agreed. their services getting poorer and poorer....
you try runningmanblogspot and view the video there... laggy....

but if you open the direct URL dailymotion... it is better...
believe that this is their routing issue... maxis suxks..

i also have the same experience after i moved from TIME BROADBAND to TIME FIBER HOME BROADBAND.... b4 that... i can load the youtube or facebook video clip without buffering... after upgrade to TIME FIBER HOME BROADBAND... i had learn what is buffering... dam it.... but if it buffering very long.. i may use software download the video clip...

I remember that people use to complain about the router or modem that Maxis provided. My question is, why not buy a better modem to replace it?
Or it is not allowed?

u will lost voip (telephone) function if u replace it which contain free minutes calling to maxis number and 10 selected idd call, unless u can find a router with phone port like what maxis provide via thomson rg

so far there is nothing can be replace if u refer to malaysia home user market. btw, thomson is not the only one giving problem to maxis ftth. here is the total issues since it launch until now, with some of them already resolved:
1) hijacking of page to mylaunchpad.
2) private IP address by default
3) high ping
4) traffic shaping/throttling
5) blocking of some websites
6) interference with direct downloads
7) shitty thomson routers
8) router backdoor
9) disconnection every 48 hours for dhcp lease
10) changing of T&C at their whims and fancy.

Option is change to a router with vlan tagging ability.
Microtek router or TP Link router with custom firmware can do that.
But losing VOIP function, there is a guide to use VOIP on TM Huawei Modem.
I am using TP Link router with OpenWRT firmware now, most of the above issue are gone.

2) private IP address by default - still can request for public ip free of charge
3) high ping - bad international routing, this issue still exist until now
4) traffic shaping/throttling - this p2p throttle happen everyday 8pm-2am
5) blocking of some websites - i never facing it yet but there is another customer complaining about it
6) interference with direct downloads - issue resolved
7) shitty thomson routers - maxis still using thomson as maxis ftth default rg
8) router backdoor - they need remote access to rg to do remote support
9) disconnection every 48 hours for dhcp lease - this issue still exist till now
10) changing of T&C at their whims and fancy. - last time they change term for early termination penalty, then they change their fup from 1Mbps to 0.5Mbps

Hi guys,

Just now I got a call from ASTRO. They are launching IPTV with Maxis fibre. I just finished my contract with Unifi. Should I take this offer? Seems cool. 10Mbps only rm148 plus I no need to pay extra RM20 for HD services.

Any thoughts guys?
