WTA..How much heat can X1900GT can handle ?

Every graphic card could work beyond 80c in general ..

however it's not a good practice to maintain such heat level all the time ...

To know specifically at what temperature ur card could work stable ...

use ATI TOOL and loaded up the artifact test ... once it reaches a point where artifact shown .. that's the limit ..

but generally unless u OC card further, usually at default setting very hard to achieve such temperature unless u turn down the fan speed on cooler ..

Ran ATI Tool for 1 hour @ 105c..no artifacts.

105c with no artifact is good

any screenshot to prove it?

artic cooling S1 is much better with a decent 120mm fan.

You are using it now ???

I'm getting my HIS Iceq 3870 and Artic Cooling Accelero S1 in another two days ...

Can't wait to get the hot 2900XT out from my rig ... and revert back to air cooling ....

No Doubt AC S1 paired with a 12cm fan is the best choice.

HIS iceq3 3870 stock cooler's performance is comparable with any 3rd party cooler, why still wanna change it? [not to mention the super cool sticker on the cooler ]

hmm .. it can still fits a 25mm thick fan at the bottom of the cooler to provide maximum cooling ..

this is only needed if u are over clocking the card...

if not placing a 12cm fan near by the graphic card would be enough ...

That's with fan or without fan?
Don't tell me you get that kind of temps with the S1 on passive mode.

By the way Doom, you can still put a fan on the S1 if you put the soundcard on the first PCI slot.
With that, you'd have bigger room for the fan to absorb more air and blow it to the heatsink.

Just my suggestion though.

ya, amazingly the temp is without fan on the heatsink but he does have a fan at the 5.25" slot down there
what's wrong with you? PCI slot lah~
