Zookeeper, I personally do not recommend you doing a WM6 flash as there is a high chance to brick your phone.

i agree.. had a prob with my Prophet WM6 lastnite, got stuck on the windows mobile screen while booting.. then i could not even soft or hard reset.. tried for almost 2 hours then managed to enter the hard reset menu.. now i'm installing all my softwares back.. darn...

Just bought 810pro Used. Device and charger only no CD for softwares and driver. Try to connect to PC but windows asking for driver. Anybody can send me a copy of that driver thru my email? myusof64@gmail.com. Thanks in advance.

i've followed the instructions to upgrade the rom as in here > http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=319206

when i run that PV_4.0.0.0.6_Touch/Upgrade_ROM.bat and got a successful message and hard reset my device..
but it still looks like normal wm5 interface.. am i missing anything?

shockk does this mean the wm6 rom they created at xda-developer is not stable yet? the reason i wanted to up the version to wm6 is because the office mobile is much more advance (i need the push mail function) and also i heard that wm6 provide better battery management and also slight speed boost the the pda. please correct me if i m wrong.
cos its been a while since i read through the whole topic so i cant really remember where i read it. And also, is there anything important which is basic that i need to update or install for the prophet? recommendation is appreciated.

ps: is there other way to transfer data to the phone without having the usb cable charging the pda battery? cos my battery is half full i m afraid that it will spoil the bat if it charge it when its not depleted.

well, the process of upgrading to the WM6 firmware is the killer. you need to be very meticuluous about it. if you do that and everything goes well, it should be ok.

don't worry about the battery charging sequence. Li-Ion batteries like in 818 Pro are designed to be constantly charged at all times. it will even make it better. but try to unplug once it is fully charged, though.

have been playing with the touch thingy.. but I've just noticed a few problems:

1. my phone is not working - it gave me a "No Service" even if I choose manual.
2. press "Call" button but no dialpad - it's not giving me any response actually.
3. on today's screen, can't add contact onto the 'frequently dialed' or whatever u call it..

so far, these are the problems i'm having at the moment.

did u do a hard reset after u installed the WM6 ROM?

Start -> Settings -> Sound and Notifications -> Notifications -> Event : Phone : Incoming Call

u need to copy the mp3 or wav file to the phone memory.. u could use ringtones from ur memory card (using registry edit), but it'll lag when u receive a call..

or if ur using the HTC Home plug-in, u could juz select it from the Music Player..

yup.. camera + comm + reset button.. asked me about FAT partition thingy.. pressed the green call button..
before wm6, i still able to make call..

Does it mean to upgrade WM6? I called up SIS other day to confirm whether to do so. They suggest not to.

E = Edge (I think)
G = GPRS (will shows whenever u're connected to the GPRS network)

yes.. E symbolizes edge network available while G for gprs network.

that only means above mentioned networks r available.. doesn't mean connected. if connected, it will show another transferring symbol instead.

some memory was used up for applications that running on background. it's normal.

PS: ur 818pro is quite new! new dopod logo some more..

anyway, about my wm6 upgrade, i've downgraded it back to wm5 and the phone is working..
is 4.0.0.0.6 not stable yet?

haha... don't know. i personally don't own an 818pro. but as far as i know, the wm6 rom for 818pro available on the internet were all unofficial. flashing those roms will void warranty.

however, i heard alot of positive remarks for the wm6 over wm5 (faster, better looking interface, "software based - touch-flo" etc)

Those cookers can cook better ROM than HTC, I trust them, just that they are not full time ROM developers, HTC got many ppl working on one single ROM, they also got internal BETA one, now the PDA-viet ROM is quite stable edi
