just buy ABIT gfx , got OTES cooling solution smile.gif

it used to looks cool and loud, but are they still available now ??
Best stock cooling now i think maybe HIS which come with aritc cooling or some manufactur that comes with zalman heatsink.

Well, for the best bang of buck, i would suggest you to find forummer - moderno
Go for the Sun copper VGA cooler that offered by him, looks exactly like Zalman VF700 clone, and perform almost the same also, some more with 4 LEDs drool.gif drool.gif

Want my opinion?
I'd say no if i were you.

Check that heatsink properly and you'll understand.

All those 3rd party VGA heatsinks that incorporate both memory & gpu cooler in one heatsink is a "no-no".

Why?
Because this will result to the memory heat to be transferred to the GPU which will result to worse temperature compared to stock heatsink that cools the GPU separately with memory.

My opinion, don't buy that VGA Cooler. smile.gif
*
How you know that the page is saying the heatsink contacts cool BOTH GPU and Memory ??
If it does, why ramsink is provided ?
From the picture itself, it is so damn clear that the base only contact with the GPU.

It is better to ask for plague's budget first.
Since we all know coolermaster is not performing real good.
If plague having limited budget, it is quite ok to get it.

Btw, do you mean Artic Silencers were bad too since the heatsink cools both GPU and Memory? I doubt it.
The memory chips aren't really that hot to bring up the GPU's temp

Yes.

Silencers X1 and X2 were BAD.
How do i know?
Because i've tested both of them before.

And after switching those coolers to other 3rd party coolers, the other 3rd party coolers performs much much better than the Silencer X1 & X2 doh.gif

I don't just talk, i talk with experience. smile.gif

Well, my bad for saying that the new coolviva is using the same principal as the silencer X1 and X2. blush.gif
Because the new coolviva looks exactly the same like the silencer X1 and X2. laugh.gif

But still, my opinion on the X1 and X2 is bad won't change, they sucks, sucks very very much. shakehead.gif
*
No, they dont suck, at least better than the stock cooler.
At the post before, you said they were worse than stock cooler, that is just plain rubbish.

I never said that you just talk though.
The X1 and X2 is not really made for overclocker and those people who doesn't have well ventilated airflow inside the case.
They are made for those silent freak who cant stand the stock cooler's noise.

So, comparing them with other 3rd party coolers will be never a ending story, sure there are other coolers which is better.

Perhaps, your case airflow is not good enough?
Just curious

actually i bought the zalman cooler VF700 the one with blue LED lol
I did manage to overclock but not much.
Anyway my pc is up and running tongue.gif sorry forgot to update this thread.

As for how much? uh..I 'll checl
all i know is defauls are
Core - 240Mhz
Mem - 200mhz

I think i overclocked alittle to
Core - 250Mhz
MEm - 205Mhz

If i set the ram to 206 and above...my whole system just restarts itself.
*
overclocking results sometimes is not related to the cooler...
10MHz is like so less tongue.gif tongue.gif

lol..RM200?You can already get some of the best..

But i think some of the best GC cooler around wont be able to support 6600 AGP..Even the TR HR-03 and Zalman VF-900 had mention that it wont be able to support 6600AGP  hmm.gif  hmm.gif
*
Zalman used to have a seperate HSI sink for the 6600AGP since the VF700 era.
For the VF900, I am not really sure.

hr-03 plus should be better performing i guess..since this v2 not as large n not as many heatpipe as hr-03 plus..

the price surely be lower than hr-03 plus..this will be interesting  brows.gif
*
IMHO, if paired with fans, i think the V2 would perform better

IMO, you need one of hell fast fan.
We all know that copper need high CFM to blow the heat away from full copper heatsinks right? hmm.gif

As copper dissipates heats slower than aluminium.
[Much much slower. tongue.gif ]
*
No doubt that a fast fan could bring better performance on all heatsinks. We all sure know that copper stores more heat than aluminium and dissipates heat slower.
But yet, those are only assumption. Let's wait for what Thermalright will come out with. rclxm9.gif

And why would you say that HR-03 Plus fits HD2900XT? hmm.gif

i wonder too rolleyes.gif rolleyes.gif

But by adding a piece of aluminum/copper on top of the core, the HR-03 Plus would fit I think

Wow this is surprising.

The CollViVa is really that good ?
My guess here is, the aluminium zalman VF-700 sucks >.<
The original Zalman should be copper anyway.

Btw, have you tried to run the zalman fan for 12V?
they really perform lousier than the coolermaster? shocking.gif shocking.gif

yea. dismount the heatsink, take off the fan shroud(the black cover) and put a fan there to blow it.
No need to replace the whole heatsink then.

That's with fan or without fan? blink.gif
Don't tell me you get that kind of temps with the S1 on passive mode. shocking.gif

By the way Doom, you can still put a fan on the S1 if you put the soundcard on the first PCI-e slot.
With that, you'd have bigger room for the fan to absorb more air and blow it to the heatsink.

Just my suggestion though. smile.gif
*
ya, amazingly the temp is without fan on the heatsink but he does have a fan at the 5.25" slot down there
what's wrong with you? PCI slot lah~ laugh.gif laugh.gif
