"voila!!.. 10mbps now is Rm148 (for maxis postpaid customer) and rm168 for others"
Last time it was Rm138 (postpaid) / Rm148 others..

Maxis u break my heart.. i am old skool citizen who use prepaid only for phone.. cry.gif

maxis home fibre 10mbps user reporting in! daytime torrent can reach 1.2MB/s! but midnight only 500-700kB/s only dont know why so slow...

Added on November 16, 2012, 2:41 ami changed from unifi to maxis. same thing nia. the tm guy comes and sets up the tm modem using the same phone line that was previously used for unifi. then the modem is connected to a maxis thomson gateway.

Hey guys, I just got my maxis home internet installed and they're using the technicolor router. The problem is when i tried changing the DNS on my laptop, I cant access the sites that I used to be able to access when i was using unifi. So I was wondering if anyone experienced this before? And how do I change the DNS on the router or is changing it on the PC is enough?

Yes, changing it on the PC is enough. Either LAN or WirelessLAN connection under "Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)".

TS, please add this to the first page.

For everyone who is trying to change the DNS, please do not use IPV4 DNS anymore. Maxis Home Fibre has switched to IPV6 therefore using IPV4 won't work.

When going into Internel Protocol, choose the:

Internet Protocal Version 6 (TCP/IPv6)

Then key in a public IPv6 DNS for Preferred DNS and Alternate DNS. Example Google Ipv6 dns:

2001:4860:4860::8888
2001:4860:4860::8844

OpenDNS IPv6:

2620:0:ccc::2
2620:0:ccd::2

Hope this helps. I tried to change to 8.8.8.8 when I first got maxis home fibre but i couldnt access GutterUncensored (if you can visit this site means you are on an uncensored DNS, not Malaysia's heavily filtered DNS). Finally after trying unsuccessfully using many public DNS servers, I thought, what if Maxis has upgraded to IPv6? Straight away I key in google public DNS and voila! all the "censored" websites could be accessed openly and no more government filtering!

I still can access that "GutterUncensored" site using normal Google IPv4 DNS 8.8.8.8 on my PC. My Maxis Thomson router configuration still unchanged with stock setting (Maxis DNS). I'm on public IP by the way. tq

Maxis fibre 10MB is catastrophe. The torrent speed is so slow. Seed/Leech is healthy. Weak Signal will have huge impact on your internet speed.

When using uNIFI, the weak signal wouldn't mess up your speed. Tested it multiple time.

I'm not sure how it works because previously when I was on unifi, using IPV4 public DNS would be good enough to access any internet sites but since installing Maxis Home Fibre, only via using IPv6 public DNS I can access any website. This could be due to different time of installing maxis home fibre. e.g. moving forward any maxis home fibre will be on the IPv6 network. Earlier subscribers would still be on IPv4.
