply to others' complain saying it is unfounded.
He response with numerous proof and problems with maxis.
You laugh it off?

I find your response nauseating.
Instead of answering questions and contributing,
your action is likened to adding salt to the wound.

What is so funny? You are extremely rude.

so far so good. day 12, on 24/7
are saying the performance will deteriorate after 30-days?
if it gonna go bonker, better within 30-days.

on a serious not,
if it did become worse after 30-days,
I will have no qualms about going to P1 hq and throw the equipments at them.
my lawyers will be there and gip them a letter for no perfoming of contract.
don't mess with a business package user. mad.gif

I see you all are still busy with the thomson wifi router.

really, maxis should dump their contract with thomson and provide a better one.
this is really making maxis's name bad.

me for one will never ever have anything to do with maxis again.

good luck guys.

this particular one is a network issue as conveyed by peri peri. i too faced it and spoke to their engineers....it was a broadcast storm in the network.

to me it looks like maxis network is giving the thomson a bad name... public ip issue, network latency, slow browsing....now this dhcp ip issue. they have a lot to iron out in the network i guess.
*
really?
so it is maxis's problems not thomson?
maxis really has to get their act together.
but I wont buy a thomson product either.

i still can access wifi internet for 5pc of my devices (dynamic IP) But THE ONLY thing is, when I try to open XUNLEI (torrent download), The internet will immediately down and unable to surfing or online. I'm just afraid, are they working on something to BLOCK torrent??
*
yup, i believe maxis throttle torrent.
I voiced my concern to them earlier when rapidshare cannot complete downloads....they do not deny it.
just copy and paste the FUP to me.

if you open xunlei and immediately cannot surf,
it is due to maxis blocking some ports.

I cannot brain this, why need to throttle?
my point is this
1) Iniatially there is a lot of things to download, prawn, movies etc
2) then realise there is too much media in the hdd havent watch yet
3) hdd full need to buy new one.
4) eventually almost everyone will have less downloading.

btw,
I have watched 75 episode of tvb, 12 japanese av, 78 box-office movies, 345 youtubes, 32 blueray movies
and i havent slept for 2 weeks edi.
my point.

I have to correct you with the FACT 3, that's not true.
Please DO NOT use 'EVERYONE' when you cannot represent others.
I gotta to say that I'm totally out of this since day 1, never got hijacked even once, none of my devices and machines.
SORRY for my capitalized words, just wanna clarify that, because I'm extremely sensitive with the word 'EVERYONE'.

*
u can gtfo! get over it! vmad.gif
this is a world where the minority is ignored.
almost everyone = everyone.

if you get your ways,
then even your words have to be rephrased, talk about politically correct.

stick to the issue,
what you are sensitive to isnt anybody else's problem! whistling.gif

just installed yesterday. 1 maxis guy and 4 tm installer came.
speed test quite satisfying. ping 10ms, download 13mbps upload 12mbps.
Btw, maxis gave me a thompson tg 799n router.
i've noticed there's a dect button and light on that router. is it possible to connect my phone directly to the router instead of plugging it in? thanks.
*
woooo! nice 799n
you are the first to report in with the model.
but it is still thomson.

if it performs well, let everone know.
those using 784 can request change router.
just put in microwave, on for 10 secs will do the trick, lol

After all these problems with Maxis router and gaming problem etc. I think I wanna go with Unifi instead. However I already have a scheduled installation date with them on October 3 which is next week. Is it possible if I call them and cancel the package now? it’s not too late and I can still cancel, right?
*
if your package is rm118,
you should call them and postpone the installation,
see if the new model thomson 799n performance.

if rm138/148
maxis is not worth the trouble.
