did everything u said, but after hard reset, it's still WM5.. except the battery icon is now below, next to the wifi icon..

updated : ok, my fault, didn't check all the check boxes in active sync.. now running the PV_4.0.0.06_Touch again but this time, there a notification error "Cannot execute repllog.exe".. a search in google found out that it's got something to do with active sync.. did u experienced this as well Benedict? it's been past 20mins now, and it's stuck at

writing the new crossbow os rom...

thanx benedict.. i finally figured out what was the prob.. like u said, it was the active sync.. all i did was juz click 'cancel'.. in which u could still transfer files but can't sync.. now i'm enjoying my Prophet 818 Pro WM6 TouchFlo!!

i am using that rom on my Dopod 818 Pro.. juz read the posts for instructions.. and maybe a bit of google..

p/s :

to soft reset, insert ur stylus into the small hole next to the usb/charger port..

to hard reset, press and hold camera + comm button + soft reset.. let go the soft reset 1st, then both camera + comm button..

to load bootloader, press and hold camera button + soft reset.. let go the soft reset 1st, then camera button..

ur 818 Pro is a G3 or G4? u sure u flashed the correct ROM from the PV Temp? have u tried the NVID ROM instead?

G3 devices:IPL x.xx.0000, SPL x.xx.000.0 (this is shown when you reset)

G4 devices:IPL x.xx.0001, SPL x.xx.000.1 (this is shown when you reset)

what version of activesync are u using? u must sync ur 818 Pro 1st then run PV_Temp.. it's best if u uncheck all boxes in the "files to syncronize" boxes..

i have no probs at all using 4.0.0.06_Touch.. the only prob that i faced is when installing it and also when it won't accept my password to unlock.. kept saying password invalid whereas that's the password i set b4.. in the end i had to hard reset.. other than that, it's smooth sailing..

i have no probs charging via usb with mine.. maybe it's the cable? btw, does activesync detects ur 818 Pro when u connect? did u hard reset ur 818 Pro?

the best thing is to flash the WM6 Rom with the Touch skin.. there's another way around but that takes up a lot of memory resource so ur 818 Pro becomes really2 slow..

i am using the HTC Home plug-in.. no prob at all.. even the 3D touchflo cube works fine.. wuts ur version, G3 or G4?

i agree.. had a prob with my Prophet WM6 lastnite, got stuck on the windows mobile screen while booting.. then i could not even soft or hard reset.. tried for almost 2 hours then managed to enter the hard reset menu.. now i'm installing all my softwares back.. darn...

did u do a hard reset after u installed the WM6 ROM?

Start -> Settings -> Sound and Notifications -> Notifications -> Event : Phone : Incoming Call

u need to copy the mp3 or wav file to the phone memory.. u could use ringtones from ur memory card (using registry edit), but it'll lag when u receive a call..

or if ur using the HTC Home plug-in, u could juz select it from the Music Player..

Added on August 28, 2007, 11:03 amas shockk said, the process of flashing ur rom is the killer.. if u do something wrong along the way, there's a high chance of ur 818pro to become a 'brick'.. but on the bright side, u do get better power management, more advance office and less memory leak (from a software called X-Button) which leads to the slight speed boost..

other ways of transferring data is to use the available comm I/O on the dopod 818pro (bluetooth, infrared, wifi)..

there's no internal gps for the 818pro.. however, u could get an external GPS bluetooth module.. i was using the Garmin GPS10x with Garmin Mobile XT b4.. working juz fine..
