Is it true that Maxis throttle the internet speed?
I am still waiting for installation.
I will be using Maxis to stream live football matches, download mediafire etc and browsing pages.
Will Maxis throttle those usage?

Based on your usage, you would be happy to use Maxis Home Fibre 10Mbps
Mediafire downloads are really fast.
Streaming Youtube at 480p or 720p should be OK
*
Watching live football matches online is also considered as p2p right?
Anyone have tried this before?
Torrent approximately how many % of the speed you will get after been throttled?

It seems like everything is different from every users. A bit worrying.
But since I am a heavy downloader(around 1GB per day), still think Maxis is the best budget for me.
Just wondering,do you guys use the same hardware? (routers, modem etc)

Hi guys, it seems like user on public IP have more dc problems than users on private IP.

The default installation is public or private IP?
What's the advantage of having public IP?
Which one should i use? I am not a gamer but a heavy downloader and use internet for live football match streaming.

Stupid Maxis. Today I called them and they said they can't find any detail of my registered name. WTF.
Then called to the centre I registered at and they said they will check for me. But too bad I didn't have any prove that I registered before the RM118 deadline.
Anyone of you guys experience this? Really pissed of with this kind of service.

i registered at maxis dealer end june but no news after that. i called maxis 2 weeks later,  they said my registration not received, so i gave them my registration form number and which dealer i registered with for them to trace. another 2 weeks later, they called me to schedule installation on following week and promotion price stayed.
*
So I need to go to the dealer to get my registration form number and call Maxis?

P1 or Maxis?

My installation will be on next Tuesday, 18th September.
Anything I need to test/check after installation is done before the workers go back?
And private or public IP?

Added on September 14, 2012, 8:34 pmWhat is the best place to place my router and stuff? I got computers in both floors.

Crap, seeing comments here are worrying me actually.
Is GAMING the ONLY problem for Maxis?
I am not a gamer but I need confirmation on this.

Appreciate any comment, thanks smile.gif

If you are a heavy user ie. downloading / torrents think twice.... Same issue with unifi.... Guess that's why its rm138  drool.gif

I am a heavy downloader. I use internet everyday and download big sized files every day. From what I have read so far, the high ping shouldn't be affecting the download performance right?

My installation is finally on today. After such a long wait. More than 2 months!
I am a downloader and not a gamer hence I should go for public IP right? Any what test should I do after installation?

I just installed my Maxis Fibre today.
Surprisingly I'm having low ping, below 50. Speed is around 80%-120%. The installation team was excellent today, very friendly and great efficiency. Both reached my house on time today.
So far I am very satisfied paying just RM118 for this service. Thumbs up!

Just wanna ask you guys, when I use application to see how much bandwidth is my browser using when streaming live football matches, it shows <100kb, and it lags. But if I use application like Sopcast then I will be able to get full speed.
What causes this?

4 days since installation, minimum problem. Getting full speed from direct download but streaming live matches in browser lags.

My 784n router is kinda hot, but just a bit hotter than the TM modem. Is it alright or should I place a cooling fan underneath it?
Uploading to mediafire is a bit slow, getting only 30% of 10mbps.

So far, I am very satisfied with the service though.
