if they lower to 5mbps i can accept, but 1mbps make me think that unifi are better than this . Nowsaday with 1Mbps i cant do many thing.

can't easily switch, 2 years contract with rm500 penalty

unless unify bear the rm 500 cost xD the signed the contract again with us if we terminate we need to bear back the cost xD

ask UNIFY company to come out with this T&C, i will go and signed xD

UNIFI also will implement FUP quota sooner or later.
if dont want quota, subscribe Business package or streamyx or TIME if ur place got their coverage.

i think it is quite an idea to implement Fair Usage Policy.
It is good for those who doesnt p2p. but
It is bad for those who does.

well...it hate or love..it depends on which user you are.
Anyway i think it is unfair for those who subscribed this service in the past.

Maxis said 100gb quota, reach it then throttle is FUP.
Daily fix throttle regardless quota is UUP --> Unfair UP

Those new 148 subscribers don 1 listen to our advise kena the most...lol

that's the problem, they use a standard Maxis FUP for all their broadband internet service (mobile or fixed) to supplement the contract. Refer to this link

well i don't blame maxis hundred percent..
they do stated in the contract, and for the fair of the other user, u must not hogging..
that is why, read la TnC first...
UNIFI also has same TnC.. beside it just 8pm untul 2am, everyday, u can p2p on other time or better, just leave the laptop or pc overnight.. just like what i do on streamix years ago to b4 fibre came to malaysia..

u can setup a remote web-based torrent that you can access kat ofis.

I like FUP to does using P2P.... I can use Direct Download @ 10Mbps

I knew this would happen with maxis.

they started shaping the traffic from several direct download sites early on.
Now throttling of p2p bandwidth.

Quota and traffic shaping/throttling is 2 diff thing altogether.

in maxis forum you can see them denying shaping/throttling earlier on.
most blame the thomson routers.
now they say they do it.

Go around town,
see the huge banners
adverts on utube/radio/tv and practically every media.
they spend millions to advertise.
if only they put the money to better use.

same old same old.
like always, you have no problem with it.

maxis: now bendover
1) hijacking of page to mylaunchpad.
2) private ips
3) high ping
4) traffic shaping/throttling
5) blocking of some websites
6) interference with direct downloads
7) shitty thomson routers
8) router backdoor
9) disconnection every 48 hours for dhcp lease
10) changing of T&C at their whims and fancy.

consumer rights are so lacking here.
elsewhere there would have been a class action suit.

Definitely not true. Downloading Top Gear few days ago with top speed 1.1MB/s and finished it in no time.

Yes, they do throttle downloads from Hotfile for example. Unifi also max at 2xx kB/s but Maxis really depends. Sometimes also 2xx but sometimes 80-120kB/s only.

1) every site u go, u will see mylaunchpad. now i dont see any mylaunchpad hijacking already, even after i reconnect my connection
2) with private ip maxis can save lot of public ip (lot of money), all port forwarding related issue come. no cctv, no ps3, no incoming routing. however maxis will give u the public ip if u request, for free
3) international routing still very bad, connection to singapore china can see too high latency. last time during olympic london can't play live 1080p HD streaming on youtube, don't know either related to this bad international routing or not
4) now with p2p 8pm - 2am, after this what and when will be throttle? http? 12 hours/day?
5) i never came to any blocked website while using google dns
6) last time maxis cut off direct download from rapidshare when the file reach 100KB, what a joke. now no more interference but didnt check because no more 'interesting' file with rapidshare
7) wifi signal not so strong compare to tm dir615 unifi router. phone port connect to thomson, not directly to alcatel btu like unifi for landed house. the result, u can't change the router with no phone port router
8) u can disable the remote management features in router. unifi also have this type of remote management. it will make harder to do remote troubleshooting
9) dhcp for public ip renewal every 48hours sometime not really good for someone
10) so far i know maxis change the penalty from good to better. last time penalty for early termination month balance x fees, now fix rm500. now they use their fup to slow down the p2p. after this what will change?

My recommendation to all torrent user.
Get a seedbox.

Seedbox is one of the option... how bout VPN..? Anyone tried VPN + Torrent on Maxis Fiber..?

we already pay to maxis for ftth service, why need to pay more for seedbox service?
