loved it when analyst cut to the chase...

http://www.thestar.com.my/Business/Busines...mble-again.aspx
Harry Su, head of research at Bahana Securities, said that with the share index dropping below 4,250 on Tuesday, "the market could head to the 3,800 according to our technical analyst."

Bahana still thinks the index will be up this year, though on Tuesday it cut its year-end target to 4,750 from 4,950. At the end of 2012, the index was at 4,316.7.

Jakarta index closed today at 4171, so possible upside of 14% if it goes up to 4750 level. The peak at end May was 5200.

Cheers, happy hunting.

PS. Also keeping an eye on Sing; my only equity fund still in black, not because its index did not dropped or the fund performing better than index, it's because ringgit has dropped more against Sing dollar.

I have just made another withdrawal from my KWSP a/c 1 a couple of months ago.... I have no issues with KWSP so far. Their service is fast and efficient.

Good to hear effective 2014... Still got time now... Waiting to max the withdrawal again. Positive is to secure epf savers... Negative is government need more money to spend... For me choose to buy the risk asap... Since the percentage of my epf invested in fund no longer greater from 2014.... Thus, the risk is tolerable for me. Hehehehehe.... My 2 cents.

“The new rates are benchmarked against the minimum pension for public sector employees which are currently at RM820 a month.

Read more: EPF to raise members’ basic savings level http://www.btimes.com.my/Current_News/BTIM...l#ixzz2crdyV62y

I think the new table is set too high, and it is a sudden and tremendous increase from the current table. It will reduce a lot of possible withdrawals.

How could a lump sum withdrawal of RM196,000 at age 55, be compared to a pension of RM820/month? And Account 1 is not the total amount but 70%. Furthermore, the withdrawal amount for UT investment is a portion (20%) of the excess amount above the 'basic savings'.

And these investment withdrawals are not "real" withdrawals, and are still very much part of retirement funds.

I think the current table is good enough, and I rather have larger withdrawals to slowly invest than having a larger lump sum at age 55.

I could only hope that at age 55, it will be a very bad year, economically with stock markets at very low levels... else it is as good as putting the large sum of money under the bed... as it is what is visioned by the wise board of directors as the rm196,000 is arrived at with a simple math of 20 years x rm820/month.

If EPF intend was to help savers, they should tighten account 2 instead, I cannot withdraw my money as cash in account 1, EPF or UT. Got difference?

IMHO, got prawn behind stone.

Have investment in PBond
Top up monthly via monthly SI signed up earlier
Present service charge (sc) is 0.25%
Wef 1/10/2013, sc is 1%
Do u think I can appeal for them to maintain sc @ 0.25% for those investors under SI arrangement?

Well I like your post.

Exactly Public Mutual service charges are high, so normally customers (like me) either invest through EPF (and chooses blank for agent code) or Public Bank, and I do not wish to feed the agents commission even though I am buying with cash.

Not to forget, 250K investment in PB series fund will entitle you for a Red Carpet Banking as well.

are you sure you put blank or choose public bank then you wont get charge for upfront sales charge?
btw doing DDI with bond fund is not a right technique..because bond fund not fluctuate like equity fund..only those fund with some degree of volatility can see the power of DCA.

just my 2cents..

We as a customer still got charged on the service charge definitely, whether or not it's a cash or EFP investment but at least, we don't need to feed those we don't want to.
